  1. Matchbox for 1:43 scale and autoart for 1:18 scale. I have to dig up my matchbox collection. There's almost 400 1:43 scale cars that I've been collecting since I was about 8 years old.

  8. You have got to be kidding me!
  9. The choice was to either accept the 'blame' or blame the customer. After having recalled over 8 million vehicles, Toyota took the former approach, rightfully so. Recently, there have been many news reports blaming the media for all the hype. If you're to read some of the news articles you would think that Toyotas have a mind of their own and accelerate out of control on their own. After all this is said and done, no accident was link to sticking throttle.
  10. All the major manufacturers are building cars to a set standard based on where the car is sold. There are minor changes such as side impact beams that is required on vehicles sold in most US states. There is no car in the world, short of a tank, that can withstand this sort of an impact. As to the Toyota unintended acceleration issue; don’t drink the coolaid. The US roads are filled with people who have got no clue as to how to operate a vehicle. Getting a drivers license here is just a joke. When I got my license, it took all of 15 minutes which included the 500 feet or so that I had to drive to prove that I’m capable of operating a vehicle. You can easily train a monkey to pass the driving test here. All the unintended acceleration issues with Toyotas have been debunked and proven to be driver error. People were stepping on the throttle thinking that they are applying the brakes.
  11. Where should I start?

  14. If you look very carfully at one of the pictures you'll see a yellow carpet strand stiking out. That's all me.
  15. This one got into the publications much sooner than I thought so.... without further ado... I'll throw rest of the buld pictures later on. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/10/first-look-toyota-tacoma-x-runner-rtr-ready-to-race.html

  18. The traction question had come up more than once. I thought the same thing as the bed is made of composite so it's even lighter than the metal bed. It's all going to depend on how well the weight can be transferred to the back wheels during launch. The truck should squat pretty well and the cut-out in the frame for the rear axle to tuck in coupled with the leaf springs which carry a less of a 'bow' should allow for most of the weight to be transferred to the back tire. Traction bars may be an option if it starts to 'wheel hop.' The unofficial version.
