been using a Toyota Premio since last september. it was a 1.8ltr and it was a really nice car and enjoyed using it. sold it last week. i always liked the crown and wanted to own it, so got a good deal and finally got her. my intention on buying a hybrid was not to save fuel but affordability, obviously i cant afford a petrol variant of the car since il have to pay an absurd amount for it, close to 20+ mill. eventhough its a hybrid, the 3450cc engine kicks out close to 305ps and it pulls like a rocket ( compared to my 1.8ltr premio that is =P).

sorry for the late reply don, the guy is from borrlasgamuwa. he`s specialized with all the electronic and electrical stuff and does a pretty clean job. if u want his contact pm me, il send it to u. my total cost was 6.5k to do the reset and fixing the fuse in the alternator.

i wouldn't recommend them. there are better places around. Kl*en Pa*r does a good job. my personal opinion.

iv got different figures but if you take the average its somewhere close to ur figure. 7.5 to 8 km/l. but it does really well when im going out station which im travelling every other day. does around 13.5 - 14.5 km/l.

true machan, the company said it was a fault in the ECU and quoted 80k to reset it to factory settings and also said that my setup will not work if they reset it. i took it to another dude who`s into all electronic stuff, he did everything for 4k and everything is ok now except for the alternator which has a busted fuse. thanks for the info machan. thanks for the info ruslan, as u said it was a alternator fuse. the fuse had gone off and ironically my one is also a ZRT260, i guess this may be a common problem in the 1.8ltr`s. the fuse is only available in the company, they r quoting 20k just for that. went to panchikawatta and found one from a damaged allion alternator for 1.5k.

guys, need ur help with this. im presently using a Premio 260 for daily use, today the battery gave up, the car`s steering also refused to work properly (i guess because of the electronic power steering shutting down). i jump started the car and brought it home some how, called e*cide and told them the battery model and they came and replaced it. but they said my ecu is not reset since all the lights in the power window buttons are blinking plus he said the alternator is not powering up the battery even though the car is on start. im thinking of taking the car to toyota tomorrow in the morning if the problem still exists. has anyone come across a similar problem?

guys, this calculation is according to my knowledge. regardless FOB value the duty is calculated according to the agent value. for eg. an allion(1500cc)agent value is Rs.2,450,000. so the duty is going to be, Rs.2,450,000 x 115% = Rs.2,817,500 (for a basic brand new allion) if your car is 3 years old according to the old depreciation table you have to pay only 75% of tax, Rs.2,817,500 x 75% = Rs.2,113,125 (remember that this value is minus the additional duty for extra options) now since the depreciation % has changed to 55%(correct me if im wrong), Rs.2,817,500 x 55% = Rs.1,549,625 difference is around Rs.563,500, but there is another thing with the excise duty, previously it use to be 17% for a vehicle under 1500cc, now it has been increased to 37%, so i dont know clearly how much more your going to pay for that. the above calculations are according to my knowledge and it is not 100% accurate. i also checked today with the customs as to how much duty will be charged on a hybrid vehicle. they informed me that if its full hybrid only at the range of Rs.750,000 will be charged as duty. the problem is i dont know what they mean about fully hybrid cuz every hybrid car i know has a 1.3,1.5 or a 1.8ltr normal engine in it. i was keen on importing a hybrid but dont want to take the risk since i clearly dont know what they mean by the term fully hybrid :s i hope these points help you`ll.
