  1. Might be a good move! We need some fantasy back. After all we are all facing grim reality these days!

I thought I could have, until a a fellow member of the ICE club called us in wee hours of Thursday morning to tell us that he's just bought one from Negombo
  5. Damn! Great! When can we pop in to have a look? My other Sud pals will love to see it as well. Talking of the KE20 kind of car..... I saw a nice looking 2 Door Datsun Cherry! Never realized it was Fwd. The guy wanted 325k

  7. BTW what news about that soulful Italian machine you were looking at?

What you need is an Alfa Romeo mate! They are not expensive to maintain. I'd even bet that they are cheaper than your Cefiro

I've heard the opposite actually. VW group products are a killer. And not too reliable as well. NDB bank had a fleet of Passats and had to sell before the change was due. They were fed up with the repair bills. The S40 s are definitely very cheap to maintain given all that Mitsubishi hardware on them.
  10. Yes lets meet up. Why not join the CCCC? Then we're forced to meet up . Sunday runs are good fun. And Mahagastota revival is coming up! Perhaps one of your machines will be ready?

It was an option on the Sei. There only a few in SL.

Now now Mr. Fiat owner. Youy're mixing up your models. You need another 100 to describe that car
  13. I'm having the same prob for the Giulia. Was thinking of getting them made. Or else I'll have to import them from overseas.

  17. Huh what d'you know you're out of the country for 5 days and when you get back you've missed the most interesting recent topic!!! In my experience I've found that the sensitivity varies from person to person. Some aren't too picky about what you drive while others are. probably the more shallow bimbos! Second chicks don't understand a ball about cars even if some genuinely show interest. The interest shown is more to do with being nice to the man. Don't we know how to show interest in dead boring subjects just to please them? It's similar.... So it's better to lead the thinking always, if a decision on purchase is being made. I've had 3 great "love mobiles" when I was much younger and the car was the only place to get "busy" One was the 16- Mazda wagon we owned in the early 90s and the 18- Grand Civic that replaced it. If only the cars could talk. The 3rd one was not a car, but actually was the best!!!! It was our company Mazda Bongo van . The space made things very flexible! And we did not have to worry about being seen as the windows would steam up pretty fast As for pulling chicks. In SL I'm afraid the most magnetic brand is Mercedes. The sterling three point star silver key ring I had for my 500 SEC went a long way in moistening a few panties As for car talk. All the women I know find it quite boring considering the relentless barrage we emit when I meet up with my car buddies. But we really can't help ourselves can we? I always tell them that they should be thankful that we are not discussing our secret lovers !!!!!
  18. I think it's unfair to put all Korean cars in the same boat. Sure some of them might have issues. But as pointed above it could be due to lack of knowledge when it comes to maintenance. Let's not forget that some Japanese cars have earned similar reputation when it comes to CVT boxes, due to wrong oil used etc. Then there's the Mazda BG5 where the auto boxes are fragile things and I've learned this personally the hard way. When it comes to big cars I'm afraid Koreans won't do well in holding their value and being desirable. For that matter many Jap cars don't do well either. Cefiros and Mazda 626s for example. And for that matter non-premium Euro stuff like Peugeit 605s and Opel Omegas for example. However as xXx points out if the price is right and the car is in great shape why not save some bucks over a Japanese one? The new Korean stuff however are on par with Japanese and in some instances are closer to European cars. I recently drove the latest Kia Cerato and was surprised. The only areas in which they lag behind now I think is engine tech and interior quality.

Oh that's news. No idea what his plan is..... but it might be a good time to make friends with the guy if someone's interested. All these difficult characters yield eventually. The secret is keeping in touch on a regular basis. It's amazing how some of my pals have bought cars that we were convinced that would rot to the ground.

No way! It's just PR. It's def not a real drag. The Mito is one of the lightest cars in the class - A lot lighter than the Mini for example. 240bhp vs 140-150bhp......no chance. The GT"A" is going to have the best power to weight ratio, according to AR. There's tall of CF and Alu being used. I hope so..... Anyway Geneva is in a week or two eh?
