  1. Guys its an e28 5 series not an e30. See the position of the door handles? I'm sure the lady got the car in a bit of a sandwich and this is the end result.
  2. A friend of mine told me today he spotted a red 2 door 510 bearing a 7 sri registration recently near cis. does such a car exist?
  3. Is it something German by any chance?
  4. I'd say running the car on the stock ecu after all the hard work you've do on the engine is a bit of a shame. I bet there are 50 new horses in that engine with the revs hitting 10k rpm. but with the stock ecu with its lower rev limiter I doubt you'll see a major difference other than response. If I was in this position I'd sell my organs to raise money for an aftermarket.
  5. That's mighty aggressive. your engine will sound like a race engine when you are done. but running on stock ecu idling might get pretty lumpy. Also may I suggest throwing in a knife edged crank while the engines apart considering the high rev limit?
  6. How aggressive are the cams compared to stock? are you gonna run them on stock ecu or going for an aftermarket? I seem to have developed a massive interest in high lift cams lately. So care to shed some light on this komi?
  7. Dashboard aside even that 70's grille is gonna cost you big money. Did you come across those sss sequential taillights on ebay? I've been stalking them for months now.
  8. Lol he's just a tinkerer at a somewhat rural garage. he's probably jacking up the price cos earlier I offered him 120k for it and cos he knows 2 doors are rare, Either way his price is totally unrealistic cos it would cost around 200k in labour to bring the body to showroom condition not to mention several good months. Then there's the issue of sourcing all the missing parts. This car has only a dashboard and seats for interior parts so you can imagine the scale of the problem. I'd say another 200k for that. Makes Givantha's car with all original parts look like a bargain. The rear suspension was independent. and was a real delight too. the brakes looked a bit rusty though. Anyway I found myself thinking about the car quite a few times today. Maybe Komi's thread will help me find some lost passion.
  9. The simple answer is no. Its cheaper to drop a high capacity engine thats compatible.
  10. I was told to go to redline too. I dropped by at this shop called chelsey and they said they can get one for 38k with a one year warranty. Cheaper than getting one on ebay but I think I can do even better. went to redline next and they wanted 45k for it. funny cos they both get it from the same agent. Anyway how much did you get yours for? and from where? Not sure Epsi does logitech anymore cos that sure was a long time ago. Must ask some tech geeks. Sure you can join me in the seat hunting quest. I was thinking of getting an old recaro seat off a trooper or something. But they are usually sold in pairs. So we can have one each that way. As for the stand I was gonna make one at my dads workshop. He's got all machines needed, thought of building a simple cage made with steel tubes and getting all the plates and supports CNC cut. so it has a nice, engineered, race car feel to it.
  11. I went to see the 510 today. It was completely different to how I saw it last time. Not that they've done anything to it except giving it a cheap coat of paint. This time I was looking at it in a more sensible way compared to last time when I was head over heels for it and was too busy haggling anyway. This time I saw it for what it was. Its a 45 year old cars thats changed hands a few times. and every time it changed hands, every time it was sold cheaper, so was the work done on it. Don't get me wrong it was pretty straight and tidy on the outside for a 45 year old car. But so much work has been done on it over the years it was far from perfect. It would have been better off if it was just neglected all its life. 120k was what I offered him last time. he has apparently bought it for 65k. Now he's lost interest and wished to see it go to a good home. I wanted to offer him 50 but didn't wanna make offers until I was absolutely sure I'm ready to take up such an arduous project. and then he tells me he wants 200k for it, for car with no upholstery and carpets that doesn't run. He's dreaming of course. I said No right away but he told me to go home and think about. I thought about it and went through my previous plans for the car. I still can't convince myself. It seems the passion is gone. Anyway I got a more realistic, down to earth build coming up. So I'll just get my kicks from that for now.
  12. I got a slightly used classic white 320 gb from a friend with 2 controllers and 2 games for 32k The games were nba something something and dirt 3. Dirt 3 was ok but wasnt so good that I found myself playing it day n night. As for the nba thingy I didnt even touch it and i'll probably sell them both. Because my plan is to build a driving simulator. With a tailor made stand, seat and everything. So I'm buying a GT 5 academy edition on ebay. And started looking for a logitech g27 wheel. I got a good price for a brand new one with a warranty. But hoping to get one from the agents for less. Any idea who the logitech agent is atm?
  13. fluid mechanics aside when you use a simple electric fan its just a uniform delivery throughout the rev range. whereas with forced induction the delivery should increase depending on the demand. Its like those fuel savers. just a sad placebo effect for a few dollars.
  14. Great! on the same day I bought meself a PS3
  15. I was going through the brochure recently. Said the automatic does 0-100 in 8 something seconds (could have been .5). The new one is also turbo'd. like it is all the way up to the C/E250.
  16. congratulations mate! how much did you pay for it?
  17. I've seen this before. its probably the best kept 2 door or even the best 510 in the country atm. But 600k is classic car money. I'd say 300k is top dollar for a well kept/original 510. Then again only the owner can truly appreciate the time and effort he puts into a car.
  18. AFAIK only the wagon came with a solid axle at the back. I never bothered to check this cars rear suspension cos of that. It was also had column shift. Didn't stress about it much cos I could just relocate it to the floor. Will probably go and check the car out thursday again. If its been ruined or has cart springs I can come home a content man.
  19. I was hit by the 510 bug a few months ago. checked out some cars online. But couldn't find one for sale for the right price. While talking to my garage fellow about my new obsession, to my surprise he told me this broker I know has a rare white 2 door in non running condition. Sounded like a great project car to me. His calls were not very promising and he talked more about money than actually showing me the car. soon it was clear to us that he had sold the car coupla days ago and he was trying to buy it back to sell it to me at a higher price. So on a rainy weekday morning I got in me insight and went to see the guy who had bought the car. It was another garage. he just worked there I think. The car was in bad shape but repairable. It was a white 1967 1.3L horizontal speedo model. It even had a nice registration. The owner said he bought it for 60k and this was his part time project at the garage and he has many plans for it including, to my horror, painting it in insight purple which he had decided as soon as i turned into the garage. So the bidding began. I bravely settled for 120k as my final offer with this fellow making 100% profit but he still said no. He was clearly in love with it and even telling him I can provide a much better home for it didn't help. I don't think he had any idea about the potential this car has. So I went home empty handed and let go of the idea eventually Anyway after seeing this I think I'm gonna go have another look at it. Hope he's run of time resources and enthusiasm so I can take it off his hands *fingers crossed*

I have a troll face decal on the fuel cap. Does that make my Vios unique?

No, that makes u unique to come with such an idea

  21. I quite like the fielders too. for the dull and boring sedans they are based on those things have so much character especially when lowered and fitted with 16"s. I'd even go as far as saying a 2zz-ge engined fielder makes a very good choice for a one car household. too bad they don't offer a hot version anymore
  22. Elections must be good fun in japan I thought they meant crown in different languages
  23. I think you should let people contact the admins and confirm whether their cars are worthy or register them before the meet. just to minimize the conflicts. One reason is certain owners can be a bit rowdy. and the other is there are some tastefully done up day to day cars too.
  24. that feeling when you come home and there's a brand new top gear episode waiting to be seen
