Yes bro... The brakes are fine. Pads and the disk were in good shape. BTW I didn't maintain 160, wanted to see what she's capable of. Got back to 100 after that

Yes the lights are damaged. This was first advertised on 1km@n and later it was advertised on AL, bought it after seeing it on AL. Went to see her the very day it was advertised on AL and bought her 2 days later. I think this is how the front should look The 5A-F carb engine is not that bad though. Managed to do 160 on the highway, with AC on and carrying 3 more passengers.

The engine bay is dirty though, didn't service the engine

Yeah bro they said that they only have the gearbox. She might look good on photos but the paint job is not perfect and there are some rust spots as well. The all important Trueno badges are missing and I think the front bumper and the lights are not original.

Searched around Wijerama today and called the place Muditha got his engine from. Still no luck Anybody know of a place that might have the blacktop with the 6 speed gearbox, E.C.U. and wire harness?

What about the guy who did the conversion? By the way, was it your Trueno I saw parked opposite T0k1m0 about a week ago? Yup he's the one. I had a chat with Muditha and he recommended a place. I should have a search around Wijerama area. BTW, don't you only need stuff like the pistons and rings for an engine overhaul? ( I'm not that familiar with the process)

Asked the price of the blacktop which was advertised on R@pidR3vR@cing. He wants 350k for it. Is this the normal price for one?

Yes the black-top wold be the easy option as ae92s came with 4ages. But I also visited a garage to get an opinion on the matter and he recommended a 4efte with a modified block (to make it 1.5). He said that it would fit the existing mounts as well. So what would be the better option? 4age or 4efte? Also thought about 3sge and 3sgte but as you all have mentioned it's not a straight forward swap. There is also 4agzes but aren't they a bit rare in SL? The ae92s also came with the supercharged version. My goal, at the end of the day is to make more power while not compromising the reliability and handling of the car.

I'm thinking of swapping my Toyota Trueno's 5A-F carb engine for an engine with more HP. She is my daily so I want her to be reliable as well. Please suggest me a good engine along with their pros and cons. I need the engine 1. To be from Toyota 2. To fit into the existing mounts, without any fabrication of the firewall 3. To have E.F.I. 4. To be available in SL with their gearbox, wire harness and E.C.U., for a reasonable price 5. Not to screw-up the weight distribution of the car Currently considering 4age (black-top, silver-top), 4agze (heard it's a bit rare), 4efte, 3sge, 3sgte (not sure whether these will fit an FWD) Thanks in advance

I believe engineers of various disciplines are involved in this project. Not only IT guys. Don't know how experienced they are to handle a project of this caliber but they shouldn't be underestimated. The reason behind targeting the hyper-car market is to establish the brand and with the success of this project they wish to diversify their market. Guess I can't expect everyone to appreciate the efforts of our people. I'm certainly proud of them for attempting such a project.

So the other components such as the gearbox is the same? Does that mean the 5A-F can be swapped with a 4A-GE or GZE without changing the gearbox? What are the other parts required? Btw both are FWD right?

But still... It's golden to find something that's in original condition Any idea about the difference between an AE91 and an AE92??

Look man... All I wanted to know was whether a carb engine could be turbocharged... Your dear friend was the one who told me to put a turbo-whistle and a fake BOV instead of actually turbocharging. I tried to ignore his first post but he kept on posting. What exactly are you guys trying to say?? That only a selected few could have their vehicles turbocharged??

You are doing a datsun 510 project aren't you? What's the engine in it? 2-litre? Btw, the saturday night street racing scene is becoming popular don't you think? There are many participating in that. I'm not justifying that and I know that it is dangerous. But there are people who can't participate in the official drags and some who can't wait for the drags to happen AND some who think it's a waste of time and effort since a certain "son" is racing in almost every category. I might be wasting my father's money but go figure whose money that bugger is wasting Yeah bro... That's a good idea but I don't have a bike license since my mother is traumatized from the thought of me riding bikes

Since you are eager to know let me tell you about myself. I'm a 20-year old student with no income at all and I'm living off my parents money. So I don't have the luxury to "throw" money at the things I want. I will have to be satisfied with whatever my father buys me and mind you he's NOT the president of Sri Lanka. What I need a turbo is purely for the thrill of it. To go fast that's it. I don't participate in the drags and I don't street race on Saturday nights but I would love to do both of those things. I don't see how my mindset is much different from others in this forum. Maybe you are a not a brat like me but a true driver. But I don't see your "mighty" Subaru Forester taking part in the drags as well. Isn't it "turbocharged". Or haven't you spent "serious money" on it?. All I need performance is for the pure thrill of it. Hope this answered all of your questions. You could be helpful and share your knowledge or be a judgemental prick. Whatever helps you to sleep easier at night
