They are planning to bring out a Yaris T-Sport (hatchback model) at end of this year I think. Its supposed to have the 1.8 litre VVt-i engine from the Celica, but I don't think it'll be the 190bhp, probably be the 150bhp. But it should still be pretty fast.
  2. Wow man! What a beast! K20+supercharger. What else can you ask for?? But if it ever does come into production I hope it'll be all wheel drive with traction control. Cause otherwise the front wheels alone won't be able to handle 300ps and all the torque from the supercharger.

Thanks man. That exige has kicked my ass many a time. Its way too fast, 0-60 in 4.9 secs! That Team Rukas is a right wanker, I bet he's still following this thread.

Alright guys, let's end this. I have to admit it is a bit immature to be arguing over 'Who's got what'. Andrew, you are right mate, I'm sure you get it a lot worse with a Skyline. Its just that I never had this problem in other forums. I mean a CTR isn't all that, its actually one of the cheapest performance hatchbacks you can buy. So to be accused of being a fake for claiming to own a CTR just took it to another level. Yea, I've posted some pics in an earlier thread. But just for good measure: I don't have a pic with me in front of the car, but I've got this one next to my mate's Lotus Exige. So considering its two pics of the same car in different locations, i hope it proves its credibility: Hey Gihan, I'm not showing off now, I was asked to do this! Sorry mate... I just couldn't resist.

Safe man. I know the guy from Canada was talking out of his arse, but I thought he was for real. I wasn't starting on Gihan, but he was out of line, the guy is just a nob. I wasn't boasting about my car, it was a statement. When people are driving M3s and Skylines, a CTR isn't anything to boast about anyway. I think Gihan's got some kind of insecurities with the car he drives. And I can't beleive he was boasting about beating an Accent. That truely takes the piss.

    Pulsar Vzr N1

Their just isn't that 1.6 performance market anymore. The new market is the 2 litre performance engines, propaply created by the Subaru's and the Evo's. Also, people want more torque than power these days, to make the cars more drivable in everyday use. I don't think anyone who's got used to a high performance turbo car would give it up for a similar bhp naturally aspirated one.

Man, the only way to solve this issue is to race it against a stock CTR. I think CTR will be ahead at first, but the N1 will catch up when it hits the high revs. It'll be very close.

Hey Team Rukus, nice work man. You've clearly spent shit loads on that car! I have a 2002 CTR, and I was thinking of supercharging the K20A engine. Maybe to about 230bhp, not too much. But the extra torque would be worth it How much do you think it'll cost? Also, I'm a buit worried about reliability of the engine once its supecharged. It already burns some oil if I keep hitting the VTEC zone too often. What do you reckon?
  10. I just replaced my Bridgestone Potenza's with Toyo Proxe's T1-R, this week. Initial experience with the Toyo's are very good. It sticks to the road much better than the Potenza's and it is definitly a lot quiter. Its a lot softer compound. But the side walls are reinforced so handling hasn't been compromised either. If you can't get Toyo's in Lanka, the Yoko's are the next best thing. I'm suprised A539 is out of production, they still sell it in UK. Also recommend Dunlop SP Sport 9000, they are pretty good for all round performance. Hope this helps mate.

    Pulsar Vzr N1

Yes bro, what you need remember is if you are running premium fuel in the CTR you get 215 PS (thats quoted in the japanese domestioc market using 100 RON fuel). Which shifts the 0-60 times to 6.6 seconds, and i'm not too sure how much on the 1/4 mile. The 199.7 PS is quotoed for the european market using 95 RON fuel. And if the VZR N1 was made for JDM, then the quoted figure of 199.7 PS is using 100 RON petrol.

    Pulsar Vzr N1

I just checked out some specs for the VZR, the N1 is a lot faster than I thought. And its amazing how they got 181Nm of torque from a 1.6 litre. Its not as fast as the 2.0 Type-R on 0-60 though.

Yea thats the one, Silver with 17". It was quite low millage as well, and the guy wanted 2.5 Mil. I thought it was really good deal actually. But it was an Auto. It would have been worth it, German built quality and refinement are so much better than Japanese.

Nah man, he's still looking. The guy can't make his mind up. He was really close to buying a Golf Gti, but its an automatic so I think he's lost interest in it now. I'm coming down to sri lanka end of this week, so I might have a look for him then.
  15. Hey Albertho, did you manage to get hold of those tyres for the Type-R? I'm looking for some at the moment too, my back ones are almost illegal. I think I'll get some Toyo Proxes T1-Rs.

Ok, they weren't really dodgy mods, but there's a bit of concern when a 1.6 is squeezing out 190 odd bhp. I'm sure the life of the engine is fine if it has been serviced regularly.

    Pulsar Vzr N1

The VZR is pretty nice, its had a N1 engine change, right? My brother checked both the VZR and the SiR out. The SiR had too many dodgy mods done to it. Hey Pericles, whats the 0-60 of the VZR like?
  18. That was a wicked race! Its good to have 4 teams that are quite close together. But I'm a dissapointed with Toyota, they were shit. Apparantly they are not getting much traction.
  19. Go on Toyota! Its about time they bring out some phat sports cars. It looks like the new supra is set to kick the 350Z's and Audi TT's ass. But sounds a bit too expensive at $40000.
  20. I thought they stopped production ages ago. Wonder how he got it on GR plates?
  21. Yea True, Elsie is nice but the Exige looks awesome. I'd love to get one, but still too expensive these days. In another couple of years you never know. I'm a big fan of Mitsubishi Evo's as well, the Evo X will be in another league compared to the Subaru Impreza.
  22. I drive a Honda, but love Toyota. Now thats f*cked up, uh? But I only bought the Honda cause Toyota haven't made any proper sports cars recently.
  23. Have any of you guys checked out this site? http://www.wreckedexotics.com It will provide entertainment for hours when you are bored at work.
  24. Check out the pics of the new Civic Type-R: http://www.hondauk-media.co.uk/protected/index.php?p=115 Does anyone know whether it will come to Sri Lanka?
  25. I'm still undecided about this car, need to see one on the road to decided if it looks good or not. The Type-R version was officially launched by Jenson Button this week, but I'm a bit dissapointed by the engine. Apparently they are going to stick with the same 197bhp 2.0 litre engine from the old Type-R. Its a good engine, but I don't think it is powerful enough to compete with the latest hot hatches available in Europe. Like the Renault Megane (225bhp), Vaxuhall Astra (237bhp), VW Golf R32 (250bhp), BMW 130 (265bhp), and whats more Audi are planning an RS3 version of the A3 which is thought to be near the 300bhp mark. So I it looks like the Iconic Hot Hatch title owned by the previous Civic Type-R will be lost by the latest one.
