Currently I'm using a Maruti 800 and planning to upgrade to a second hand Nissan March K12 or Viva Elite manual transmission car around 1.6M. My first choice is March k12. My problem is, if I buy a Nissan March k12, will I be able to find spare parts easily? Your comments are highly appreciated........

Finally I found the solution. The steering rack damper was stuck and I have replaced the damper. As per the manual the adjustment as follows; "After tightening rack damper screw (3) to the tightest point, turn it back by 0 – 90 and check for rotation torque of pinion" Thank you all for the comments.

When I drive my Maruti 800 on pot holes, rough roads, I hear a metal hitting sound. Altough I replaced all bushes, tie rod ends, lower arms, still any mechanic could not find the reason for this. The steering rack damper was tightened but no luck. Rack ends too seems ok. My mechanic says "replace steering rack". Milage 52k. Any comments?

Replacing 60/55W Bulb With 100/90W H4 Bulbs
mjayanath replied to mjayanath's question in Electrical problems
Rectangular sealed beams (7.25 * 5 inches) or reflectors having the same dimensions, can be fitted to Maruti 800 old models. -
My car is MARUTI 19- I have replaced my old headlamps (100/90w)recently as the reflectors were corroded. The new lamps(used-Japanese-they called reconditioned)came with 60/55w original bulbs. Now I have doubt in replacing 60/55w bulbs with 100/90w bulbs because I heard excessive heat of 100/90w bulbs would damage the reflectors. Your comments please.......

My car Maruti 800 (Carb) year 1996 I replaced my old worn PCV valve with a new one. Engine vibration at the start up is now increased although I expected vibration to be decreased after replacing PCV valve. Can someone explain or advise me?

There are one or two drops of water seen on water pump seal. Radiator water level drops after every run but not reservoir tank's level. Radiator fan switches on when temparature gauge reaches 1/3, (but not half). The previous owner simply mentioned that there is a overheating problem. (I replaced thermostat valve on radiator with a genuine one). Is this water level drop in radiator is a sign of overheating?

The technician who removed the plugs said no oil can be seen on plugs. Acceleration problem solved to a considerable extent. Thank you guys for your valuable comments! :)

I have replaced existing Nissan plugs with Bosch plugs. One plug (removed) was full of carbon but other two were not that bad. I shall let you know the outcome.

After reading all your comments I think there is something else that I should mention here. I can start the engine in the morning & in a traffic. But it is very difficult to start the engine after 10 minutes or more (after few miles run). But if I let the engine cool for 2 hours I can start the engine. Does this related to acceleration problem?

Sorry

Year of Manufacture is 1996 Pulling isuue is with A/C off. If I switch on A/C, condition is worst. Does this problem related to considerable engine shake in the morning & unbearable shake in the afternoon after a run in the morning. Sorry for troubling you all.

Sorry! Only 3500 Km only for the past one & half years.

I bought the car in August 2007. Carb cleaned, contact point & Piston rings replaced in November 2007, (After 3 months). Complete tune up done & carburator cleaned again at A*W in January 2008. Mileage 142000

I find it difficult to accelerate the engine (Maruti 800, Carb) as soon as I start the engine in the morning. But if I let it idle for few minutes (5 minutes or more), gradually it becomes ok. Is this normal ?

Thank you MINIACE for your comments. I am a structural engineer who has a little knowledge on Automobiles. I do not intend to test AL members knowledge as I value your comments very much and want to educate myself. The problem with me is I find it very difficult to get my car repaired properly by a technician who usually cover up the problem or replace a part which very rarely solve the problem. I read a article about PCV valve. It says it is better to spray some carburettor cleaning fluid in this valve for better idling quality. As my car has a rough idling when not very hot, usually in the afternoon after a journey in the morning, I asked from my technician about PCV valve and the proposed test, he said he has no idea about a PCV valve. So I hope you understand why I ask you this type of questions.

My car MARUTI 800. My headlights are 100/80 watts. Electrician introduced relays to safeguard the switch. Is it advisable to use 100/80W instead of 60/55W? If I replace 100/80W bulb with Original 60/55W bulb will I get a acceptable result?

Is this breather line oneway ( air travels in one direction only)? If oneway let me know the direction.
