    Vw Passat 1.8t

  3. hey yeah man, the VWs are a good solid choice and you can become a member of the VW owners club ( A super one ) and also the Classic Car club Girls love the Cute looks........added advantage. There is a VW Golf Original diesel on the road from Pelwatte to Thalawatugoda junction - blue - not sure of price .... Beetle is a good choice but as Supra says the later model the better . DId you see that super MINT renault Fuego on Autolanka ? I wanted to buy that but wifey will hit da roof...... cheers and keep us posted.......

    Chrome Plating

Hey MasterD, I too might need to visit the place for my Fiat parts and my latest bike project .....needs the twin pipes chromed, front n rear mudguards and some smaller stuff such as the chain guard, handlebar, etc Do they also buff other parts such as the crankcase covers, brake drums etc ?
  5. I was also looking at a similar budget a few months ago. Saw Old Honda Civic - the original round shape 2 door. Subaru - 600 cc - car - small but four doors and good on fuel Old Toyota Corollas and Datsuns - good reliable cars and most have even got the original AC working ! A bit different Mitsubishi Celeste -etc There are good cars out there - loved by owners - keep looking find a nice one n enjoy Welcome to the club man. Cheers
  6. My former car the Red Autozam is also up for sale .........
  7. My advice was based on the fact that I am fed up of talking about the good points of the Mazda, to dudes & dudettes who do not really look at it an option. As someone said Mazers are good cars. But not for showing off. People who have Mazdas normally keep them for years. Says it all really. Hondas are superb cars as well. Just a different psychographic segment now - specially after the F&F phenomenon. The MazdaFord club has a bunch of really nice dues and we have fun. Normal people driving normal cars (Quite fast) and having fun without bothering all and sundry. Also the Mighty Mini owners club, and Beetle owners clubs are superb examples. Oh well, rambling away as usual - apologies mates. I need to now buy another Mazer or Ford...as I have neither at the moment .....good cars are now scarce. NFOC is planning another event. Driving skills will be at the fore. Not sheer BHP . Will keep all updated. Cheers
  8. My experience ...... ..... Cheap & Fast = Not Reliable Cheap & Reliable = Not Fast Fast & Reliable = Not Cheap So take your pick. Be legal mates, it just ain't worth all the hassle of trying to save a few bucks. Life is short enough as it is
  9. On the fuel figures - the type of driving also matters mate. My driver when he is given the car can only get 6 as he is a "Brake Master ". This last week I had the opportunity to take a few pals who had never been in a Cefiro ....needless to say they were amazed at the comfort level:) The people who have them find it very difficult to then switch to other vehicles ( speaking from experience ). Buy another car for handling / sports when you need that adrenaline rush, but when you wanna cruise......hmmm Also most cars nowadays do 7- 10 in traffic conditions right? So might as well be comfortable while stuck in traffic lol. I think people are cottoning on to the fact that Cefiros are good cars as not many for sale nowadays...........
  10. Buy A Honda.
  11. Hey VVti The cat as they say is outta da bag. Wheres that dude who was shootin off his mouth about dragginn ?
  12. Rare car. You want it? you gotta decide if you REALLY want it. Then pay the man and take your ride. Thats all. 2 door = for some = lower value . 2 door = for some people = higher value ! Cheers
  13. Happy Birthday and all that Jazz. Now **** that when and where is the party ? Cheers MFOCers
  14. Enough said. At one point I had 2. Superb cars. Value for money

    260 Z

Yo Bugatti, I keep telling you, ...OLD CARS ROCK man ! Specially the Z ! Looks fantastic now. Nice post too. Lets get you onto Classic Cars eh ?
  16. Looks a bit high. There shud be others with lower mileages as these are normally used as 2nd or even 3rd cars ( ) Check the condition and service history. Number of owners etc. Is the price lower than other cars ?
  17. Agents ? Dont make me laugh. the reason Mazda brand is in such a state is mainly due to their lackadaisical attitude. Parts as Bugatti says are available at M*** motors and Bugatti is THE MAN. re sale : got for 2.8 & sold for 2.3 is not too bad considering ...depends how long she used it. The re sale value of Mazdas being difficult is a myth. When you start looking for one , they are very hard to come by ( Good / maintained ones of course). Speak to the Ma*** motors guy / drop Bugatti a PM and then decide mate. I also love the Maruti Gypsey - now will anyone ever say anything good about that ? Ha ha never. But its a super offroad performer , 1000 cc aluminium engine , light and easy to drive . Will do about 10 KMPl, and you can buy a nice one for under a million smackers.....but the all important Sri Lankan image & Tom Dick & Harr'ys opinions will dissuade the best !
  18. Internationally the Mazda Tribute got some very good reviews for Comfort, practicality and also on road performance. Sri lanka ......hmmmm another matter entirely. From what I hear its a good vehicle, spares are available and reliable. Fuel consumption I am not sure but should do 7 at least. Your need for a SUV needs to be clarified as none of your choices are 4x4 capable....... Hope this helps
  19. Plastic? Or FRP? The best guys would be the Honda Club. They have a website too.
  20. Hey whatever said, that baby blue civic has had a hell of a lot of work done to it. One mans passion is not another's cuppa tea but i have to hand it to the dude. Man thats some ride. A lot of effort and moolah methinks. I like the speakers molded into the doors.... What would be the total weight of the car now vis a vis factory spec? Any ideas and thus P2W ?
  21. Seat ibiza / Fiat Toledo / Leon?
  22. yeah yeah. Sorry did not log in.... Ok here goes. I have a Cefiro. I love it. Its a Fantastic car. The post by Peri is absolutely right. Sri Lankans love to listen to others , and even though they might (in their hearts know ) its not really true, perpetuate the myth. Its a great , super comfy top of the line Car. Fuel : With AC on 100% of the time and in Colombo Traffic, I get 7.5 KMPL. On a recent trip to Kalpitiya I got 11.5 - 11.8 KMPL. Now my Mazda does 8 KMPL so in my opinion the Cefiro (My Maroon one has the NEO Engine) is a better bet. Spares are relative, I suppose as with any Top of the Line car. But I have found no issues with mine so far other than regular services and Auto trans oil Change. The First and last thing we Sri lankans love to talk about is Fuel Consumption- I (and a few enlightened souls on AL) do not. If a Corolla with a 1.5 Litre does 10 - 11 and a Large car with a 2.0 litre does 7, I think I will take the Luxo barge. I had even posted a calculation on the monthly fuel some time ago..... So my advice is to buy a well looked after and loved car ( mine had only done 43K when I got it ) , check history and condition and go for it. Its a car which will not let you down. Perception be damned.
