    Nissan Cefiro

not in colombo rush hour traffic.
  2. sad to say this about your own country but i think we have got a broken-government-proper. authorities are very confident of throwing lot of shit at the masses and getting away with that. i am sure that the powers that be don't give a damn shit about the whole fiasco.
  3. hello un-accomplished kid, how is it that you suggest that i try to show-off in this space?
  4. i don't think lewis really feels sorry. but he has to show his nice face or face FIA sanctions.
  5. i think no knowlegeable person goes to advance now. i also didn't believe all those nasty stories they said about advance until it happened to a close friend of mine. they are quite bad now. i have dealt with Pet#o and gilberts too. i think gilberts is the best out of them all.
  6. unlike the alfa's of yester years they have good 2nd hand values at least in UK and i don't think now you can source 2nd hand alfas for dirt cheap. i was riding in my friend's diesel giulietta, we even reached 115MPH in the motorway (yes 45MPH above the limit), i was surprised by the refinement and the punch in even the diesel model. looks like fiat group have a very decent engine line-up right across now. the only let down of giulietta is the appalling dash board. the leather seats and the color combinations were very nice though.
  7. then stay away from all coverted cars. i think you're likely to get primera p11 2L in best possible condition for that price. don't be in a hurry to find the right example. alfas are a good choice too, bmw 325i e36's would be possible if you can stretch the budget.
  8. this is real hamilton and he's really back. (good or bad)
  9. hope they bring the wonderful Giulietta to SL(although expected to be quite expensive) such a lovely exterior of the car that even a ferrari driver would bother to slow down and have a glance at a Giulietta.
  10. i think condtion of dash board and seats are the minus points of the singapore ones. so if those two boxes are ticked to your satisfaction then don't worry whether itz singapore or jap.

    Bmw X1 Vs 318D

i am outta da country on a short visit so i am not really going sleepless but past patterns show that you're not really having good ones either.

    Bmw X1 Vs 318D

audi diesels are still no match for bmw diesels. get into a diesel audi a3 turn-off the car audio and drive alsong at a relatively slow speed and listen to that horrible diesel engine sound.

    Bmw X1 Vs 318D

indeed and not only that the hadling just blows your mind off. only complaint i have about the 3 series is the lack of space. IMHO the fact that a similar priced bmw example is leanly equipped should not cross the mind of a real petrol head. with 0-100 kmph in about 7.5 seconds and about 15kmpl is traffic (and diesel at that) in the bmw i wouldn't personally opt for the the alloys and the posh interior of an FWD audi instead.

    Bmw X1 Vs 318D

drove a friend's 2010 e90 318i today. such a pleasure to drive and very efficient with automatic start stop and what not. but the lack of cabin space is a bit unbearable especially if you are used to a non-compact car in the past. all hope is on f30 to sort out the cabin space issue.
  15. not being a fan of SUVs i hate to admit this but i think that the SUV buying bunch is more a more progressive one than the rest. non main stream brands of SUVs have a decent presence in the island.

    Filling Up

most liekly it doesn't happen here properly. but i wished there were a cheap device to do the same our selves.
  17. the all new optima is a real gem. damn good value for money and literally twice the car of an allion or premio but sadly kia cars will loose value quite quickly in the local market.

    Filling Up

what assurance do we have that what we are being sold here as 90 octane is really that? in fact i'd be delighted to source a relatively cheap device that might indicate the octane level reliably so that i can better decide on what petrol to buy for my money. does anyone have any experience on the matter?

i think you are refering to Valvoline here. i used Valvoline this time and i await a couple of more fuel efficiency readings to decide whether it does the job. i have been using wurth before this time and it has not let me down. but when i went to motorcade this time they recommended Valvoline as an alternative (they didn't have wurth).
  20. this isn't a True Story About A Hybrid. this may be a true story about a negligent hybrid owner.
  21. this time schumacher is costing mercedes a constructors championship position. how much money is that? webber resigned to his fate of the "not too bad no 2 driver", literally kubica is really missing in the renault. imagine what a competetive renault could have done in the midst of all exciting racing at the top? today i missed ice cream man kimi as a replacement for kubica. i wished he hadn't fallen-out with renault management over negotiations for a race seat.
  22. Advance Audio horror stories are becoming too common place nowdays that it is no longer even worth it considering Advance Audio. A very good friend of mine too had a very bad experience with them very recently. I installed a JVC DVD player and DLS rear speakers a month ago from G*i*lberts to our Cefiro. Installation and service was great. JVC video quality is better than that of the original DVD player (supposedly Pioneer of some sort) found in our Axio. According to my friends feedback DLS 2-way speaker's sound quality is better than those 3-way speakers of most brands like JBL, Pioneer. I did a bit of research before buying my items and accordingly G*i*lberts prices are better than other joints selling the same items. G*i*lberts are the local direct agent for quite a few brands so they can definitely give a good price. But for anyone considering buying DLS speakers I have a word of caution too. Within a month of installing the speakers I think I have come across what I think is a manufacturer's fault. Even though G*i*lbert's said they "don't" give a warranty for speakers when buying them they are still very helpful and nice in resolving the matter with my speaker and now even offering to replace my speakers. I will keep this space up to date on the final outcome about the state of these speakers so that it can be useful information for anyone considering DLS speakers.
  23. Eating up the tyres isn't exactly what Hamilton did during Chinese GP where he took a better care of tyres than much touted Button, whilst still being lot faster. Best of all it was nice to see Hamilton defying the calls to stop pushing and "Kept on Racing" whereas the likes of Nico Rosberg gave-in. Slowly but surely Hamilton is becoming the most complete driver in the grid day-by-day.
  24. in the context of your question (which is sports cars that are relatively easier to get rid of) wrx originals(especially sti trims) or evo originals seems the right ones. since you worry about looks too wrx seems the right choice.
  25. fuel consumption in colombo seems right but outstation it should be more than 12.5kmpl (assuming you don't have to go past too many trafficy towns during rush hour, enroute). perhaps you're driving too slow. maintain a constant speed of around 70-80kmph about 70-80% of your total journey and you should get fuel consumption north of 15-16kmpl in axio.
