  1. Can't answer any of your questions I'm afraid but that was a fun read..
  2. People who buy and drive these cars have never had an original thought in their lives..
  3. The car looks neat.. congrats
  4. Didn't this car used to be Black and NA?
  5. Where might you find Osram / Philips bulbs? DIM0s was sold out (Osram), last I checked.
  6. Does this mean that if, for example you are pulled over by the fuzz, driving a let's say a single cab Hilux with a L reg and you hold a C, C1 license, you are in the clear?
  7. How many W211 E320s would there be in circulation? Seems a good step up power-wise from the E240s, which are fairly ubiquitous.

What's a good place (in or around Colombo) to get this done? Somewhere the techs know what they're doing (don't take the lights off the car) and use a good quality vinyl film? Can someone point me in the right direction, pls? Cheers!

  10. Early 90's Lexus LS400 - luxo cruiser with a world beating options list (for it's time) + a rock solid V8

  12. Possibly transmission and/or diff issues resulting from the more serious knock, is what I heard. Either way, it's probably been sorted now. It's a nice car, especially in this spec. The paintwork could use some attention and I would do something about the exhaust as well, for a scooby it just doesn't sound right, for some reason. Good luck!
  13. You sure about this? It's been in more than one crash..
  14. ..or "thorana" light
  15. The RX-8 is the only one from these options that has use-able back seats. The MX-5 and S2000 are strict two seaters and the rear seats in the CR-Z are pretty much useless, unless you're a midget so the comparison seems a bit skewed, doesn't it?
  16. '69 Mini Moke 1000
  17. ooh zinger!! Why all this talk about driving schools, licenses and discipline on the road etc.? Wasn't this guy completely off his face when this happened? All the training and skill in the world wouldn't have made any difference, would it? Besides, being connected, it seems he's managed to get away with it anyway. The only way to really fix the problem is by zero tolerance enforcement of the law with no exceptions.
  18. Thinking of buying a phone online and having it shipped here (the seller will use EMS), it's a smartphone, so has GPS etc. have the rules changed now or do the restrictions on importing phones still apply? Got one down a few years ago and it was the biggest pain in the ass to get it cleared, that one didn't even have GPS. Have any of you guys done this recently? Interested to know what your experience was like dealing with those goons at the PO,
  19. Why some folks feel the need to publish half their CV in an ad for a car (ex: "owned by a senior manager at a multinational company" - this was for an EK3 Civic EXi btw), I will never understand. When it comes to buying a used car, words mean very little, if you're keen on the car, you need to go see it in person and be well prepared for a few disappointments.
  20. Does that include cost of bail, attorneys charges and eventual fines/jail time?
  21. I thought you had to run GDI engines on 95 or they'd go pop? What's a realistic price for a SWB V65 Monty on H- or J- plates, these days?
  22. Don't see the point.. though some of the comments at the bottom of the page are a good laugh
  23. Nokia N97 mini. Say what you want about Symbian as an OS, it's hard to fault the build quality and overall value proposition of the N series. Having used one myself for going on a year and half, I'm struggling to find a worthy upgrade that stacks up, amidst the (wide) selection of new model smart phones on the market. Though not designed to be a rugged phone, the 97 mini, has withstood considerable abuse yet shows only minimal scaring. It's a shame Nokia are killing off Symbian in favour of Win7 mobile, call me crazy but I will always be a fan. HTC has certainly improved a lot in the design and build quality of their phones but are yet to crack a rock solid implementation of a full slide out QWERTY, IMO. SE seems to be cutting corners with their materials and making good looking handsets that feel cheap and plasticky, while Samsung and Motorola are locked in a tussle to see who can release the most new models every quarter, saturating the market with a myriad of uninspiring, quirky phones that do little to advance the genre. The Nokia E7 seems, on spec, like a very decent piece of kit but having tested one out recently I'm not sold on it either. It's a bit too big to be considered pocket-able IMO and then there's the non-replaceable battery and sub-par camera, all at an unjustifiably high price for the features on offer. I'm sticking to my N97 mini for now, at least until the new Win7 mobile based models (from Nokia) come out later this year.
