    I'm putting down a list of options which are possible to be hooked to an Auto PC: I need your ideas please. 1. Audio 2. DVD Video 3. TV/Radio 4. Navigation 5. WiFi/Bluetooth 6. ??? 7. ??? 8. ???
  3. There are two engine variations of Rav 4. VVTi and D4. The D4 variation does not offer the same fuel economy as the VVTi. The VVT has the same motor that is in the Allion (1.8). Rav 4 is one of my favorite SUVs, but the asking price is way out of my budget. I had to leave that dream aside. And please beware that Rav 4 resale value varies depending on the colour too. From what I've heard, Black RAV4 have most demand.
  4. Is it the cam angle sensor When I replaced the MAF on my car, the mechanic said there are three sensors that are prone to error, including the MAF and CAS. Don't remember the third one though
  5. I think you ought to seriously think about the painter thats going to do the job. Seems like your previous painter has done a very poor quality job. If I were you I will never go to that place again. Where was this place? I hope the Mods will pardon me for asking on the public forum. But if the paint started to bubble and peel off that quickly I think its better all of us know this place so we can avoid the same sentiment.
  6. Its not practical in SL, I know, but a little lowered ride with this colour would be awesome.
  7. I'm no engine expert, but you could use the handbrake to stop the car. However the effectiveness depends on your speed. A combination of Foot Brake (you would have to press the pedal hard, because there is no boost) + Hand break would do I guess.
  8. Blue - May appeal to some... Maybe it would be better appealing in this form...
  9. Orange - Works!!!
  10. Bright Metallic Green - Even cooler
  11. Light Metallic Green - Cool to the eye
  12. Yellow - A Flashy colour
  13. Metallic Blue - A Nice contemporary colour
  14. Gray - An Elegant colour White - A Simple and cute outlook
  15. Metalic Red - Sexy Black - An Elegant colour
  16. Ok, here goes; take a pic, make a vote, finalize a colour Red - A Hot colour

Many thanks MSP0RT5. This software is quite impressive. And it made me realize that there is a lot that I have to consider in writing the GUI.
  18. Yes sir you are, what I meant was that we will help as much as possible. apologies for my bad English.
  19. ROFL What were you expecting KLM?
  20. I'm afraid not. Most of the old vehicles do have em' grease nipples, which needs to be greased when they are serviced. Newer ones don't have em'. Wiki on Nipples
  21. Interesting comments Found the nipple positions... Have to grease them next
  22. Parak, Don't you think Us Sri Lankans may have the same problems that you are trying to deal with over there? Everyone has their own reasons for using their private vehicles. Be it the security, convenience, family, service quality, etc. everyone is trying to deal with one or many of these problems by using their private vehicle. Is really easy to "Talk the talk" mate but "Walk the talk" is difficult. You maybe few of those lucky people who receive good bus service at your area. But don't think that the services are the same everywhere. I have seen ladies fallen off the foot-boards simply because the driver moves the vehicle before they get on to the bus. Applies especially to the ladies who wear Saries. There was an incident some time back a little girl was run over by the same bus she traveled. In another incident a child fell off a bus because there were holes in floor of the bus. Once the bus I traveled ran over two kids on a push-bike both of them died on the spot (The driver did not stop the bus; kids were squashed by both the front and real wheels), I was unable to eat for days. Trains are no better. There is a gap of abut a 1 foot between the platform and the train, and in many occasions people fall into this gap (Most of the time kids and ladies). Everyone loves their family just like you love yours. And we also want to see them travel safe and comfortable, just like you do. Thats not a crime. It has nothing to do with patriotism. We spend our hard earned cash on vehicles due to the same helplessness you deal with. We don't buy vehicles to show status or anything. It is simply because we got requirements that are not fulfilled by the public transport. I know, some people think traveling in a vehicle gives a special status. I have felt it specially when the vegetable or fruit seller sells few rupees higher to us simply because we traveled in a vehicle. But only we know how much difficulty we go through to pay the leases, fuel and maintain the vehicles. Please do think in others perspective before you criticize people.

Many thanks MSP0RT5, MeanGreen for sharing your valuable experience. I think we can overcome XP issue with a custom software GUI. Of cause it would be a real pain to click the XP buttons on a 7" or 8" screen. What I've planned is to write a small GUI software and use it as a shell on top of XP. Plan to have more touch friendly buttons on the interface. Of cause Linux is a real good alternative to XP. I'd love to use Linux over XP any day. But there are many complications when it comes to hardware driver compatibility. If all hardware is OK with Linux I'd use Linux. (Don't want license issues to complicate my task). I'm thinking of an easily accessible GUI which will enable access to all major facilities provided. Something like this:
  24. Nice to see people take these as jokes... Those are hilarious...
  25. How to use a grease nipple, this raised another question. How does one know that they have applied enough grease?
