  1. All these are good i highway, pain in the a** in city traffic. Personally anyone who don't want to brake, dip/ switch on lights, wipers when required should not be driving
  2. If you are thinking of resale forget it
  3. 1st 1000 km, second 5000 km, third 10,000 km after that you can decide each 5000 km or 10000 km depending on your driving conditions.
  4. Those permits should be used to bring down higher duty vehicles such as a Prado / Montero which attract absurd duty due to their higher capacity engines. If you have Rs. 30 M go ahead and buy the RR they have never been so cheaper.
  5. kia will be no good off road, some of them are FWD
  6. 1.3 L has excellent reviews for off road capabilities due to the low weight, size and small overhangs, in fact if you search there are number of youtube videos where they do side by side off road comparisons with Range Rover, Defender etc. However what we get here (recent imports) are 660 CC which may be under powered. But on the plus side cheapest 4WD you could buy if you could live with the size
  7. Axio 2007
  8. Chassis number CVT start with ZC71S and older one ZC53S if i can remember correct CVT is 1243 CC and the older one is 13XX CC or so When you test drive you can tell from the way car drives if you are used to CVT
  9. FB 14 because it is the new version.
  10. Considering the long waiting time for the car by them you will most probably have the oil for the service
  11. If you are concern with number i believe you could get a EA-XXXX number by paying Rs. 75 K or so. You will be able to get more information from RMV how to get about this.
  12. Even vehicles sold in Japan will be made made in Thailand, there is a chance that hybrid may be assembled in Japan. At current duty rates 1.5T will attract Rs. 4.875 Mn. duty and 2.0L hybrid Rs. 10 Mn. with the extra cost of Hybrid it will not make sense. You can get the 1.5T form the agent for around Rs. 10 Mn. When you factor the cost of the permit still 1.5T will be around Rs. 10 Mn. no cost saving.
  13. Toyota Yaris - 2010
  14. lower number 0w, 5w, 10w does not matter too much in SL as our ambient temperatures does not go below 20C (unless you live in Nuwara Eiya or so) But 30 will have higher viscosity (thicker) than 20 at running temperature which could have an impact on the engine friction, oil pressure etc. Better to stick with the manufactures recommendation. A*W may be using 5w30 or 10w30 as they might not have same grade of oil imported by them. This has been the case even some years back.
  15. Audi A4, C180/200 for little more
  16. better get it checked elsewhere for a second opinion, agents A*W may be able to help as they do bring down the same model. Could be a busted relay or sensor, batteries do not die suddenly. Rs. 150K seems too high for a mild hybrid battery as this is the price of a Prius batter (used)
  17. E46 will be over 10 years (most of them over 15 years) and E36 around 18 years old and will have issues due to age. Suggest Mazda 3, Lancer EX, Civic FD Ford Focus, VW Passat, VW Jetta if you want a Euro You will be able to find a post 2007 with your budget
  18. sorry it is 1988*6000
  19. Cant import from US as it will be LHD, will have to be from Japan Cost 18000@155= 2.8 Mn Duty 1988cc@2000= 12.0 Mn. Ins.+ Freight + others around 300K Approximately Rs. 15 Mn.
  20. My mom brought one from the 1st batch Dec 2007 and has been using the car for the last 10 years, it has done approximately 65K 1.Things replaced, tires, front break pads, auxiliary belt (fan belt) car has been absolutely reliable However i have heard of few cars that had issues with the electrical power steering which can be replaced around 50K at a reliable place with parts imported from Thailand where they are manufacuted A/C pump Shocks 2. Don't expect over 8-9 in Colombo City, 12-15 highway (not as economical as Axio/ Allion in par with Civic Mazda 3) 3. History for repairs, mileage (use service records, emission certificates) most of the cars are clocked especially if it is with 2-3 owners or car sales people) Try to get one form the original owner even with a high mileage. Look for any accident damages, usually uneven panel gaps, wrinkles inside engine component, boot floor. 4. Ask questions to support above Happy hunting
  21. RSt 4.4-4.6 Mn. Rs. 5.2-5.4 Mn. difference of Rs. 800K, looking at local prices
  22. SL has safety features as standard where as in RS/RSt they are optional, they come as safety package. And SL will be significantly expensive due to higher price and duty, even if you factor the higher kmpl payback period will be much longer to make financial sense. In my view RSt is pick of the buntch
  23. You would have benefited from the price increases, even i sold my GP5 at Rs. 700k profit. But it is not the case with 5-6 year old Prius or even on Vezels.
