Between the FD1 & FD4 get the FD1 it has a 1.8L engine and paddle shift which will make it a bit more sporty since that seems to be ur main requirement although as I stated above fuel consumption is a bit on the high side... Good luck with ur purchase, post some pics when u get it...

I honestly have no idea.. I have no heard any major issues with the insight unlike the civic non-facelift fd3 civic hybrid which has all sorts of IMA battery problems. My guess is that around 3.3 is the going rate as an unreg one can be found for around 3.8...
-
If u can stretch a bit u can easily pick up a registered insight for around 3.3, a reg fit hybrid for around 3 and a reg prius 2nd gen for around 3.5... Or Even a 2008 Yaris/Belta.. Get the 1300cc version though.. the 1000cc doesn't do that well on fuel.. Not that i'm a toyota lover but it's a newer car compared to some of the others in the price range so chances are you'll have fewer running repairs..

You're absolutely right. What's more disturbing is I have even encountered this situation at certain agents too... Thank god for the internet & google as we are now no longer at the mercy of solely what they tell us..

You can also try SIlva Motor House Katunayake. They have 2 huge yards with parts from cars I have never seen before.. Another place is Vikasitha Enterprises just passed Nugegoda, close to Maharagama...

For high mileage.. I have heard from tyre dealers such as U&H, Olympic, Amila that the Goodyear Duraplus lasts a long time and is quite comfortable too.. No personal experience, perhaps some other members might be able to shed some light..

Your mechanic is wrong. the 1.6L has more than 10hp more than the 1.5L for JDM cars (asian market) Read this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_A_engine It highlights all the difference in the A-engines.. Extracts from above link: 5A-FEToyota joint venture partner Tianjin FAW Xiali now produces the 5A-FE (dubbed 5A+) for its Vela and Weizhi (C1) subcompact sedans. Output for the 1987 FI version was 104 hp (78 kW) at 6000 rpm and 97 lb·ft (131 N·m) at 4800 rpm. The later one produced 100 hp (75 kW) at 5600 rpm and 102 lb·ft (138 N·m) at 4400 rpm. The version now produced by Xiali produces 100 hp (75 kW) at 6000 rpm and 96 lb·ft (130 N·m) at 4400 rpm. 4A-FE Engine displacement: 1.6 L (1,587 cc) Layout: DOHC Inline-4 (Straight-4) Valves: 16, 4 for each cylinder Power: 113 hp (84 kW; 115 PS) at 5,800 rpm (Europe spec: 110 PS (81 kW) at 6,000 rpm) (Asian spec: 115 PS (85 kW) at 6,000 rpm) Torque: 101 lb·ft (145 N·m) at 4,800 rpm Redline: 6300 rpm Fuel Delivery System: MPFI

Hi abc.. AT19X/CT19X engine types: 5A-FE - 1.5L (AT192) 4A-FE - 1.6L (AT190) 7A-FE - 1.8L (AT191) 3S-FE - 2.0L (ST195 - 4WD) 2C - 2.0L Diesel (CT190) & 4WD (CT195) As such, if ur chassis code is AT192, your car originally came with 1.5L 5A-FE engine which is what is shown on the registration certificate. Differs from 4A-FE as shown above in that 5A-FE is 1.5L whereas 4A-FE is 1.6L. The engine number is usually embossed/engraved somewhere on the engine. I'm not sure of the exact location, perhaps another member would be able to help out. If the engine no differs from the number indicated on the registration certificate then the engine has been changed. Hope this helps..

Hi chanaka89 & welcome to the the Autolanka forums... Just a friendly word from one member to another.. Advertising is not allowed on forums.. If u want to advertise you have to use the classifieds section.. Better take it down before one of the moderators comes along -
Hi JDMNitro & welcome to the Autolanka forums... Assuming we are looking at a registered FD civic as it is no longer in production and hence, not available on the permit and not the new FB series civic. If we were to take the FD1 (1.8L which generally comes with paddle shift, sunroof etc) & not the FD3 (1.3L Hybrid) or FD4 (1.6L) as they are slighty less powerful since u a considering a more sport oriented drive. I have also left out the FD2 (2.0L as I haven't seen any here) and the FD2R (2.0L Type-R which is not available in ur budget). The civic FD would no doubt be the better option in terms of comfort, performance & resale. However, the lancer which is mostly 1500cc would be more fuel efficient, although there is a JDM galant (same body as lancer) which has a 1.8L which I have not considered as u have referred to the lancer which is available on the permit. Hold on a bit though and let the other members share their thoughts too.. Good luck with your purchase...

Welcome to the forum scoobydeux... If the cars mentioned are not maintained at senok perhaps you should find out where they were maintained.. If they were maintained by specialists such as Nadeera Jinasena (Dynamic Racing), Sabry Abdul Salam (Raptor Performance), Ashan SIlva (Drag & Drift Performance), Darin Weerasinghe (B.R.J.W. Enterprises) or Sajaad Zuhair (Auto Force) I think you would still have nothing to worry about. However, since jdnet has confirmed that the car bearing reg no: HD-4334 has met with a serious accident it would be better to stay away from it. Since you are in the market for a B4, why not speak to Jehan Xavier at Senok (Subaru Service) in Grandpass and ask him if he knows if any of the cars serviced/maintained by them that are currently up for sale?

Anonymous, please update this thread when you have more info as I too like to know what the procedure is to import a phone because as you say written approval must be obtained from TRC for this.

Davy.. There is a rumour that an updated nexus 4 will be out in May with a possible unveiling at the Google I/O conference. Why not wait till then and see? Even if it doesn't meet ur fancy surely if a new model is released the price of the older one should drop at least a little. Please note that is not a brand new model of nexus but just an update of the nexus 4. New nexus phones are usually released somewhere around Q4 of every year. Hit the link below for more info: http://www.gsmarena.com/google_rumored_to_launch_an_updated_nexus_4_with_lte_support-news-5894.php

And then swap out the petrol engine of the prius and retrofit the e90 diesel so you'll have a e90 320d chassis with prius drivetrain and 320d engine combined with prius electric synergy drive? Should give u around 22-25 kmpl in colombo and around 30 out i'm guessing

Here's the link to the youtube vid for the onboard cam on Kaushalya's car... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC0wOyDyWCM
