    Replace Car Battery

Exides don't last long but are cheap. Amaron batteries are good.
  4. The thing with recondition shocks is you never know how long they have been used or when they would give up. If you are planning on keeping the car for a long time, the KYBs would be a good investment. The Excel-G shock absorbers make the swift handle really well due to the firm setup but it also slightly reduces ride comfort over bad roads.
  5. Yup, over to you!
  6. Toyota Corolla AE82?
  7. Audi 80. Quick, Good job, and onto you! ?
  8. I'm a big fan of those "sliced bread" gear shifter boot cover in the old jap cars. I could swear they make the shifting experience much smoother.
  9. Nissan Juke?
  10. Those 2 cars can be had for less than that. Search up some previous autolanka threads discussing the above cars using the Google search bar and alot of info will come up. Your budget range (4mil) has been covered so many times in the past. The Civic FD1 has a 1800cc i-VTEC (R18) engine which is quite a nice unit. Can even get some cars with options like sunroof, paddle shifters and leather. The Resale value is strong but not as strong as the 1600cc FD4 variant. Parts are reasonably priced for a 10-15 year old car and have good availability. the agents have parts too but of course you will get robbed there. The Mazda 3/Axela on the other hand is known as the poor man's BMW due to the solid Build quality and fun to drive aspect. Reliable car, parts are well available and a few specialist shops around too. There are only small differences between the Axela and 3 (engine capacity difference of 100cc, intended for different markets and a few options) search up the forums for more info. The 3 is slightly more powerful than the Axela. Can get a BK5P (2004-2008) car for less than 3 or even a BL5P (2008 - 2013) for less than 4. This forum is a knowledge gold mine for Lancers too, I can't emphasize that enough. Read around about the Lancer EX and see if that suits you. If you like hatchbacks, the Swift RS is also a nice car to drive and fairly new compared to the other cars mentioned. Both had manual gearbox as an option but are very very rare. A few weeks back an FD1 manual and Mazda3 manual came up for sale in FB. Whatever the car is, take it to a reputable service center or inspection place like the Agents (Stafford for Honda, Colonial for Mazda, Unimo for Mitsubishi, A*W for Suzuki), CarChecks or Grease monkey. Drive and see if it suits your taste. Best of luck with the purchase!
  11. Lots of issues with them. From the auto gearbox to electronics, although the engine is know to be reliable when maintained properly using genuine spare parts. But of course, expensive. Some of them were bought by people who found it to be a cheap car to buy, but of course not cheap to maintain. If you really want a good to drive Peugeot, a 406 is better. Relative to a Japanese car of the same year, a 406 costs more to maintain but its still manageable. But since you are new to the topic of cars, I say a Civic FD1 or Mazda 3 will offer you great pleasure, comfort and reliability/cost of maintenance for your budget. They look good too and are even more solidly built than most modern Peugeots. @tilvin
  12. "The absurd 407" ?
  13. A 407 for 45 lakhs.. Haha who is asking that price? And the 407 never came with a 1.5 diesel. Are you sure this is a 407 we are talking about?
  14. .. "The lot of it" Gotta complete the sentence bro, then only it sounds properly British ?
  15. When it comes to the MC engined bikes (Jade, CBR, Hornets), check the chassis/engine numbers, alot of them have been pecked/messed with. Then check the book. Don't try to buy a bike without documents and mess around. Yes it's cheap as chips but it's not worth it and you will be fed up. If the price is too good to be true, then it usually is.
  16. For motorbikes it's usually 2000/- odds. But by unregistered, do you mean a reconditioned hornet with all the legal documents being sold by a shop..or an illegal import with no documents whatsoever?
  17. Really?? Senok-ish as in under Senok control or having the same pricing attitude as the Senok fellows? ?
  18. DriveOne does Audi now. VW is still under Senok.
  19. Try Taiyo in Mt. Lavinia. Golf Motor house in panchikawatte. Gamlath motors in panchi might have the parts as well. Compare the prices and see. The agents do the work perfectly but of course the pricing is also up there.
  20. Relatable. I was also on the lookout for a project car. Inspected 4 cars, all of them don't have their revenue done for several years. So hard for our people to get revenue done these days lol (Mind you these cars aren't abandoned either, they run time to time, one was even owned by a doctor.) Also about the cost, it won't be big (a few thousand rupees per year) and you can inquire from the RMV. Like mentioned above, it's the sellers responsibility. If he can't get it done, there's also the possibility that something sketchy is going on so be wary. Good luck on the purchase!
