Have not used Shell Helix but for me the best fully Syn oil for me is Castrol Edge. Been using it for years and before it came its predecessor Castrol RS.

I have been planning to replace my ancient 29" (1999) Sharp TV (I know I am totally out of date here ) from the time LED's hit SL Finally I am going to do it one of these days. Had my eye on the Samsung 42 Smart TV but now I'm shifting towards the LG 42. The reasons are because Samsung - Made in India (I don't like) vs LG - made in Korea (claims the agents) vs Sony Bravia - made in Malasiya. 1. Samsung - Rs. 240k 2. LG - Rs. 207k Special promo HSBC card. 3. Sony Rs. 280k It looks like the LG is a no-brainer. Just wanted to get some feedback from anyone with experiences. Thanks.

The CX looks great I think and the reviews have been quite decent. Hopefully our roads will become a little better looking with some sales. Mazda desperately needs this award as it too is struggling for survival.

Whatever you do avoid the diesel. There are only a handful of cars here. We owned one (purchased un-reg almost brand new) and it was one of the most unreliable cars we've ever owned. The timing belt kept snapping on a regular basis and the engine went bust requiring a full re-build at a very low mileage. Can't recall the exact figure now. The agents (you know who) were quite spaced out about it and told us all the other diesels were not even running. I'm guessing that batch of cars had some defect (probably fixed by recall in EU) and some mods might have sorted this but we had lost patience.

Actually I was in love with that place. In my short stint there it made me feel like it was a different world altogether. The kind of place that makes you feel everything and go into some surreal world. Gosh I need to go there again.

A bit OT here but what's the power output on the older boxy Swift Sport?

Interesting option. If ever you have an annoying dis-likable passenger you know what to do. Roast his balls or fry her P****y!

Just remembered couple of interesting high speed moments I had overseas after seeing racerboy's post. Victoria Australia Top Speed - 145-ish km/h Car - 1978 Volvo 244 DL Auto. Mods - none Location - Healsville suburb can't recall the name of the road. All I know is it bypasses the town and goes through a beautiful vineyard. Completely deserted and you can see the other end of it, so you know if there is a vehicle coming well in advance. Worked for a short while in Healsville and everyday after work I took the long way home, sometimes doing two runs I discovered it as I worked on the bus that went through the vineyard. What Prevented you from going further - That felt like close to the max in my old Volvo and I was on a student budget..... Thailand. Speed - slightly above140 km/h Vehicle - My then gf's Thai made Honda City (the first gen sedan) Location - Highway Returning from Aythaya to Bangkok. What Prevented you from going further - It honestly felt like I was doing 200km/h. Wind noise, Tyres felt like they were at the end of their grip and I had a feeling that any more and we'll get airborne The most interesting thing that happened however was that at that speed I was overtaken from either side (I was in the middle lane) by a BMW E36 and Peugeot 405 Mi 16 in what seemed like a flash. The turbulence was so bad that we felt the Honda squirm and I had to fight the steering to stay in the lane. I was immediately ordered to slow down

Buying A Car!! ... Honda Fit , Insight Or Toyota Vitz?
GTAm replied to Junkfriend's question in Car Buying Information
There are so many porblems that come up in Sri Lankan driving conditions that do not show up in hotter places like your Death Valley where they are tested. You simply cannot isolate temperature as the only variable that impacts the car. There's humidity, dust, stop-start traffic, average length of a journey, rutted roads that cause so much vibration on components, impure fuel......the list goes on. Why do you think we owners of Alfa Romeo FPT Twin spark engines are required change their t-belts at every 40,000kms while in the UK 60k? Will get you comprehensive info shortly. I did not give much attention to it as I trust the guy's tech knowledge. Besides that he's a massive Honda fan and it was grudgingly that he told us this. He also hates Toyotas and the 2nd surprise was that he said the Toyota's cooling system was much better. He also said the UK Honda's were even worse that the Jap ones. Anyway will call him tomorrow. Anyway I think I should be able to get you some more info shortly. -

Buying A Car!! ... Honda Fit , Insight Or Toyota Vitz?
GTAm replied to Junkfriend's question in Car Buying Information
Guys just heard something about Honda Hybrids from a Honda guy whom I have no reason to doubt. According to him the battery suffers from inadequate cooling in our climate and thus sharply reducing the battery life. The problems are just beginning to show their faces so it's early day, but it could be the first few sneezes before the avalanche. The Toyota hybrids do not have this problem according to him. -
50% of Aston Martin is for sale too

Correct Gummy. Can't be that much of a speedo error too. Unless someone had it electronically DE-restricted.

Depending on the car and how much you would like to spend this is as good as they get. http://www.ruoteborrani.com/wire-wheels-for-automobiles.php

That reminds me was in a friends Forester Turbo on the way to Galle on the day we did 240km/h on the way back in the 159. The Forester was also limited to 180 and could not stay with our Alfas.

I will be surprised if anything changed. very unlikely I think.

Can't believe I have not joined in here for so long. Thought I had. Anyway here goes. Top Speed :- 240km/h Machine :- Alfa Romeo 159 2.2 JTS Mods :- None Road :- Expressway in it's first few days. What prevented you from going further :- That was the max. Most of the time it was 200-220 occasionally we hit 240 for a few seconds. Top Speed :- 190km/h Machine :- Golf GTI Mods :- none Road :- Parliament What prevented you from going further :- Left turn arriving fast. Top Speed :- 200 km/h Machine :- Merc SL 55 AMG Mods :- none Road :- Green Path What prevented you from going further :- The Round-about And the most memorable one............................. Top Speed :- 160 km/h Machine :- Fiat Regata 100S Mods :- none Road :- Kandy Road Peliyagod towards Kelaniya What prevented you from going further :- This is the interesting part, it was some time in the early 90's when they used to show the F1 Gran Prix on ETV if I'm not mistaken. There was a drought and regular power cuts. I could watch the first half at Kotahena where we lived and one of my classmates who lived in Waragoda, Kelaniya would get back their power as soon as our went off. Thought I would attempt to get to his place to see the last part. I doubt we would come up with such a far fetched plan today but in those days traffic was relatively thin on a Sunday evening and we were young I was doing a "Schumarcher" and suddenly the railway crossing was in front of me. No time to react I only managed to look at the speedo which showed "100". Bounced over the railway tracks and suddenly realized that was "Miles Per hour"! The so called magic 100 had been hit without knowing it!

I wonder why the white one is still un-reg.

Car With Ample Luggage Space Below 2.2 Million / Nissan Wingroad Models
GTAm replied to The Stig's question in Car Buying Information
Auto boxes on Pugs are a bugger from what I hear. Better go for a manual if at all.
