What`s this C180 AMG? Never knew an AMG version came out with a 1.6liter motor? Are you revering to the C180 CGi BlueEfficiency thingy with the AMG trim line? The 1.6 liter motor i am referring to has got 154 horses as advertised, my car`s got about the same but I have to basically stand on the accelerator and wait for it to reach 210+ the Merc`s probably got more torque and linear power delivery.
  2. LoL..!! Just teasing.. keep trollin nigga..!!
  3. So what? you think we`ll give a s**it?
  4. The problem is Sylvi, I have no technical knowledge or experience on the subject. That`s why i`ve been keeping an eye on this thread. I`ve read arguments for and against idling mainly on diesel engines (where most say it`s OK), but am clueless when it comes to actual technical facts, specially for gasoline engines. Anyways, big applause for miniace for the clarification. One question mate, is this issue the same with modern gasoline engines? i mean shouldn't the ECU be reading the core temperature and doing some adjustments accordingly as to prevent plug fouling?
  5. So we are back to square one.! Is it good to keep engine while A/C on while parked or not?
  6. If Sylvi doesn't reply in time Mini, we need a technical write up from you on: "The effects of prolonged idling on modern motor car engines"
  7. LoL.. Sylvi must be working hard in his workshop or something.
  8. Naaah, no bother me at all buddy . Just that this was discussed ages ago, I`m sure there was a thread/post(s) in A/L. Went viral over the internet back in the day as well.. TG people sure know how to create drama eh? set it on fire being careful not to burn the whole thing up, ram in to a tree careful not to hit the radiator, go through plywood house, etc..
  9. Did you stumble upon this age old video all of a sudden? Or, are you in the market for a Hilux and just started your research?

Hell no..! It`s still a Toyota.!!
  11. But remember that they Jimny being a 4WD is geared lower (higher gear ratios, especially 1st, 2nd and 3rd), compared to a Liana, which could affect fuel consumption. I know I had to rev the nuts out of my Jimny to get it moving. Also, being a 4WD, the front hub (even though freewheeling) does have some internal friction compared to a RWD car`s front hub. I don’t know whether fuel efficiency was a factor in the move to FWD, but I know that published fuel figures of a 6 cylinder RWD Fold Falcon and a v6 FWD Toyota Aurion is almost the same.
  12. Apparently the official name is "Toyota GT86"??: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2375

Oh bummer, Green Project`s in action. P.S. more ike "Green Business"`s in business.
  14. It`s probably the wind helping in cooling + very less stress on engine when cruising at 80-100 constantly. Don`t think there`s anything to worry about.

Don’t forget to check the blind spots when switching lanes people. Very important when changing lanes while moving fast. Other things I’ve experienced on highway driving: * Get an idea about the stopping distance involved if you had to come to a complete stop while doing say 120km/h. When you`ve been travelling at a high speed constantly, the mind tend to accept the speed and forget that you’ll ever need to stop.! Constant high speed is different to reaching a higher speed within a shorter time period, coz you tent to concentrate less after a while. * IF you`ve got cruise control on, keep your foot on the break paddle. You don’t want to search for the paddle to break in a hurry (the habit of taking both feet off the pedals while on cruise has scared the shit out of me a few times when the moron in front decides to slow down all of a sudden). At the same time, cruise control can be a bitch when approaching a corner/bend, coz the car tend to go faster than it should. If you are not familiar with a particular bend break gently or turn of cruise control. * It`s ok to chat with other people in the car, but no looking back (or constantly looking at the front passenger), no fooling around, no eating while driving etc… (you can’t take things casual and go slow on a highway, stick to the speed limit and concentrate on driving). * Always anticipate hazards, if there`s a dog in front of you, break, but don’t try to avoid it if the speed is too much (unless you are Sebastian Leob maybe). A dead dog and a smashed front end is much better than the car doing a few summersaults along the highway. !
  16. Oh Bummer, bet that small SUV won`t fit in that gap with tons of armor hanging from front and rear..! P.S Speaking of Armor, are there many crazy zombies roaming around Colombo these days? Perhaps the reason for all the steel re-enforcements?
  17. I so wanted to post about that thing when i saw it yesterday Gave up thinking better not to diss any car on classifieds. Such a waste of a solid bumper and a winch How the hell is that tiny petrol motor going to support all that extra weight.?
  18. That`s exactly what Jeremy C demonstrated in that video. Plenty of Tourque Steer. The Mazda 3 MPS (FWD, Turbo, 255 hp as advertised) supposedly have the same issue.
  19. Well, the basic design has to be the same so I would say they are interchangeable. If you want to know whether there are any differences aesthetically, why not have closer look when you see one of these cars?

    Different Tire Sizes

The difference in tire sizes should not effect anything mechanical. It`s just that your rear tires are 10mm wider and 10mm taller than the front ones, that's all.

How about A/L members` meet up? ‘A/L Southern Highway cruise to Galle - 2011’ Anyways, share us some pics when you guys do the drive please.
  23. Or a misinformed idiot who tends to think that any sort of a Super Car must be driven on a track. “luxury racing car” is also his invention for a car term I believe.
  24. Aaaaand why should we care when used Jap vehicle traders fear?
  25. My favorite classic. different body on a VW bettle chassis. Haven`t come across this particular article before. Read to go with today`s lunch. Thanks Sylvi.
