Hi Guys,

I used to have a diesel car and dont have much experience in petrol ones. Pls see the above picture and let me know what this deivce is and its function(s).

It has couple of air hoses going through it to the air intake. My car is a toyota but this device seems to be a nissan one. ??

I think it's the evap canister too, if it has wires plugged in it almost definitly is the charcole canister for the evap.

This keeps your petrol tank vapors and when suitable releases them into the intake side of the engine to reduce pollution frfom petrol vapors being released to the atmosphere.

Thank you Mean Green z28 and Maithri for your valuable info. Yes, Its Evaporative Emissions canister. My car is a toyota but this canister is Nissan made one. What if its broken? Does it affect my fuel efficiency alot. ??

It's a charcoal canister and strictly for emissions. Will not effect the fuel mileage.
