  1. I dont mind having one of them, never knew there was a wagon version of this. I will take this or a one of those Galantly Vr's as I am a sucker for wagons.
  2. @Azmain Iqtidar the figures of 8-9kmpl I posted was about 15 years back when the car had done 115,000kms, it still does around that much even with more than 300,000kms on the clock. It all depends on how you drive, what kind of traffic conditions and the terrain you drive. You need to change the gearbox oil on time, change engine oil on time and do the necessary maintenance on time to have the car running smoothly. As you have mentioned where you are driving and the CNG conversion I suggest you try changing your driving pattern and habbits first then look at the more expensive work on the engine.
  3. Biden is looking to tax Chinese EV's 100% to level the playing field, so you want to tell me Tesla is having issues of competing and have found themselves pants down when real competition arrived.

China says they will impose 25% tax on all vehicles coming into the country. China is a big market for most automobiles (specially the luxury type) and this will hit them more than the 100% tax in the USA.

But 99% (well..a very high number) of all foreign manufacturer models sold in China are made in China anyway...especially a majority of the US brands.

Maybe they will be asked to pay taxes on foreign brands. I know that companies like MB and BMW make China specific models which shows how much they depend on China.

I remember a time when the world was going through recession China and Russia opened their markets for foreign companies and low and behold the struggling car makers suddenly started making money selling to the super rich Russians and Chinese who didnt have access to Western vehicles at the time.

  4. Engine oil or you want to know the fuel consumption? OT: Did any of you recall a FB post within the last two months about a E30 with a Toyota 3SG engine swap for sale? Was it a scam or genuine?
  5. Dont expect fairytale fuel fuel figures just because its a Toyota, when I had mine it did only around 8-9 city. If someone says that it should do 15kmpl forget it.
  6. @Duan27 shoul go ahead
  7. Pic B is a Daewoo Nubira. Pic A still not very sure
  8. Restomod Toyota Land Cruiser BJ43 with a Tesla drive train. Will it be a Stud or a Dud?

Depends on what you expect from the LC. Part of the appeal of the LC is the low grumbling diesel engine that will just keep going on and on...so in that sense, sticking a tesla drive train has killed the vehicle as it has taken away the most basic characteristic of it.

If you want a set of wheels that looks cool and would rip the tarmac off and even run the risk of taking off..then yes..the Tesla system would be fun.

  9. @matroska for some reason I cannot see the picture
  10. The Liana was a good car, it was marketed in Sri Lanka against the Corolla 121, didnt have much success of a Toyota but they were honest cars. The Brand New imports with the 1600cc came with Radio / Casette and CD Player and multifunction steering. On the 1300cc brand new ones the stereos were locally fitted. Its a comfortable vehicle with a very high seating position and very generous leg room. You are looking at the Facelift model which came with the analog speedometer cluster rather than the awful digital meters equipped version. From the outside the main difference were the bumpers which were much squarer on the facelift whereas the earlier car had round bumpers and also the front headlamps changed a bit. Fuel consumption I would say it should do around 8-9 city (1.6l) and around 12-13 outstation. The 1300cc ones will fare better on city, wont be that much underpowered since it was fairly good engine on the 1300cc (same as swift). When it comes to parts they wont be easy to find like you get on a Corolla or Sunny of the same era as they were never that popular. Stassens, Baurs and SL Navy (I think) ran a fleet of cars those days (this is before A*W took over the full agency)
  11. Congratulations! That is indeed a lovely vehicle to have. I believe its running L200 running gear? I wouldnt mind getting one but seems the prices have gone up drastically during the last year or so. Careful on taking bends too fast because of the high center of gravity than a double cab or SUV. Change the wheels, try to get an original set or get some steel wheels and remove that hood rack. BTW does it have the full rotating seats and the cool box at the front? One of my uncles had one (not in good condition) I dont know why he bought it in SL as he is in Qatar and never had plans to come back. I never saw it but believe it had the full glass roof and the works, sold it off sometime back as his bro in law couldnt maintain it and it was rusting he never asked me to look after it 😪. I have three such uncles who dont do the right thing. One is the former and then there is the elder one who lives in the US and wants to maintain a Humber Hawk in SL (now its rusted to the metal, last time I asked he said he was doing a proper restoration and wanted me to go hunting for parts cars.) Only reason he says he wants to keep it is because queen Elizabeth had given it to Sri Lanka 🤷‍♂️. He had a VW beetle and he told me to rescue it when it was too far gone. And the other has been a MINI lover had a MINI rusting at home for close to 20 years and sold it off when he moved houses, in the meantime troubled me to take him hunting for MIN's which I did and got him one which I did the required repairs and handed back to him, never took it out from home for once or twice (in 2 years). I told my mom that I am not going to help them again.
  12. I give it to @matroska
  13. Atrocious no? Smallest measurement of time in physics.
  14. @iRage take the turn because you gave the answer. I think Senna input was into strengthening the chassis etc after he was given a drive and were not implemented in the initial car and may have been implemented later in its life as you said, I just wanted to give a clue here for anyone who wanted to answer.
  15. Maye Senna had a say in this
  16. Yes it is. I saw an exact same colour today morning
  17. Ok then here is the next one. Very popular Make and Model in Sri Lanka.
  18. So the vehicle dimensions also fall under kei car dimensions? Interesting how there are ways to exploit even the Japanese regulations.
  19. Oh and on the V8 - https://www.evo.co.uk/caterham/7/6641/caterham-levante , https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spottedykywt/caterham-seven-levante-v8--spotted/40702 I am sure the V8 were two Japanese motorbike engines put together.
  20. I will leave the answer here. From one of our threads.
  21. I vaguely remember someone having one. Market trends from the country of engine? I thought this was built as an outright track machine from the 1950s and later made into a road car which you could buy in KIT form? Superlight weight, small engine, goes very well around the corners. There was a time they built one with two Yamaha R1(?) engines mated together with over 500hp as a limited production (or was it a concept only?)
  22. Did one of our forums members own one?
  23. Your second guess would be correct. Mazda Capella / 626 it is. Quoting Count Blockula from Vavulwatte it would have been "malli suck ekak dennada?" (And its not a bad thing)
  24. Ok then here you go, I was following one yesterday on my way home the guy was driving a bit odd as he used to accelerate suddenly and slow down to a crawl at times (sometime too careful) only when I overtook it I saw that it was an undertaker.
