    Crashed

Went out for a ride with few friends on a local windy highway. This was about a 400 mile loop that we do once a month or so. Barely into the ride, about 10 miles, coming out of a right hand corner, the front end washed out. Hit the ground face first at about 80 Mph and slid for about 50 feet. I'm so glad I had all my gear on. Didn't get one scratch on me but I feel like I just got hit by a hammer.

  18. Upon closer inspection of the candidates running for the highest office in the US, I have decided that neither one is qualified to perform the job at hand. So, I have made the decision to run for the US Presidency. I'm yet to pick my running mate but I hope for someone with at least a D cup. Here is my promotional video and I'm happy to announce that I have a pretty good backing from people all around this country. Even the hillbillies and red necks are supporting my movement. Very encouraging news, indeed! http://www.tsgnet.com/pres.php?id=370617&a...altl=Kbzbtjohif I hope that I can get your support as fellow Sri Lankans as well. Of course, with my candidacy, there is the obligatory promises that I must make. Fro the time being, I have come up with the following promises that I plan on keeping. I'm also open to any suggestions from you all, as your support is vital in me being elected to the highet office in the United States. Upon my election, I will: 1. Make Sri Lanka a nuclear nation with batteries of weapons pointing in all direction 2. Will build at least 3 race tracks and offer it for free to all AL members 3. Will out-law all brass and panties unless they are of the thong variety 4. Will make it a law that all ladies must flash any AL members upon confirmation that he is a member of AL. To all ladies who are members here, we can talk about your requirements. [please sumit your request with your picture for consideration]. If you have any other priorities, that you would like me to consider, please feel free to post. I shall include all of it in my agenda and will wholeheartedly consider it. Thank you in advance for your support.

    Some Say ...

Not bad but how about $14.5 mil for a plate? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/babylonbey...on-check-t.html
  20. Have you checked the throttle position sensor [TPS]to make sure that it's fully functional? Given the description, I would look into that. Have your mechanic test that and compare the data against the factory recommended numbers. I'm assuming that this is a fuel injected car. If that's the case you will have an air flow sensor but doubt that is the cause of your problem.
  21. The white is the second gen Prius and the blueish green is the first gen. First gen did have an issue with the batteries but was corrected on the second gen. Even with the second gen the batteries will require replacing after about 5 years [+- on how the car is used]. This car will do well in SL as these were heavily tested on extreme climates. Depending on the price and how many miles/Kms one is driven, it'll take years to make up the difference in gas savings. Servicing them will be a challenge as well since the electrical system will require special training to work on. Toyota will bring a plug-in hybrid in 2010 to US. That may be a better vehicle for SL given that most people don't drive more than 100 miles in a day. By 2015 you should be able to see almost every model from Toyota in a hybrid form.
  22. Are you manually turning the OD on and off? If you are, I don't think you have to do that. The automatic trans will select the proper gear that it should be given the engine load and speed. That said, if you want to check if the OD works or not, just bring the car up to 50-60 and press the OD button once and see if there is a change in your engine RPM. If the engine RPM changes, then it's working. If not I would start with the ON/Off switch and work my way back to the trans and trouble shoot the cause. Good luck.
  23. LOL First thing you do is to get rid of the back foot pegs and remove the back seat. Never have to worry about the governor anymore. My governor won't even get on it. So sad

    Some Action Shots

Preveen, Your are correct in that the focusing is actually slower in comparison to the 40D. Especially if the object is moving toward the camera. On fast moving objects, you have to acquire the target well in advance and then follow it to your shutter point. The 40D will acquire the target much sooner and snap 2-3 frame burst by the time the Nikon hits one frame. I'm very anxious to see how the D300 performs. I played around with it inside the house for a little bit and it seems to acquire the target just as quickly as the 40D, even with low light and a zoom lens. I should have a better idea, this weekend, on the D300's performance in real life situations with fast moving objects.
