If it's 8 bucks plus say even another 10 bucks for shipping the DIY kit is worth, as 1500 is 15 bucks and I am sure u can use the DIY kit more n once.
  8. Hey dude, Well if you want to go OEM then you can't go the Induction kit route either you'd just have to put in a drop-in replacement filter which won't do squat. An intake mod won't mess up your scene I can guarantee it, if you want a reference on me from Negombo just ask Rohith at Fib#x about the guy with the specially modded Nissan. Heck he's got the car STILL As for price I think below 15K is about the best bang for the buck you're going to get around here. Cheers, Porky
  9. Ado ZZ, Remember a car's exhaust systems starts where the gas comes out as in the exhaust ports, which is what the stock restrictive manifold bundled with a more restrictive CAT is attached to. So before doing post manifold mods best we put in that new header first. No your consumption will not be compromised but as said in earlier threads just cos you can go faster don't be a lead foot It is unfortunate we cannot find a decent welder here with a mandrel machine so best we get it from USA. After doing your exhaust, heat wrap, custom 2" ss piping to the muffler, performance muffler (Monza will do in this case) we can look to adding an HKS AFR and slightly richening your air fuel mixture to handle the increase of air from the CAI. Lastly we can do the headwork. Cheers, Porky
  10. I am a guy who wants to do simple mods like replacing a head lamp with the projector lamps etc. The cone type one comes with the original pipe fitings and that may cost 20k itseems which they do not have in stock. before i forget, the Local K&N dealer was very neagtive on modifiying and setting up the cone type air filter saying its always a flop as the heat gets overlaped Dear Hola, Well they called for help so here I be With regards to the above I have noted you to be a bit more on the rice side than the tuner type. This is OK as to each his/her own. However since I note also that our authoritarian parts dealers are wimps and try to dissuade anyone from trying anything different than buying what they have in stock (and usually shyte stock) I would like to add my 2cs worth. Your Honda can definitely have a CAI fabricated as can just about any other car on the planet except for purpose built high performance machines that already come with all the performance enhancing garnishes. Whatever you do though DON'T TAKE IT TO STAFFORD, they are not tuners, simply mechanics who know how to remove a defective and sometimes even non defective part and replace to with their overpriced new one. Yes they have some machines and have got some Japs down to train em here n there but believe me they know squat about tuning. Installing a CAI is one of the first steps in increasing your ability to 'go'. There are standard kits available for your car but by the time we import it it will not be to your rice budget (joke...but true). Hence I can recommend you go get a metal top K&N cone filter from Motorc*de first. Then if you like I can pay a small visit with you to the El Retardo place (joke...but they are retards) where under my guidance we will impart upon them some genuine enlightenment.....the duration of this will be about the same as the attention span of a gnat but alas we will have our job done. All this should not cost more than 9K for filter + 3k to the retards so all in all you'll have a custom CAI for around 12K....oh and we might need a silicon reducer which will be round 1-2K. You can expect some mild HP gains in the 5-8bhp category, better Wide Open Throttle (WOT) response and around 1-2 lbs of torque. If you're seroius just drop me a mail at [email protected] and we can take it from there. Cheers, Porky
  11. Hey Dude, Yeah that's the one, pls sned me the link as I would mind having a softcopy as backup. Cheers, Porky
  12. Ehhh Malla, Yes it's a family affair now (move over Sly n The Family Stone) As for econ conjecturing, none of it applies correctly to Sri Lanka, simply because we got most of our forex income from Blue collar and housemaids sending in tons o dolla hollas. We got fuel subsidies so even the man walking pays for fuel yet the price is still huge. Are the cars these importers bring in really worth that much??? Heck no! Do you really think they only keep a Rs.5-10K profit margin?? Heeeeellll no! You check Jap auction sites for Corollas and Sunnies and they be damn cheap. Even after the huge 300% taxes they still be cheap but our buggers have mark ups of 100s of Ks. If anyone can get a hold of the Ports or Customs sheet for tax breakdowns please post here we can all get down our own cars. We got tuk tuks running haywire chargin more to go 1 mile than a cab! Rs. 100 for a KM for a tuk tuk versus Rs. 25 with a cab! Tuk tuk get 30 Ks per liter and they've been given a further inceNtive by cheaper 87 octane fuel with the 'hope' they will conscientiously reduce their rates...NOT! Metering? Duh what's that they say? Consumer affairs....gee wish Ralph Nader was Sri Lankan! we have an affairs ministry but they sit on their heinies all day or we would not have situs like haywire Tuk tuks, CBN SAT or Pramuka Bank....... So what's the point of all this?!! Yeah car's are damn expensive more than houses but our folks buy em, bank's give leases, we all go broke paying for a ride and the delaers are very happy! So let's all start recon car joints! HUZZAH HUZZAH Cheers, Das Pork
  13. Ehhhh heh Malla, welcome to the site, yes cars are a ripoff here but what to do. Only good thing is when us poor ole Shri's come to the good ole US of A we'll be having maxa pimped rides cos we pay Porsche prices here for Uni student compacts Cheers, Porky (aka ur lokku aiya)
  14. Hey bro, Thanks for the kind compliment, will keep you posted, you can call me on 461 7077 during 9am-5pm wkdays ask for Mike Cheers, Porky
  15. Hey bro, I added some info to my profile, I have put a small glimpse of the car's front bumper here for you to get an idea. Cheers Porky Try that pic upload again &*^%&*&^&*****
  16. Hi Ashan, Bro the car is in Sri Lanka currently getting some ricey stuff done to it, want to upgrade it to a Spec-R. Color is a secret currently as it is part of the 'ricing' hehehe. I have a tonne of parts going to be available soon and can offload some to you, all my parts are either from USA, Japan or Aussie, all are genuine no I don't have a bunch of stickers on the side These cars and most Nissan take very well to mods and are a pleasure to work on. Soon on offer will be my HKS Piggyback ECU and Pacesetter header. Fitted right it will make ur car haul ass! Can help you with that also if you like. As for my profile.....well I tried to upload pics and send PMs and a bunch of other stuff but it said I am restricted??? Cheers, Porky
  17. Nissan 200sx Bought the sound dampening mats from Wurth, I wanted to get Dynamat Extreme but then the import cost and price of the roll came out to about $100 more than the Wurth stuff so I went with the Wurth mats. Still cost a capload to cover the car from Bonnet to Trunk but is well worth if you're planning on running Dynaudio, Precision Power, Tara Labs and Eclipse Hey buddy, Sounds like a fun project for sure and very doable at low cost, my only suggestion would be if you are planning on going boost maybe you should look to switching over to EFI as opposed to Dl Carb. Good luck and TC, Porky
  18. I have a Hanes service manual for the GA14,15 and 15 DE engine configs but it is a hardcopy, if you want you can have some photocopies. You'll definitiely need it if you're looking to service the car yourself or mod it.
  19. Also suggest you run your tank near empty when the light come on put in a full tank of 95 Octane or 3 star, at the same shed you use now, also the Flower Road one is quite good. This will help your ECU to readjust itself and the pingng from the lean mixture should go away. Cheers, Porky
  20. Sound proofing is being done to perfectly isolate the sound coming out of the speakers and keep out the road noise. You can't go SQ unless this is done, most Jap cars come with crap insulation unlike the Euro cars which have a nice solid thud when you close the door, due to this if you plan on running a premium system then you need to first strip the car down and soundproof the puppy. Cheers, Porky

  22. Hi, For what application are these? Or what vehicle can these be used in? Cheers, Porky
  23. Well since you have only a minute amount of SS attaching to you stock intake piping you don't have much to worry about. But you can get the heat wrap at the same place you got the K&N, Hurricane brand, usually crap but in this application is fine and tons better than McFoil. Also to bring down your overall engine bay temp you can use the remainder of the heat tape to wrap your exhaust manifold, to do this you'll first have to remove your heat shield wrap the manifold and replace the heatshiled if possible but not needed really with the wrapping. Er....I am that friend who gets the aluminum pipes heheheheh turbo??? Shhhhhh Keep up the good word, spread it well all go no show....the force is strong in the one Porky

    B14

You could probably get anywhere between 900K-1.2 Mill
  25. You're getting that sound because you are running lean. This could be for a bunch of reasons for this including the fact that your injectors are not performing to their optimum pulse rate and may need replacement or that the ignition timing maybe off. Suggest you take it right back to D*MOS and get them to hook it up to a wideband O2 sensor and adjust everything again and tell their manager as well, you've paid for a tune up and they have to give you that, make sure you go to the service center behind the stadium. A tune up means that your car should run Stoich not lean or rich, if they can't do that correctly you need to get them to fix it. I would NOT take it to A*W because they wouldn't know what a wideband sensor is if it hit them on the head, so don't jump from frying pan into the fire but rather get the heat adjusted
