    I only went ahead with coop because of their low premium when comparing with others at that point. Plus I had my previous car’s insurance transferred to the new one so I only had to pay the remaining balance. A friend of mine who is with coop told me that it took him a month to get his claim post repairing his car over a small accident.

    3.85 mil.Do you think that 68k is too much? For my previous car which was valued at 2.8 mil I paid 50k for the premium.

    I have only used "N" position when parking the Car. Get the vehicle to a complete stop. apply the Hand brake, Put the gear to "N" while applying the service brake. then shift the Gear to "P", foot off the service brake and then stop the engine.

    Let's assume the waiting time is more than 1 min. I think in such instances it's better to use "P" + handbrake as opposed to "N". "Neutral" is there for specific situations like towing the car or in case if you need to push the car right? It has not been designed to use at traffic lights..?.

    I was actually looking for a dashcam for the Demio before. I gave it away with the car. Naa I always forget. This is one of those situations where I had to park under the sun for a couple of hours ( I could not catch that specific sweet spot at our office car park which I always manage to do). I bring her to Colombo occasionally and keep her parked at my office until friday because I do not have parking space at the place where I am staying. Fyi she has dashcams in front and back.

    Yeah talk about it mate. It was just frightening to see. Unfortunately I could not be there all the time while they were doing the repair.Luckily the AC shop is within walking distance from my office and I was able to go there frequently and inspect what they were doing.

    @Davy, Thanks. They quoted 10k for both plasti dipping and the labour. I actually went through your DIY thread on plasti dipping the wheels before and that was one of the reasons I wanted to do a DIY at home.

    Thanks for the compliment. Yes I have seen couple of Exs with those headlight and taillight conversions, Looks dapper. But for the moment I am happy with my HID projector headlamps.

    @tiv Thanks for the compliment brother. considering that I am planning to keep the car for a longtime there might be a possibility. But I guess there will be lots of complications in that approach. So I am happy the way she is. Of course there will be some mechanical and cosmetic upgrades in the future. but I Can't say that conversion did not cross my mind.

    Update guys, ( after 8 months of ownership, Odo @ 113k) So as I stated previously My car's Ac system was not working properly. It was blowing hot air. I recharged the system once and 2 months later 'Voila' hot air all over. Realized it was time to revisit and revamp the system. So I got the entire system checked from a reputed place and the main culprit turned out to be the cooling evaporator ( Thanks to our valuable member @trinity for giving me an early tip in this regard). However my condenser was also in a pretty rough shape. So I got both the evaporator and the condenser replaced. At first I was pretty much second guessing this repair cause in order to gain access to the system the entire dashboard had to be taken out. granted if I had done this repair at the agent that would have cost me more than 100k. ( the genuine cooler at the agents roughly around 50k). luckily the Ac shop guys did a pretty decent job in dismantling and refitting the system. knew they did a good job as they took almost 1.5 days to complete the job. If the condition of the dashboard was 100% before the repair I would say now it's sitting at about 99%. There are some inevitable minor signs of a repair. However I can definitely live with 1% less. following outlines the cost breakdown. Cooling evaporator (Thai)-22k Condenser (Thai)-28k Cabin AC filter-2.4k labor cost ( Removing and servicing the system, Recharging etc.)- 12k Further as of late I had constantly hesitant cold starts+ slightly dimmer headlights. So it was time for a new battery change. So I gave up my good old 'Yuasa' Battery (which by the way has lasted for almost 6 years) and replaced with New Amaron 55D23L battery ( Thanks to our lancer enthusiast @Hyaenidae for the positive recommendation). Coming up, I am planning to plasti dip my wheels (in matte black of course?). The paint of the wheels kind of flaking off here and there. Are these spray cans available in Sri lanka? if so how much? ( I badly want to DIY this ) Anyway I found a good place in dehiwala. They quoted 10k for all 4 wheels. Which is quite okay I presume.The idea is currently hovering in my head. Not going to leave you guys without any pics. ( Sorry I could not capture many pics. It's raining 24/7. so some are new and some are old), Enjoy and happy motoring!!

    I let the battery shop guys do their job. FYI my previous Yuasa battery (Japan made) has lasted almost 6 years without any trouble. So yeah let’s expect at least 5 years of use.

    @Hyaenidae I assume you have already changed the battery.Was it amaron? My one also seems to be going out. Hesitant cold start, headlights are dimmer than usual.etc. So in need of replacement.

    @Sanda-Ru1 I used to own one and it gave me about 9-10 Kms under heavy traffic and about 14-16 kms outstation. To put that into perspective I used to pump about 15-20 litres to travel from gampola to Colombo and back which was about 260kms.

    What I actually wanted to point out was that this beef between Chrisfix and Scotty has been going on for sometime.This beef is coming from scotty only. So mostly it is one sided ( granted chris does not give a damn). If scotty wanted to he would have posted such a video about Hummers long time back. He waited until Chris bought his dream Car and the motive of Scotty's video is not to point out the unreliability of the hummer. He wants to hit back at chrisfix video because chrisfix has more subscribers and more views than scotty. in other words chrisfix is on a whole another level. I believe the Old man is shaking with envy and Jealousy.
