Daihatsu G11 is a good nippy car with simple technology. I had two of them in two occasions. Actually I restored the second one in late nineties. Even at that time body parts were rare but able to source mechanical parts since it is subsidiary of Toyota. Those days Tec motors panchikawatte and AU Motors Kohuwala had them.

Customs usually calculate the age from the date of first registration of the vehicle. So if it is a used one you have to submit the 'de registration certificate' ( or 'cancellation of registration') from the importing country.

It is due to hardening of oil seals in the box. No need to replace the box. Get the seals replaced. -

I got 3M glass polishing compound (part no:60150) from 3M Lanka about 2 years back. Don't know whether it is available now. So check with them. -
There were not much RAV4 s imported during last few years because of high import duties along with luxury taxes. When I was searching two months back , found two of them up for sale. They were 2WD, zero milage, imported under permit from AU. Asking price was 10.1 mil each. However I have settled for a 2009 one for 5.5 mil Hope this helps.

Go for Namaratne .Generally they give 20% for cash. Since Taa are the agent, they wont give such discounts as Nama does. But the stuff is same. -

@PreseaLover Since I wanted to keep the car for some time I got the engine repaired as soon as the the early signs appeared. Otherwise you have to suffer starting problems, overheating, messy engine etc., So It was easy to rebuild even using the existing pistons unlike the totally abused engine.

I have used a CE110 manual one from 56000km to 285000km in 16 years. It is a very reliable and easy to maintain. Engine overhauled at 175000km and up to the time of sale doing fine. Almost all parts are available at very reasonable price. However I had to replace headlamps twice due to discoloration and steering wheel four times due to deterioration.

May I suggest Nissan Teana or Cedric Y34 for you..

I have tried many but TOMATO is the best

Totally agreed....

If you want to keep it as original it is ok. But unless it has climate control AC there is no harm bypassing the heater core. Heater core itself will make trouble due to ageing.

In some models it is a simple DIY job... what is your car anyway....

No vibration at all felt without applying brakes.

Problem solved.!! It was due to a warped hub. Bit scarce to find but fortunately found a good piece at watte. Pair of rotors were also replaced because the existing pair has been machined to the limit. Now the brakes are fine. Thanks for your help. specially you Davy .......

Peugeot 206/207 Vs Toyota Starlet/carat
wolseley replied to vishwa.j's question in Car Buying Information
I have owned starlet EP82 ,EP91 and currently EP71. In my experience starlets are very reliable small machines and are very easy to maintain. Go for starlet. -
There is a toothed ring attached to the CV joint towards what the ABS sensor is pointed at. If that come loose the ABS sensor might not pick up the signal properly. Check it first. Davy has nicely elaborateded the thing..........cheeers
