  1. Hi Rumesh88 - When engine is cold RPM sits at 1500 and then slowly cm down to 800, I never felt any miss though.. i feel it specially lets say i go in the 2nd gear and speed is around 20-30 and if i take the leg off from the padel, then also i get a sort of a jerk.. is that normal...? Same sort of jerk comes when AC engages and kick off during above mentioned speed limit specially.. However i can check what u told, and give my feedback today..
  2. in idle it works smoothly .. i can hardly feel AC is engaging and disengaging.. However my car is a manual, so when i speed within 20-40kmh range and lets say i shifted from 1st to second gear when speed is 20kmh and if suddenly AC kicks in during that time, i feel it bit hard, with a sudden vibration.. other than that it not noticeable
  3. Inboxed
  4. where do u live machan? if you are around colombo, and dont mind taking this to Nawala, i can give u my mechs contact no to get it sorted.. or else you may try Nilwala motors for gearbox related repairs
  5. When was the last time you did an ATF oil change? and how many KM's have u done after that? For me it looks like the pressure isn't enough to move the car when its cold in D position. You can try out by changing gear box oil. This may resolve your problem if it hasn't been changed in proper intervals. But if you have done it with recommended intervals + with recommended oil, then ur gearbox has worn out. There are places where you can get it resolved, if not you may have to go for a recon gearbox. Keep us posted on your findings. By the way, to me it looks like pressure loss therefore even if u keep the vehicle in start and in P position for 10-15mins, i suppose you should be able to drive it with putting directly to D position. Just check this out and let us know. Cz One of my cousin had a serena and he faced the same issue and im quite familiar with it. if the gearbox is worn out, then changing fluid will resolve it for few days and not completely.. Issue will arise again after couple of days.
  6. Damn you've got ripped off big time hmm.... I never go to such places. Just find a trust worthy local garage and you can get things done for really reasonable price.. Just to add to what @Vengeance mentioned, i replaced all the oil seals of my honda+ steering rack seals + some steering bushes+new 4liter (mobile) oil can+ new oil filter+some other tiny stuff and for all the stuff it cost me 32000 only including labor (this includes taking the engine and gear box out to replace all the seals) PS. I used all genuine seals from authorized dealer Lessons leanrt -> do not come into conclusions without doing your home work properly, otherwise it will cost you alot. Cz these days its really hard to trust these people.
  7. Does it idle properly? Just check whether your battery terminals are tightened properly. Bcz recently i had sort of similar issue due to above mentioned reason.. If it doesn't work out, better to get your car scanned ..
  8. Hi DKING Did you have any delays in starting the car prior to stater motor failure (may be like week or 2 prior, for an example you feel like it starts with difficulty, mostly you'll feel like weak battery sort of feeling) ? For me it sounds like your starter motor bushes are gone (assuming battery is fine). Also check your battery terminal whether those are intact tight enough and both positive and negative terminal are clean (no oxide).. Cz last week i faced the same issue, as in my starter motor gave up , worked sometimes but not always.. Initially i thought battery is weak, but then I saw oxide in + terminal, and i cleaned it, and issue resolved.
  9. try panchikawatta.. you should be able to find one for a cheaper price.. UM motors will give you big no's for spare parts.. You won't believe they just asked 1500rs for my lancer gear bush (each). since i needed 4 of them, i just got it re-bushed for lesser cost.
  10. Yup as everyone mentioned, when was the last time you did a gearbox oil change? I believe its better to start with a oil flush and see how it works.. If it didnt sort your prob, then you can show this to a professional gearbox repairing mechanic and do the needful repairs/ go for a recon gearbox.. If im not mistaken, these model gearboxes are fairly cheap.. Once when i was hunting for cars, came across with one of these and the owner told me he replaced the gearbox with a recon and cost him around 15-25k (if im not mistaken)
  11. yeah.. couldn't follow things up last few days hehe.. Happy that you somehow resolved your issue ..
  12. Where do you live? Depending on that can suggest a mechanic (if needed)
  13. Meantime check the tires as well.. There could be wires broken inside the tire which isn't visible for us. Also check the tie rods and front suspension, engine and gear box mounts.. And you can perform some simple test by jacking up the front of the car and ask someone to hold the steering straight and steady and u try moving the both front tires left and right.. if its wobbling , better get that checked as well. since that could be the cause for the vibration..
  14. Yah i can recommend him, because I've known this mechanic for almost 15+ years. Please do call him on 0722 196030 (vipula).. don't just go for a engine repair unless he check and suggest you to do one..
  15. If you are close to nawala i can give my mechanic contact no .. PM me if interested..
  16. Im not quite sure whether cleaning this will help you out. But its worth trying since buying a new one cost you a fortune. Also I have seen few youtube videos where they soak and wash the catalytic converter and they claim it works (could be vary depending on how badly damaged ) However, I hope experts who have similar experience will help you out. BUMP...
  17. great.. I also once did the same with a piece of cardboard and mine survived almost 2 years... However, if was not very flexible like the original fitting.. So need to handle with care, otherwise there is a tendency of breaking inner parts..
  18. Looks like a problem with idle controlling valve.. could it be due to blockage of fuel pump or filter as well? i had same sort of engine knock specially when engine was hot.. after tuneup it was ok for about 2 days then issue came up again.. later replace the fuel pump inside the tank and issue vanished ...
  19. check with tec motors, or else you will be able to find it in panchikawatta if you walk around a bit.
  20. Turn the steering fully to right side and check whether you are loosing oil (check whether oil is dripping on the floor), if so probably you're oil seals are gone (if shaft is fine, then replacing the oil seals should do the trick), worst case shaft is damaged.. (if no leaks in right side, then check left)
  21. above pic looks like a cat to me.. hmmm how ever if its possible just diconnect ur silencer from the rear end( by removing the silencer with the attached bolts) and check.. if there is any issue with the silencer it should be resolved as per my understanding.
  22. Hi Machan.. I can give you the no of my mechanic. he does a good job in terms of electrical stuff including ECU's (im pretty sure he is in a position to resolve ur previous ecu issue) If interested please call Vipula motors on 0722 - 196 030
  23. yah lancers usually comes with resonators.. Even my previous Cb1 had the same.. This doesnt look like a cat to me (cat looks bit different from the outer appearance too)
