  1. This could actually be a loose connection, I had a similar experience with lights not working, company fixed a new light switch stalk when it did not work only they checked the connections. Since I was present they could not charge for the replacement. Contact cleaner might do the job
  2. If from USA try K**R**A.COM they will get it down for you
  3. Durability ??? material and build quality seems very flimsy. Do not have high expectations as this is a cheap car Go for Kia Picanto if you can stretch
  4. Find the part number you may be able to find one in ebay, axio 141 may be compatible, if so you may be able to find a used one
  5. None of the cars came with sunroof, unless you punch a hole in the roof i don't see this happening May be the docs had sweaty head
  6. -economical (yes you get more kmpl in Axio) -powerful (no unless you opt for 1.8 L) -comfortable (Depends on the road, 141 has more firm suspension with substantial ground clearance and bit more travel, more comfortable in bad roads, you don't need to worry about banging the undercarriage) -reliable (equal, 141 may have a advantage due to basic engine, transmission, i have never heard of a issue in a 141, although Axio engines are prone to sludge buildup) -well built (equal, 2008-2010 141s made in Japan) -range of grades to choose(X,X limited,G,G limited,Luxel vs LX,GLI) (141 will be more or less in line with X grade Axio, so most of the Axios will have more bells and whistles)
  7. Mmm.. i got a call few weeks back from U***** M***** inquiring whether i still have my 2007 EX which i sold 5 yrs back. May be this is the case
  8. Try replacing smart key battery
  9. What was the ATF used, 71S has a CVT, there is special oil for this gear box (expensive, they call it liquid gold, last I checked few years back when I had a 71S it was around Rs. 5k per lit.) My advise take the car in a carrier to the agent (A*W), they are not that expensive.
  10. Based on my experience last 3 years over 25k km, on a 2013 RM2 (4WD), city (Hokandara - Colombo, via Parliament Road)
  11. CRV 4WD does 7-8 kmpl in CIty and 12-13 kmpl Outstation, best 16 kmpl, why spend on hybrid
  12. My Toyota Sprinter CE100 1991 had independent rear suspension
  13. My BIL is with them for the last 5 years had several small claims no issues. Last claim was for damage caused by lightning and they paid 85% (details in thread “Struck by lightning”)
  14. Axxxxxxe
  15. Finally Insurance made good 85% of the claim of Rs. 158K Replacements being ECU, ABS Module, Alternator, EPS and some other sensors.
  16. Only body shape is same, even parts are sourced locally in both versions Economy, ride, handling different due to different engines, suspension setup If you can afford go for the Jap.
  17. Actually I went through the pain of analyzing my usage by reading the meter at 05.30, 18.30 and 10.30 for 15-20 days to find out exactly my usage pattern. My findings were that I was more or less using equal amount of electricity on each slot. This will depend on individual household so you will have to do your own study. For a month I was consuming 250-300 units without vehicle charging and a/c bill came to Rs. 12k Now with vehicle charging and a/c I pay less for 600 units
  18. Actually I got my first bill yesterday which worked out at less than 2.5 units/day on peak, which required only few changes on ironing time. Peak is only 5 hrs out of 24 I do agree benefit will be only for high users may be 300 unit up.
  19. I use this cost per km in Colombo traffic Rs. 3.25
  20. ES came in an era where Japs were sacrificing quality for cost. This is same with AE 100 and AE 110 one could even say that Japs in 90s were over engineered, this even applies to Euros. To save money they changed the suspension set up of EK (double wishbone) to ES (McPerson) sacrificing handling. Hard plastics on dash for padded in EK etc. etc. ES had more electronics which gives trouble when aging If you compare with other contemporary Japs ES still would be a better bet.
  21. 2.0 petrol was 12 mil month back :-(
  22. I was told by few experts that inverter refrigerators make more sense than inverter a/c at home
  23. We have a Leaf and a FIT GP5, Leaf is mainly used to commute to work and week end short runs. In town it is the best, no noise, vibration, fierce initial acceleration. Has very good ground clearance and ride is very comfortable. Handling in par with any average Jap (low center of gravity helps) No oil, no filters servicing is cheaper, battery costs are coming down (generally they get half every 5 years or so) in few years there will be enough places to repair them using replacement cells. However must warn this is a Risk. Replacement battery in USA US$ 5500 I have TOU metering so my charging cost per unit is Rs. 13 which works out to around Rs. 3 per km i don't think anything with more than 2 wheels could beat that.
  24. yes it will cost 3.5 to 4.0
  25. If you are looking at reliability and resale BMW of that vintage will not serve. Get a CRV or X-Trail or better still a Subaru
