Just a hobby...... and sound in stats rather than statements...? Record book always available in the glove-box so writing insitu and just enter to excel sheet every few months. Not a big task...

Retrieving my old post...... This is the latest situation with exact figures. Fuel consumption figure is almost same as at 5,400 ODO (18.56 km/l) and 59,000 ODO (18.19 km/l). * Driving pattern - Always at Eco mode but No caring of fuel. * Service and Maintenance cost includes new tire set valued Rs.60,000

Below image shows same original cabin filter which available in Vitz 2017. It says "Replace only, Do Not Service". Theoretically you cannot service it, but in our context, yes... it may cost effective.
-
1. 2017 Vitz means just 1 year and how about the millage? Normally original cabin filters can be used at-least 20,000 km in Sri Lanka. I used original filter 30,000 km (with full-time air re-circulation mode) without any flow drop. Yaris 2017 manual says replacement in 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 3 years or in dusty conditions 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or 1.5 years. Do not depend on service center people always..... 2. I have experience with VIC one as well and it will last only 15,000 km. No harm of using it for AC system. and its cost effective. Note: my concern is, sometimes you may be replacing your good and healthy original filter for a cheaper aftermarket one before end of its life.

As what I understood, Usable capacity not means the xx% of its original capacity. "Usable capacity" is the capacity which allowed by battery management program to use for operations. In other words, it determined by the allowed "Dept of Discharge" by the control program. So its a control program dependent value. So, both of above SOC or Usable capacity is not directly implies the battery ageing. Sorry if I am wrong.......

100% agreed..... With increasing vehicle population, its high time to setup proper governing bodies as well as clear regulatory structure (with a system to assurance whether regulations are met - this is what we haven't every where) covering selling, maintenance, and dispose of motor vehicles. Even government should re-evaluate the "used car" importation system (whether it further continues or not) which have messed everything with non-regulated car sellers (no difference than private bus conductors). As I remember, FCV tax is considerably lowered by 2015 or 2016 budget (not sure its increased later).

Not sure whether this is applicable to peugeot407, however, this statement nicely fit with more others here like vxxx.... Yes...... for a developing country like us, 110's are the best...... who knows hi-tech....... The word "replace" is replacing the word "repair" gradually with cost effectiveness and durability but for us still "repair" sounds more friendly...

I took this photo on 15th October 2016 while on airport drop by Kan*roo cab. It's 2011 Prius and 499,355 km ODO at that time. According to the driver, only two drivers are riding this car from the very first day so he knows well about the vehicle. No battery replacement or no engine repair. However few repairs done but I cant remember all what he told. Suspensions were bad at that time and its replaced once before. Not bad for taxi company/driver............................ At-least they may saved 1.5 million by fuel during 3-4 years.

Range is not updated after fuel refill - Toyota Aqua 2015
gayanath replied to mgtdan n9i8u's question in Electrical problems
What a ........... you are? ?? After all your theories of Automotive design, safety and software, still we are at same point. I have an Aqua. I experienced the range issue occasionally while refueling such as OP. While gauge perfectly updating (which means floater - hardware - working well) range shows same value just before refuel. But car runs perfectly every time without an issue. @Sadik has experienced same in Allions and X-trails. So, what is your suggestion to OP rather than thousands of talks? Ask OP to send the car to Toyota to investigate this safety critical issue and then Toyota may recall all Aquas (+ Allions and Nissan for X-trails)? You better select politics in Sri Lanka ........ ?? -
Range is not updated after fuel refill - Toyota Aqua 2015
gayanath replied to mgtdan n9i8u's question in Electrical problems
You have nothing to do with this research paper and this is regarding the gauge. But the OP's matter is Range not the gauge. Gauge is critical but range is additional indicative feature for vehicles (though its becoming a stranded feature now). Actually, I too have a question why range not updates while gauge is working properly (It should be just a calculation). But that's how it is. Since X-trails also having same issue, Shall we write this to All Japanese car makers..... After all get heart attacks, Prof. @vag2 could be head of Toyota and Nissan. -
Ha..... ha.... ?? Part 1. - Fire Risk Read this..... https://insideevs.com/exploring-and-understanding-the-fire-risk-for-electric-cars/ Highlights: "The propensity and severity of fires and explosions from … lithium ion battery systems are anticipated to be somewhat comparable to or perhaps slightly less than those for gasoline or diesel vehicular fuels." ". . . gasoline powered cars are about 11 times more likely to catch fire than a Tesla. It says the best comparison is fires per 1 billion miles driven. It says the 300,000 Teslas on the road have been driven a total of 7.5 billion miles, and about 40 fires have been reported. That works out to five fires for every billion miles traveled, compared to a rate of 55 fires per billion miles traveled in gasoline cars." Part 2 - High Voltage Not just high voltage, even 230 V AC domestic line is more than enough for fatal accident if not properly managed. So, risk is every where and usability is depend on how we managed by engineering and administrative controls. Hint: Dear Mr. @vag2, Do not fly bec, if a plane crashed, life lost is guaranteed. But Interestingly, air travel is the world's safest passenger transportation method. This is the difference of Bass and Makabass......

Range is not updated after fuel refill - Toyota Aqua 2015
gayanath replied to mgtdan n9i8u's question in Electrical problems
Don't worry. This is normal for Aqua. This may happens time to time (mainly when you refill partially). It will sometimes reset next day or next full tank. Don't know whether this has any technical reason, but highly unlikely because fuel gauge is working properly. -
Fitting a reverse camera for a Premio
gayanath replied to TmdRockz's question in Electrical problems
Generally the wire harness is same with the highest grade, so most of the time wiring will be available. I installed Kenwood head unit from Pe*co three and half years ago. When I called they told me no wire cut. All are socket plugins. But while fixing, the guy told me he has to cut two wires (as I remember, steering control wires but not sure) because they have no proper sockets. I insisted to do proper job rather than cut and tape. Then he proposed below clamps and I accepted it. -
Is there any 260 Allions with "ordinary auto gear boxes"?
-
How you identify 1st and 2nd gears of CVT box? Can you post complete chassis code (eg: ZRT260-CEXEK or NZT260-CEXEK)
-
How you got this? This is different than which published by customs. http://www.customs.gov.lk/public/files/tariff/exsp20180801.pdf

Is your friend experienced Allion car (with CVT box) other than your car? and/or Cars with CVT boxes? Do you have any experience with Allion CVTbefore that? Is your friend a technical guy? Going through all above, I just feels, Another tune-up (I hate this word, but actually cleaning) or replacing CVT fluid will not give any improvement. I suggest, either, 1. Your car has no issue. 2. If its having an issue, it may be bit complicated and its not related to maintenance.
-
Did you check TL records? Millage is correct?
-
Why you did this? Did you noticed any other issue in the engine? (I mean the reason to sticking out oil level indicator and check while engine running)
