Hi, a friend is interested in purchasing a 2002 Nissan Primera 2.0L. Anyone using this car who could tell me what the fuel consumption is like in the city and what to expect in terms of maintainence and spare part costs. Thanks in advance

I understand where u r comin from DZ, but like I said in my first post, I'm looking for a daily driver that has a little oomph to put a smile on my face. If i wanted a posers car i coulda picked up a hyundai coupe or civic etc with a hideous body kit worn a silk shirt and some gold baubles and hung out at MC or the Hilton (which evers closer at the time) With all due respect i'm not lookin to attract attention in anyway, i'm a solitary creature. Plus in this market i cant afford to be picky as there aernt bountiful amounts of these cars running around. I adore and respect the models i have mentioned in this thread so far and will be perfectly happy with either of em. The Levin was something I stumbled upon and thought it might be a good buy. I've looked into Glanzas but most were not V models and had seriously high mileage. I even put a wanted ad in the papers sometime back and the responses were rather appauling examples. i used to own a 98 VW Polo at the time and despite what the mags say that car was superb, the steering was very direct and I could feel the road, the suspension was perfect it has good rigidity and balance for corners but had comfort, the seats though normal were made by recaro and were really comfy n snug and the gearchange was real snickety. I'm jes trying to recreate those feelings again. It didnt have much power but u could rev the nuts off it in first and second I had to sell it as I went abroad for further studies when i came back i spotted the car at carmart and the new owner had destroyed it, i felt so angry Anyways thanks to all who've contributed I shall keep ur advice in mind n continue searching.

Is it a black one with an autolanka.com sticker on it??? Anyways everyone thanks for all your input, it has actually made me think twice about buying the Levin. Sigh! back to square one.

I like the VZRs but they are rarer than the endangered animals in the sri lankan rainforests lol. Plus the ones i saw were in poor states, I picture most driven by execs who cant climb the corporate ladder and have to drive around alot sucking upto their bosses. But a good car nonetheless. Does anyone have a lead on any gulp! honda civic type r's up for sale ek9 or later versions??? I'm a sucker for a red head

Thanks for the tips on alternatives everyone, I do like WRXs but the ones in my price range which i checked had done mileage to the moon and back Plus i'm a huge fan of hot hatches but dont seem to have found the right one, I did look into buying a toyota Runx one time but the price was to much.

Yup that's the car, a blue Levin was it a daily runner for your classmate? I realise it isnt going to be a rocket ship but do you think the 1.5 engine will have sufficent power and then some? I mean the car weighs close to a ton. Dealer is asking around 1.6
-
Hmmm you raise some good points there, regarding space it is certainly not snug at the back it has enough room. The forecourt dealer said it belonged to his nephew and is up for sale coz he is going abroad for studies, the odometer shows a little over 67,000. Regarding power to weight, when i lifted the bonnet it was extremely heavy, concerned whether it has enough power to pull the body and give a little satisfaction as well. Ne other recommendations as to what could be a more suitable fun daily driver? Anything in the 1-2 mill range? Highest I can stretch my paltry finances is 2.2 I shall look into taking it to Toyota Lanka when I can escape work, how much would an inspection roughly cost? Thanks again

Hey y'all, I was driving around Nugegoda area and stumbled on a second hand car dealership. There was a gleaming blue coupe in the forecourt which caught my eye. The moment I got closer to it I saw the emblem on the hood and recognized that it was a Levin(that and the fact that it looked like one lol). It is a blue AE110 car on a GY plate. Sadly it aint the legendary AE86 "Hachiroku"(go Dori Dori!). Plus it isnt even the hot BZ series with the 4AG engine and SS package it is a simple FZ car with a run of the mill 5A-FE engine producing a 100hp(does a "100ps" mean a hundred hp?) with an auto box plus no alloys, basically a clean slate of a car. It has a good history and looks unabused. Now i'm no street racer i'm jes looking for a daily driver to put a smile on ma face with a little oomph, do u think this is a worthwhile purchase? I await your feedback. Thanks in advance.

thanxs fer da input, yeh it already has a hard type spare wheel cover, i'm lookin for a sports mesh grill. sigh some of the jdm ones come with kits. Ne ways thanxs fer da input, hopefully by middle or end of next month should have something.
-
True i had thought about simply color coding the bumpers and sides to match the metal work. Its not a euro spec, its what toyota calls asian spec of sumtin, i got this from toyota lanka back in the day. It apparently comes from singapore not japan like the jdm rav 4s. Went n saw a latest spec new shape 2005 rav 4 guy is askin 7.9, it comes with trd bodykit which is quite nice plus exhaust system and kick your spleen in 2.4 engine. Ne ways i got in touch with TOM's racing in japan and they have simple bolt on tuning package for my model including some subtle body skirts nothing to fancy, but DAMN IT COSTS! I dun mind paying the price they is askin as its quality and i'm a fan of TOM's, but on top of that i will have to pay duty if they courier it down argh! There has to be an easier way
-
Lol they should call it the mega barf coz thats what it make me wanna do. It looks a rite rip off of the humvee down to the crappy interior and dimensions.
-
Yeh ebay seems a good bet for the aero kits, still stuck on where to get the engine bolt ons from. thanks fer the info
-
Thanks jadey, again ne info on where to find trd parts over here or a way to get em down would be helpful. To be honest engine wise i'm still wondering what iwanna do, i know its quite a strong lump and can take a lot of add ons, but so far i'm just thinkin intake and exhaust system. Plus does ne one know a good place to fit all this body and engine wise?
-
I agree i dun want it to look like a van lol, something subtle would be nice, ne specific places to look for alloys in those areas, some shop names would be a great help, thanks fer the info.

Hey all, I have a 2004 black RAV 4 and recently i've been feeling its a little bland n dull. I wanna spruce it up a bit by gettin a decent sleek body kit, perhaps bigger alloys, plus engine wise wanna get an intake and cat back exhaust to make it feel more throaty. As you can see its quite bland lol Ne ways do ne of u know where i can find the relevant parts? It would be a great help as i have no clue where to start, and though i could go to toyota lanka i dun wanna go bankrupt as well. :-) Thanks in advance.
-
Hey, yeah i know there is a R model, hmmm yeah i'll prob give you a call, thanxs heaps.
-
Hey all, recently i happened to come by a swift at one em dealer lots that had been lowered and had a cat back exhaust and intake. Now i've been dying to do the same to my swift(boxy one, not the funky new one sad to say). But A: Dont know where to find parts like intakes, catback exhaust etc. I'm only looking to make the car breathe better throughout maybe later i'll tweak the computer and put in some semi sport pads. Main aim is to keep it close to stock as possible. B: Good garage to fix these parts. Any help in either of these areas will be grateful. If this has already been mentioned in a previous post plz lemme know, otherwise yer inputs are very welcome. Thanks in advance adios

Its the new owners headache now, trust me i wont be makin the same mistake again, who knows what was wrong with it, i'm just glad its out of my life period. Thanks again to everyone for all yer inputs.
-
hey all, thanks heaps for the input, but the good news i managed to sell it and not loose anything much in the whole process, so once again thank you for all yer input it was much appreciated.
-
Lol judging from the conclusion, its more of ones opinion than an unbiased, researched article, wouldnt trust it as far as i can throw. hehe

I drove an automatic similar to mine and that felt that it had far more oomph compared to mine, i had thought abt the power to weight ratio considering i have a 1000 cc model. I didnt know the k11 march had a 1300 variant i thought that came on the newer model?

Which manufacturer do you like: Porsche: or Ferrari and why? I personally prefer porsche, people say they dont have passion, but they are passionate about engineering and innovation. You just have to see one in action or be in one to realise what this means and why its so significant and groundbreaking. Plus because the engines are way out over the back they practically defy general car manufacturing laws. So which do you prefer.

i had the engine coolant replaced, the engine was thorroughly flushed and replaced whatever needed to be replaced, the engine performance improved by noticeable levels but stills feels rather asthmatic, yeh seems like taking it to A*W seems like the best bet, hope they wont empty my pockets lol. In reply to xXx i have left it on the retard dealers lot where i bought it fer a few weeks now but ppl come see it n dont come back, i'm guessin the market at the mo aint really conducive so will still keep working that angle. Thanks again for all yer input people, it is much appreciated, keep it comin if you get ne sparks.

Hey guys i just bought a k11 march about a month ago and found out at the recent service that the things a hunk a junk and has been heavily repaired. Firstly its engine feels utterly asthmatic from the sound of it, it seems to be in 2 or 3rd and revs high and sort of plateaus out around 80kph until you press the sport/ od button to engage what i feel is 4th gear. Then when replacing the oil filter they found everything had been rewired and completely different to any other march and it was difficult to fit the oil filter fer a bit. Probably because the engine may have been taken out n remounted after a paint job which is now evident the car has had. Now i'm stuck with this piece of crap so do you guys know a place or mechanic who has the proper expertise and facilities to do a full check up, diagnostic etc. If they have been mentioned in a previous post i would appreciate it if you could direct me to it. P.s i also wanna know where i can purchase a nismo intake and cat back exhaust system for the k11 just fer my curiosity. coz if the engine proves to be knackered i will prob swap it out fer a better sportier unit, though doubt a sr20 or rb engine will fit hehe. Any ways holla back Thanks in advance
