  1. Agree with Chooti P and Watchman. The discipline has gone from the riders...Back then at the height of my riding days we only had a handful off bikes over 500cc and even less over 1000cc.And we risked a lot by just taking those bikes out.Firstly if you got caught the bikes would be confiscated and probably end up in jail. The bikes themselves were hard to get down. Then there were no spares and no one to maintain the so most of us repaired our own bikes.I was just out of school and had no money either. And already having lost one son I was not gonna put my parents through that pain again...So all of those factors combined made us respect the machines and their limits and in turn that made us better riders. Ofcourse all of us started off with small bikes like the TZRs and in my case a 50cc Cub and then graduated to the big boys.Nowadays putha paases the test and rich daddy buys him a R1Ducati,CBR etc etc.The motorcycle licence test is definitely not enough for riding any thing over 250 let alone 1000.Both kids who bought my bikes crashed them within six months but thankfully both were repaired and are still roadworthy. phew..okay rant over!
  2. I'm sort of glad that Alonso is leaving to be honest,I still believe he is the best driver on the grid but It is time for a change....Plus according to some F1 blogs the reason Massa and Raikkonen both struggled with their cars while ALO trounced them, was that the car was tailor made for Alonso's driving style.Ofcourse it's usual for teams to design a car more suited for their No.1 driver but this time they took it a bit far is what I'm hearing. Regarding the championship.Hamilton should have this in the bag,But something tells me there's another twist to this story...Anyways we'll see Sunday.Hopefully it'll be sorted out on track without either retiring or crashing out. Caterham will be racing this weekend...pity about Marussia. Those two points at Monaco and what happened with Jules was all for nothing. LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRqfnja99YU
  3. Yup drags are happening at Attidiya and K'bathgoda. Most of the old crowd are not to be seen but some new faces are there with some monster Hondas and whatnot...Like peri said, some retards are also there clowning around like last time.most are just kids like the OP who can't rev match or shift even if their life depended on it...If you're going to see them park your car far away from the 'strip'.Don't want some asshat showing off and plowing on to your ride.
  4. I think most people commenting here should do well to take a look at their own driving habbits instead of examining the curvature of the pump attendant's anus with an app each time they stop for fuel. Most people seems to think speeding equals aggressive driving and then proceed drive slow in the middle of the road. That is utter rubbish. Its all about the revs and being on the right gear at the right time and keeping the momentum going. You can save lots just by learning to anticipate other road user's next move and behaving accordingly.I have a cousin who accelerates like an imbecile and brakes like a j***a$$ but never exceeds 60 cos "it burns fuel".We do the same same journey in the same car and bugger is always amazed how the car does better on fuel when I drive, and we get home quicker too.
  5. It's the J edition machan. The CRX Julola R was made for people just like him.
  6. What reactions?...No one has replied except you retard!...Anyway the doctor couldn't handle the truth and is long gone,Bugger had a hissy fit and quit....His cataloy sculpture should be done by now though. So anyway. If you're serious about buying a car I can hook you up with a nice Honda CRX J edition...let me know.
  7. What? Me? Datsun? 510?...No!...I'm sort of regarded as the Anti-christ in the 510 community. You must have me confused with Dr.Naka Dee Pusi. That second paragraph is allover the place. I can't even begin to comprehend that rubbish. Let me guess. You want a turbo just to hear the 'brmmmm-tssss' sound and to show off to your friends neda?...c'mon be honest...
  8. You don't really need to turbocharge a car for it to go faster.Sometimes a properly sorted NA with a few mods is faster than an equvalent turbo car...All that godawful lag put me off turbos for good.I'd take a high revving, variable valved NA any day. For carbed cars,I've heard Supercharging is better than Turbocharging.Don't ask me why though cos I don't know...I'm waiting for my Weber + Supercharger kit to arrive for a 2 litre twin carb. It's a bolt on one for that particular car.But custom making one in SL one can be messy and expensive.Better go for an EFI car as others said. And just to echo what VVti said.Real petrolheads don't race on the streets. The posers who do have lost family members and are facing jail time plus a life time of regret. ...If you really wanna show off your skills come on a track day with us or join a club or contact AndrewGTR and enter the official drags.
  9. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was awesome! Hands down the best movie for me in 2014 so far. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was average at best.Megan Fox can't act. Dracula Untold was very good.
  10. Yes thank you Captain Obvious. That comment was made immediately after the crash when information was scarce. Now that a month has gone we're all wiser...Please look at the post dates before quoting and replying.
  11. USGP this weekend. I have to agree with the old midget and the USGP promoter here,In becoming more eco friendly and politically correct, F1 may lose it's core audience. The show has suffered....Plus I thought one of the so called benifits of the slower and quieter cars was lower costs. Now we've lost two teams in one go.Sauber and Lotus are not looking healthy either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ3wY-2t4Hg
  12. True,it's always gonna be an uphill battle.Financing the project would be the main problem. But those guys look they're serious though...unlike the idiots who tried to to do water powered or air powered cars in the past... I think this deserves a thread of it's own...Mods,can you do the needful then move the posts here to that please.
  13. You can import LHD but you have to convert it to RHD within a certain amount of time and show it to RMV and other authorities if you wanna use it on roads...The yellow Corvette though is still LHD and can be seen driven,so go figure..
  14. Actually the main site and the forums are privately owned,So it is someone's property. Davy made a very reasonable request for you to stop opening multiple threads. There was no need to call names.Respect has to be earned around here...Even a handsome god like me is not above calling names as my warning point tally clearly shows..So I hope you calm down and continue to post here in an appropriate manner.
  15. Awsome! I gotta come clean here..lol..I saw your car a couple of times at the garage when I went there with my dad.Don't worry we went for another matter and didn't even talk bout the Capri(I took a good look around tho ) ...I suppose the new tinker you're you're talking about is Ranga.Good chap, his father used to work for us.
  16. Nice to see the progress.New guy seems to know his stuff...A little suggestion. The welding tacks and creases are relatively weaker points and tend to rust quickly.have them hand paint some primer over it untill you get to the paintjob proper.
  17. If you wanna be a guinea pig and try one out so be it but I say wait till the infrastructure develops to properly use and maintain these cars. It's the same thing we said when the first hybrids started coming to SL. Right now all electric cars are highly impractical. For example it'll take two days to go to Anuradhapura in a Leaf. And as Harshan said there are no savings or environmental benefits. The Tesla looks cool tho.
  18. Try Autodrome(Bridgestone). They took on a few special orders for me.I don't think there are any restrictions but import tax is very high on rubber products.Sometimes as high as 100%.
  19. A friends R33 sedan went for 1.7 about a year ago.If that helps.Car needed a lot of work mechanically. A R33 GTR and a R33 GTST was available for 3.5 and 3.8 respectively...So R34s, if one was to come up for sale would be 6,7 mil I guess...Even more for Andy's Nur Spec. Refer this thread for more info regarding GTRs http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/5638-skyline-register/
  20. Oh gawd what a boring race. The track seems ok,but Pirelli has been too conservative with the tyre compounds...Mr.Putin should have kicked out Bernie and tried a hostile take over to spice things up.
  21. Yes Ferrari have been struggling with drivability. They've sidelined Pat Fry and are pinning all their hopes on James Allison, who has turned out some fantastic cars over the years, to design better package for next year. But Ferrari and Renault are still down on power and fuel efficiency compared Mercedes engines. So it's a safe bet Merc will take the championship next year too...unless Honda turn up with a cracker of an engine.
  22. Wow that'd be awesome.Possibly the strongest pairing ever if it happens.Right up there with Moss,Fangio and Senna,Prost. Ofcourse that'll mean Kimi is out.But I feel the Iceman has lost his motivation yet again at Ferrari so it may be for the best.Maybe a move to McLaren to partner MAG?...I for one won't be terribly sad if Button is out of a seat next year.
  23. FAIL...and why did they hire that goday bird for this, surely HNB can afford a proper actress.
  24. Absoloutely!...Looks like he's out of immediate danger as of now and most likely will miss out on the race next weekend if not the rest of the season.
  25. Watched Transfomers 4...OK movie the visual effects were amazing and Mark Wahlberg was way better than that Shia guy...but otherwise the plot and acting was rubbish and it was too long.I fell asleep twice....but worth a watch just for the effects and them Dino Transformers. The napuru aaththamma from Amba Yaluwo is in it too..
