Dear Bharath, he has done only two oil changes in sri lanka and used MOBIL multigrade (mineral) oil. I don't think that this has happened due to MOBIL. The car was imported from Singapore and we don't know which type of oil was used in there. As far as I know MOBIL is a good brand. isn't it??

This has to be repeated after 2000 km according to the expert at Koswatta.

Dear friends, One of my friends has gone to TOYOTA Lanka to service his car and one of technisian has found some sludge has been formed just inside of oil filling hole near over head cam. Now he advised to clean the engine completly other wise engine could be ceased. The cost is 140000/=Rs I understand this is a new trend found in sri lanka forming sludge in the engine due to some varieties of lubricants. I don't know how far it is true that A*W is not using one brand due to this problem from recently. If some body is having same type of experience or any clue please advise.

I too like to recomend carb Banda. You may go near kosgas junction( In front of sugathadasa , the side where D*MO is) and ask any body. he charged 2500rs about 8 months ago for one of my friends EG8 Civic.

Acutually this is a very complicated case, as you said it could happen either way. Once you identify the problem you have to fix the thermo stat switch (censor which give power to the fan). This could happen due to following possible reasons, 1 Due to a hose leak. 2. Defectiveness of the cooling fan. 3. Defectiveness of the water pump. 4. Radiator block or fins are covered with foreign materials from out side. 5. Water level of the radiator has gone down due to evaporation. 6.Tubes inside the engine blocks get cholked.(Very rear) Check the water pump and if it works properly I suggest you to clean up the carb.(It is not much expensive and you can get it done at panchikawatte also). Make sure to replace the thermostat (Better if you can find a genuine one) other wise your cooling will never long last.

Don't bother to spend millions for cars. U just throw couple of thousands and get chicks behind you. ha ha ha

I don't think you have to change your fuel filter at 12000km. Normally it is done in 25000km intervals.unless you have engine knocks or vibriation,

Acutually this is the first time i saw a automatic civic in this genaration. I am also a honda fan and using hondas for last 10 years or so. Always better to go for a new one or else atleast a eg8.

General service, 1.Change engine oil + Engine oil filter 2. Clean/Change Air Filter 3. Check the battery water level and top up 4. Check the power steering oil level 5. Check the brake/ Clutch oil level. 6. Check the brake pads 7. Check tyre pressure . 8. Check all the lights. Special services, 1. Timing belt to be changed according to the manufactures recomandation,(Normally in every 100000km) 2. If the transmission is Auto, Gear box oil to be changed in every 30000 km.(see vehicle manual) 3. Spark plugs to be changed in every 20000 km.

Also guide us how to find a mate to practice. ha ha ha ha

Yes you are exactly correct MAZDA SPEED. With the same education some are working in a private sector and pay hell of a lot taxes and others are doing much less work in government sector and eligible for duty free consessiion. Not only that the doctors in sri lanka , How they charge from pure citizens for consultation. After all they have taken free education. Forget everything what about politicians???
