    Hello Guys, I'm planning to buy a car for everyday use in the city and seldom out of station trips. My budget is around 5-7 million rupees. I wanted to get a VEZEL but gave up the idea on hearing of its reliability issues such as acceleration faults and airbag faults. the FIT too seems unfit as its already had 5 recalls in japan on various issues. On the other hand, toyota AQUA looks ugly and so do most of their cars in this price segment. Kindly suggest me some cars that I could choose from. Thanks.

    I'd suggest the new 2014 model Nissan QashQai. I have seen quite a lot of those in UK. It looks good too. It would be sufficient enough for your soft-roading !

    mercedes A180 petrol version wouldn't be a bad choice if you are ok with saving 2.5m and going for a hatch.

    why not try a rangerover evoque ? i know the place is infested with many of these from permits, but its a real pleasure to drive these. quite good !

    I spoke to a dealer who told me the new HONDA FIT RS 2014 is good enough sporty with 132ps power with paddle shifts. Also I came to know that the new FIT hybrid comes with 110ps+30ps(electric motor) mated to a 7 speed dual clutch with paddle shifts( some grade name has it). Probably fits my budget, just want to know if its a good buy over swift sport 1.6L ?

    heard from a friend that a new BMW X1 2014 will cost around 5.5-6.5 mil, is it worth spending little extra for a crossover ?

    hi, im looking to buy a sporty hatchback car brand new, i tried the vitz but its not at all sporty, i enquired about vw polo, but they have only manual versions made in india, is there any other good car that is sporty with automatic transmission and paddle shifters ? i saw few fit hybrid with paddle shifts, are they sporty or dull like vitz and aqua ? thanks

    Hey guys it would be nice if you all could elaborate on the type of permits available currently (aug-sept 2013) , the extension of CIF values permitted and vehicles that can be brought down ! Any important stuff about permits, buying them, importing vehicles through permit, precautions and so on shared here would be useful to many of our forum readers as well as those who google search it ! * Kindly avoid trolling and don't post anything if you are not interested in sharing info regarding this topic.     there's no sporty hatch from japanese makers ? VW polo looks good, havent seen even one on road till now ! contacted vw SL but no automatic or paddle shifters Looks like cheap vw s made in INDIA

    Im looking forward to buying a sporty hatchback for day to day use and for some long drives on weekends. My requirements are a) fun to drive ( good handling ) sufficient power ( unlike under powered JDMs available in SL) c) 3-5 mil price tag d) easy maintenance ( availability of spares ) e) good sporty looks f) would be nice if it had paddle shifts Im planning to put larger alloys with wide low profile tyres.     and at last.... after 7 months of waiting.... the C220CDI for $30000 permit have arrived in SL. They are not taking anymore orders itseems !

    I saw many import toyotas from japan from 3rd party dealers and not the company.... so I guess this method is feasible ! My friend recently asked the Merc dealer if he could get petrol c class top model for permit and they told they cant ! But do German companies supply cars to 3rd parties rather than their own dealers right from Germany ?

    In case I've got a $25000 vehicle permit, and I want a car such as a mercedes benz b class diesel (which is not offered by dealer), is there a possibility of importing the car by any other means ? Third party dealers or so ?

    Seriously ? A Q7 for provincial councilmen permit ? Recently saw the new E class for the permit... a whopping $45000 ! God I wanna be a politician just to buy them all !

    Dude crosswind, the need for leather covers was just to protect the seat fabric from all sorts of dirt that get into especially when you live in a rainy hill station, and also coz of kids having snacks on the rear ! there's no need to dress up a merc for prestige.... it simply is !

    My brother has got a C220 CDI on permit, unfortunately no leather seats as on the BMWs ! where can i get good leather seat covers for my car ? i want them hemmed into the existing seats. Also it lacks a rear arm rest, any suggestion for an alternate arm rest ?

    i dont understand.... is there any restriction on top speed of the car which you import ? what does it matter ?
