    S and X are both same except that the X is with few more options like the multifunction and the touch AC panel.If you are a man who loves extra options then it's the X. But the 2014 S is same as or even lesser than the 2013 X. Within the same year, the S is some 200k lesser I would consider S ( multifunction can be added locally if you really need it.) But it's your choice You might think that the second hand market is more with the car which has lot of options Which is not correct always in my experience

    Simple. Transfer it now at least. You can do it with a past date, but will have to pay a panelty. Most probably the insurance company will ask for the papers in your name At least in our case they did ask for it ( SLR 3 years ago )

    Previous government restricted the permit usage by increasing the customs FOB values. So PRADO,DISCOVERY,Fully loaded MONTERO, and most other luxury cars were not allowed to bring in. But the new government, reduced those FOB values in march this year. So there was a huge influx of luxury vehicles, especially PRADOs, all of you would have noticed And now the same government is saying that the foreign exchange is limited, so the number of cars should be limited.

    No the 3 million worth aqua belong to my wife who is also a doctor. Funds from BOC personal loan, 2.5 million I myself bought a Montero V 98 for my own permit, which cost me 7.3 million Funds by selling the previous V78 montero, which was my 4th vehicle ( bought by selling the hilux KUN 25R plus a personal loan from NDB ) Yes, it is true, I began with some inherited money I m not talking about my own permit here. In fact most doctors were able to buy something for their permits It s regarding all the government servants.

    I, myself as a doctor I report for work at 6 am. Work till 6pm at least. And once a week till 8-9pm. Maybe 12 mid night. I see at least 100 patients a day. Have to do surgeries, some of them are very urgent -so can't postpone I have waited hours in the hospital till a theatre get free to operate on an urgent patient. Most of my patience a poor of the poorest, who cannot afford for a drug costs Rs 100. I have never done private practice for my entire 6 year service You want believe this, but this is same for most my colleagues..... We could have done even better, if we can get few more facilities, which is in the hands of politicians of the country. You calculate the value of the work I do, I am 100% sure I work more than the salary I get. Most people blame for the government service, but it is not correct always.

    People who work fro private organisation do not take all the money home, they do pay tax Tax ? How much? it's only the workers who earn more than 200,000 per month are asked to pay tax now. None of the government servants, except very few like consultant doctors, will have to pay tax. Most government officers holding top posts even earn less than 100,000. Paying 15,000 as tax while earning over 300,000 is much different to earning some 70,000 and not paying tax.

    Most of the private sector workers also got free education. Isn't it? Country needs government servants Just because they had the education free, you can't cut off their privileges Doing so will collapse the system.

    my wife has an aqua 2014 it does 12-14 km/l in city ( city means within the colombo city, from kirulapana to borella), few occasions it went below 10 km/l even - depending on the traffic conditions many people boast about their city fuel figures, but what they claim city is not actual city Eg : from homagama or piliyandala to colombo, they have a considerable distance to travel without heavy traffic, so their figures higher so I feel your car is completely normal do not expect miracles from hybrids

    It was the same government that reduced the customs values of the big SUV s ( after increasing the hybrid taxes ). In March the government reduced the customs value from yen 2.9 million to 2.5 million for Montero. The price went down by SLR 1.7 million. For the Prado from 36000 usd in to 3.3 million yen. So the prices came down by nearly 5 million. Same happened to discovery etc. But now they do the reverse after allowing car sellers have a good stock of SUVs

Customs values for Mercedes benz are being increased So now even C220 is not possible import for any of the permits Same thing happened to pajero, all the landrovers except freelander, most audi s Very soon the prado and BMWs will also come to the end So that may be the end of the permit story

    unless the government duty concession permits are cancelled the prices are actually going down. the only suv ( among commonly used models) cannot be imported for that permit is the land cruiser 200 series your observation is totally incorrect

    no you dont have to toyota 2din size is little bit different (wider - 200mm) than the conventional 2din size so buy a player maching with the size kenwood has introduced a series "for toyota" Eg:http://www.kenwood.com/india/car/visual_navigation/ddx630wbt/ other brands too have introduced players specifically for toyota cheapest would be unbranded Chinese one even a usual 2din player like what you are interested (pioneer) can be fixed but you will have to use additional plastic covers (clips) to cover the extra space if you are buying in sri lanka tell the shop man that you are looking a one for a toyota - he ll give you the correct one ( I assume)
