  5. Wonder what's up with general lack of traffic this morning...

  6. I'd welcome an automatic Defender 110 anytime. In fact, if I'm ever fortunate to own one, auto transmission one of the mods I'd make to it, along with rear power windows and rear a/c.
  7. There are factory diesel Defenders with auto boxes? That's new to me. All I've come across are 3rd party conversions for TD5 and TDCi models, not factory fitted. Unless you're going to order it from Landrover Special Vehicles.
  8. What about the Nissan March Impul? I think there was advertised on AL recently?
  9. Lolz @ petrol buggers

  10. A colleague has the Premium Auto, its a very good drive, and there's tons of leg room front and rear even for a fat bastard like me (I tested it by moving the front seat to my ideal position and then hopping in the rear, and my knees were fine). Plus its got plenty of go even with a load 4, although I probably contribute the weight of two individuals, so a load of 5 give or take. My only qualm is how the rear doors' beading tends to make the door stick. When in close quarters, it makes opening the door carefully without knocking it on the wall/post/car next to it a chore. I thought it would become more supple with age, but the car is 2 months short of it's 1st birthday and the rear doors are still behave the same.
  11. Speaking of Vanguards, I miss the old Standard Vanguards. Anyway, moving on.
  12. Good grief, all this over fuel ratings?
  13. It's the new RAV4, you'll spot a few lurking around.

  17. Mine is a 1994 TownAce "Lotto" model, bought by us unregistered in 1998.
  18. Welp I've been monitoring the data usage through the Dialog site, and if it is _at all_ accurate, my data usage is ~1.5MB per day. This is with all background data usage services off, polling 3 email accounts and two social networking profiles every 15 minutes through out the day (6am to 7pm).
  19. It's threads like this that make me thankful for driving a 17 year old vehicle (our family having owned it for 13 of those years) with which the biggest issue I've had to date were the gremlins in the a/c.
  20. If you feel like you're going knock the car in front of you, leaving a larger gap between it and yourself. Another reason why you feel that way maybe related to poor depth perception, thus compromising your ability to judge distances. My dad suffers from this to a degree, and he often comes very close to the car ahead of him before standing on the brakes (god bless ABS). Don't be scare to speed up. I believe learners can only teach you how to drive, but you have to really "feel" the car to be confident. To me, when I sit in the driver's seat, my vehicle becomes an extension of my body (yes that sounds creepy, but that's exactly how I feel), and everything I do comes naturally, often by reflex.
  21. My sig is from the 'one word' thread we used to have (I think it was deleted when the forum switched over to the new format?) Think of it as proof of concept of putting enough monkeys in a room with a type writer to eventually come up with McBeth As for the phone, I bought it to use a developer phone (M$ allows us to use any WP7 phone to develop on as long as w register it on the App Hub). It's not nearly as functional as my Desire S, but I do like the minimalist interface and the buttery smoothness of everything. I'm just worried my data usage, because there's no GPRS counter (M$ haven't opened up the network related APIs to us yet).
  22. I purchased an HTC HD7 last week, and I'm wondering if there are any others on AL who use a WP7 phone, and how much their monthly data usage is? I currently have the 350MB package enabled on my Dialog line, and with Android I would only go like 20-25 bucks over the top.
  23. When I use Hearos Xtreme Protection ear plugs, the only sounds I hear are the voices in ny head.
