Hi, I also having some problem with the ac (EK3). Some noice is coming from the ac compressor as I can see. Has anyone done any repairs related to ac compressor or replaced one recently ? It would be great if you could mention the cost and a place , please. thanks in advance

folks , I went and got a new gear box (recondition of course) and now the ride is smooth and no jerks anymore. It cost me 90000/- in total . (70000 for the box , 10000 for oil and so)

Bad luck , the car is not moving now When I put to D , it does not move , when I change the gear for R , still the D is blinking . Has anybody come across with such scenario and any recommandations on a place to fix it and cost it took ? Will I need to swap a gearbox ?

My car had this problem when I bought the car like an year ago but I did not see it when purchasing. The oil was bad and did a change just after the purchase from the agent , and the morning jerk was there . I think the previous owners had already given the cvt box a hard time already. My oil is new and had run like 7000/-kms since the change . Anyway like you suggest I need to do a proper gearbox checkup rather than running at this situation.

Yes I know, and really appreciate your interest on ek3. its a risk to do that and that's why I am looking for anyone who has any experience by any chance. The car never gives any trouble and runs like a baby except for this annoying thing after every cold start and I am in the look for the best option. I called Embuldeniya Auto-box repair person and told will cost around 50 000 for a CVT repair and he suggest for a new box costing at least 80k .

thank you - found out one of my front tyres are causing the problem , need to replace and thus the vibration... and abt the gearbox problem , i heard that a new kind of oil is there to replace the origional Honda CVT along with some filters and stuff costing around 18000. anyone have any idea abt that ? or done the same with any results ?

Hi , I have an ek3 VTi and earlier I had the same problem , when the engine is cold I had to wait for sometime or I need to get the rpm around 3000 or so to get the car running. But like 2 days ago , when I am driving at lower gears , the car vibrates and that goes away when I reach around 60Km/h . Anyone had a similer problem before ? pls help

hi , I think you must have gotten your hub bearings by now I replaced my rear hub bearing and the part number is "HUB005-38" . This is for an EK3 , VTI with disk breaks and abs - got it from Teck motors - 2430837 and was around 7000/- a piece. But depending on the type , you will have to choose one , goz for the RS and VTI the larger one fit (and its hard to find and expensive as well) if its the other non disk break types , you can get it for around 4500/- a piece. see the pic , its the one which was in the car

I am looking for a place to service my CIVIC ek3. Any idea on the best places with the cost please. What's the best engine oil for a ek3 (D15B engine)? Last time I serviced at Stafford and they had only Caltex. Castrol or Mobil oils are much better choices ?

For my ek3 , auto with cvt box, I got the oil changed from stafford , it cost me around 10000 . They put 4 liters of oil , that's around 2000 a liter i think . I did this on last July 2012 (may be the prices have gone up a bit) and for oil changed u can contact upul - Malabe (777 735 251)as well , he will know what type to put and mostly he's got the oil as well.

Hi I got my AC problem fixed . I spent only 8000/- for the cooler , 1000 for a cabin air filter and 3500/- to gas and do the rest from a place at Wariyapola (name is Asanka:0716317973) Total 12500/- If you are around Kurunegala or in that area worth having a visit. Anyway its worth not to get caught by these ppl cleaning u up with various reasons.

Hi , I also have a problem with AC on my ek3 . I took it to some place at Nugegoda and they mentioned that I have to replace the cooler since it had a leak . They showed me the leask as well. (They pumped air into the cooler and put in a water tank) The estimated cost for a new cooler including fixing and all that, they queted 28000/- So I am just wandering if anyone has experience in fixing the leaks on a coolder rather than replacing it. Please provide any place or contact number if anyone is aware about.
