  1. Well, 2WD MZ will cost around 1.8-2.0 m Yen in Japan, import tax in Sri Lanka is Rs.1.25 m. With all other expenses it comes around Rs. 4.0-4.3 m when it comes here. So not that bad. But the 4WD version is bit too high.
  2. ..congratulations !
  3. Hi Mate, Its good to hear that you bought a Xbee. In fact I was following this car even before it was officially released in Japan. It is a good car according to the reviews from Japan. I also had a look of one of the units for sale in Sri Lanka since. Of course the interior is far better than the WagonR. According to my calculations, price is bit bloated. Because this car has the lowest import tax in this category (LKR 1.25 m). Higher price tag could be the case since all these units come to SL are unused in Japan. Probably second hand ones may be reduced later. However it may be too early to say lot of things. So you can share your experience, driving comfort, fuel economy, safety, performance, etc. If you don't mind you can share the price you bought including few pics. ? Cheers !
  4. Thanks mate, please keep update us. ?
  5. Any updates on fuel consumption figures ?
  6. Thanks buddy, According to your feed back its fuel consumption figures are almost similar to BAIC X25 . But some of the reviews claim it to be 14 kmpl ?? https://www.motoring.com.au/mg-zs-2018-review-111417/specs/ http://www.carconversation.com.au/reviews/2018-mg-zs-review Another question comes to my mind is the fuel category to be used. Euro 4, 5, 6?? Is that available in SL ?

  8. Bdw is your location details are correct ??
  9. Hi Quiet Thank you for the feedback. In fact one of my friends already placed the order and insisting me on that. Yes, you may be correct, because of the low price tag compared to other suv/crossovers made in Japan and Korea. My main concern is the fuel economy figures, which they claim 6L per 100km. Any MG users in the forum and comment on this as well as the engine performances. Cheers
  10. It is manufactured in China for European market
  11. Any idea of this new suv, manufactured in China for European market. Currently which is available for a price tag of Rs.4.6 -4.8 million at the local agents, M**ro Cars Ltd. This has two variants, 1.5-litre non-turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol . If anyone already using this model, please share your views with us. Thank You.
  12. Thank You for all the information. Finally it is replaced with a reconditioned battery with a six months warranty. Before that car was running without the hybrid battery for a while and it ruined the regular battery as well. As you aware s-ene charging system draw the power from hybrid battery during the pick up. If hybrid battery is dead, system draw the power from regular battery (though I was not expecting) . which exhaust the regular battery and ending it soon. Wishing All of you a Very Happy New Year with Good Health, Wealth and Happiness. !!
  13. Hi Mate, Not sure whether you could fix the issue so far. Is your issue with an abnormal vibration as car is moving slowly but not idling ? What was the rpm (roughly) at the highest level of vibration ? Do you get the same vibration when you move at higher speeds ( increase / reduce or same) ? Note on 3 cylinder vs 4 cylinder: As others commented , dynamic balance of the 3 pod engines are lower that of 4 pods due the angle of the cam with respect to the firing of a 4-stroke engine. This is the reason why not many car manufactures concerned on 3-pods several years back. But 3 pod engines have several advantages over 4 pods, such as lower friction (less surface to volume ratio), lower weight of the engine block, lower, more room for cabin space and eventually lower production cost. Also they offer better fuel economy over 4 pods. Same time there are drawbacks such as vibration, low torque and power , high rpm. But with recent developments, most of these dynamic balance issues have overcome remarkably. Incorporation of turbo charging and integrated motors (hybrid) have solved the issues with slow pickup as well. Thanks
  14. Any idea of cost of replacing the hybrid battery in vezel ? where to buy and warranty details ? please share if you have.
  15. Hi Folks, Do you know whether the Sri Lankan vehicle registration statistics (brand, model, month of registration, quantity, etc) are available to the public ? Time to time I read news articles publishing these statistics. Perhaps publicly disclosing these information may not be allowed by automobile agents, importers. ?? http://www.dailymirror.lk/article/Reconditioned-car-registrations-surge-in-January-146672.html
  16. As Rumesh mentioned, most probably it can be faulty idle control valve. Why don't you take it to a professional ? Following threads may be helpful https://itstillruns.com/kia-sportage-idle-problem-symptoms-8054400.html https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2002-kia-sportage-engine-27270893 https://www.2carpros.com/questions/kia-sportage-1999-kia-sportage-car-dies-when-brakes-are-pressed-amp-ta
  17. Agreed. I also used to do it. But modern full synthetic oils can perform higher mileages without a significant loss in their properties compared to conventional oils. Specially for b/n or very low mileage, it is recommended to go for thinner oils , difficult to find conventional oils in that viscosity range.
  18. Presently constructions of the Kurunegala interchange is underway. Which is located behind P&S in the Kandy-Kurunegala road just after Kurunegala Station. I visited the site twice and you can see a massive concrete bridge girder manufacturing yard too. According to the engineers at site, current allocations are only up to the Muttetugala Station in Colombo-Dambulls road. They have started constructions between Pothuhera and Kurungeala stretch also. Google Satellite images have not been updated since the start of constructions, otherwise could get a better idea.
  19. If you can afford go for Jap brand. They offer better performance, comfort ability.
  20. This will be taxed under <2000 cm3 hybrid tax bracket. So it is 2000 x 5000 = Rs 10.0 m. Better get down under a permit. Cheers
  21. Just to add one more thing to your knowledge. Two days back I had a visit to the head office of one of the leading engine oil brands in Sri Lanka. I had a chat with the head of the sales about the shelf life and expiry date of the oils. According to him most of the oils are marked with manufactured dates and it will stand its properties for a limited period on shelf. This shelf life may vary and it can be up to 2-5 years. After that period oil starts its decomposition process. According to him, expired oils offer lower performances that of new oil. In Sri Lanka, some dealers get the oils through various importers (not directly through the agents) thus enough room to play around with these printed manufactured dates. Be more concern on what you are paying for. Thanks
  22. The first number (10W or 15W) has no meaning in tropical conditions. It is the cold start viscousity. But second number yes. Higher the number thicker the oil and vice versa. Usually , higher the temperature, lower the viscousity (i.e. thinner the oil) . As engine heated up, viscousity drops. This high temperature viscousity matters the performance, fuel economy, etc.. In modern synthetic oils these viscosity variations in higher temperatures are better controlled. In general, thicker the oil, better the protection for engine, but engine needs to work more to overcome the resistance. It may also have an impact on your fuel pumping and filtering system as well. If the oil is thinner it becomes more flowable and less resistance at higher temperature. For engines with higher mileage plus possible wear and tear may experience less fuel efficiency with thinner oils. Also drop in the oil level. That is why people go for higher thickness oils. In your case better to use SAE 40. Additonally refer the manufactured date of the oil. Generally the shelf life of motor oil is 2 years. It will experience natural decomposition even during the storage. Always change the filters at every oil change. I don't strictly go by the mileage for changing the oil. It depends on your driving habits, operating temperature of your engine, condition of your engine. All these standards developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers SAE Viscosity Grade[°C] Min. Viscosity [mm²/s] at 100 °C Max. Viscosity [mm²/s] at 100 °C High Shear Rate Viscosity [mPa.s] at 150 °C 0W 3.8 -- -- 5W 3.8 -- -- 10W 4.1 -- -- 15W 5.6 -- -- 20W 5.6 -- -- 25W 9.3 -- -- 20 5.6 <9.3 2.6 30 9.3 <12.5 2.9 40 12.5 <16.3 2.9 * 40 12.5 <16.3 3.7 ** 50 16.3 <21.9 3.7 60 21.9 <26.1 3.7 * 0W-40, 5W-40 & 10W-40 grades ** 15W-40, 20W-40, 25W-40 & 40 grades Reference: http://www.viscopedia.com/viscosity-tables/substances/sae-viscosity-grades/
  23. Suzuku Wagon R, 2015 - MH44S model is identified with a hybrid battery issue. In the Dashboard hybrid system indicator on right side, battery charging arrow (from wheels to battery) do not pop up during deceleration. When the batter was checked with Hybrid repair professionals, they said battery has dead. I don't think time of the battery is up by now. Still less than 3 years of use. It claim Rs. 150,000/= for the replacement and again not sure whether those are genuine or not. What are the possible reasons for premature hybrid battery failure ? Any users of Wagon-R here.
  24. I mean second hand. If a particular model doesn't attract much popularity, it will definitely less demanded in the auctions even. Example Suzuki Baleno. Anyway we have to to wait and see.
