I actually saw a vehicle which had 31 Sri, now having this "E" number. So I am sure there is a way, though I don't know if that way is legal or not.

Do you think the Agents give it cheaper than the tire places like Am*la? About to change the front tires and want to see if I get a better deal if I go to the Agents. Or, is it like a rip off like going to the Car Agents

Has A*A (known as Av**a N* for many years and on many vehicles. Never had issues, and hopefully never will. Also heard Cey**** is good these days. Sounds like they pay more than the claim amount not sure if it was a one time mistake.

Hello! Did a search but didn't find some info, hence asking. You seem to know about it well. 1. There are so many versions right? Exceed? Super Exceed? Exceed 2 etc. If you have time, please let me know the differences. Googled, but no luck. 2. Some say "Pajero" and some say "Montero" on the rear door. What is the difference? Is "Pajero" the domestic version which you mentioned needing 98 petrol? 3. Also, which one is better? 3Ltr or 3.5Ltr or 3.8Ltr? Why would anyone go for 3.8ltr or 3.5ltr when 3ltr is available? Is there an advantage? I see 3.5ltr is the most common one. 4. Some are "V6", some are "GDI". Please let me know what the difference as well. Please share your advice when you have time. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the advices. Owned a wonderful 20 year old Suzuki Gypsy for years, sometime ago (with R2 Diesel Engine). The places I have gone in it for years earned a lot of "my" respect for that Indian Chassis. It made me believe that even larger Chassis of Bolero and Tata also might be hardy and durable (not sure about the number of years they may last though, but the Gypsy does very well per my experience). Did the biggest mistake of selling it about 2 years ago. Had two 4DR5s too, but didn't give the riding pleasure when it comes to Mud and Rocks compared to the Gypsy. The prob with Gypsy is that it is too compact. When you fill it with Buds, no room to put the bags and stuff. Anyway, it would have been a great if I can find a "cheapo" but with 4WD so I could care less, about using it in harsh conditions without worrying about spare parts, resale value etc etc. May be a Bolero Double Cab with 4WD would have been "perfect++" if the rear could accommodate 2 X side ways seats. Personally would have considered it a perfect vehicle for my need, in my opinion. I also saw a Maxi Truck Double Cab too (Only saw one of those on the road) but still didn't have 4WD.

Thanks for the advice Watchman. Had a BJ40 but didn't like it much. Want sort of a larger one which I can use without crying about scratches, dents I see a BJ45 for sale but kinda worried because I have only seen 3 of them ever running on the roads in Colombo.

Come to think of, never knew anyone who has done 2WD to 4WD. The thread confirmed it. But if one could, I would like that.

Thanks Don. I really thought Bolero or Tata would make a wonderful jungle ride considering that they have hardy chassis. I see so many in Habarana and Wilpaththu side, and even Yala these days. However can't find any with 4WD. But in India I searched that they have, so I thought it is a matter of changing the front axels and shafts. Reading the thread, it seems to be much more complicated.

Can these 2WD vehicles converted to 4WD? Who is the best person to do these any anyone knows how much it might cost?

I've had 185/70-14" in Original specs and now run on 225/45-17" for the past 7 years. Vehicle is very stable. Haven't noticed much increase in fuel efficiency. Back in those days I was told not do replace them that I will have to change the shocks often since they wear em off quickly but never had that problem either. I don't know if that varies from vehicle to vehicle but am for sure quite happier with the changed tire/rim Size. But the new Rims are light weight racing type. That might be the reason too because there are some Rims you can't carry on your own which might impact the car badly.

Here is a observation. When the car is running, there is no Vibration. Zero! But as soon as you come to a stop, the vibration starts. So can this be the mounts? Even when you are at Idle if you rev the car, the vibration completely stops. I increased the idle rev from 0.75 to 1.0 last time, but still at idle the vibration is there. It has to be in a higher speed to stop the vibration. When the AC is off, it is better but not completely off, so that is why i think it cant be the AC matter. Even when I come to a stop, if I put the gear from D to N, still the vibration is there, so again I dont think its the gearbox. I appreciate any advice! =)

It is an Automatic. Engine tune up was done only a week ago. The problem was there for a few months and still is. I have thought of changing the mounts. I am sure I have not changed the mounts for a few years now. But, does the mount effect the rev? Rev slightly move (is not consistent) even when the car is in idle mode.

Hello Experts, Since of recent past my car has a pretty bad Vibration. I have checked the Engine Mounts and everyone who checks them says they are in Good Condition. When I turn on the AC it is pretty bad. There is some part which controls the fuel flow when the AC is turned up. Initially I thought the problem is that, but even when it was replaced the problem remains the same. When I drive, then the vibration goes out and when I come to a stop, the vibration starts. It really feels on the steering wheel. I recently did a engine tune up as well, still it is the same. Any suggestions?

I've got Bridgestone Turanz tires too. The best. The cheapest you could get would be Roadstone, and then Hankook. Both brands are really good. Hankook should be around 18,000/-. Dunlop is also cheap they come in Chinese and Indonesian both. Chinese one is cheaper but never wanted to try it. Speak to the Tire people at Hillstreet (not the one towards Dehiwala, but the other side). For tires, am going there for the past decade.

I dont know what are the rules here in this forum. Are we allowed to post contact details? Anyway if you google it, you will find it from many sources. I did the same once Chan5 gave me the directions (given somewhere above, on this post). Good Luck! It is always the best to have a 2nd option.
