No doubt it has definitely got sandwiched between two vehicles. Most probably it had limited liability insurance so the owner had no option but to do the cheapest possible recovery job on it. True that the replacement BMW parts will always be difficult/expensive to source but the owner wouldn't have been a BMW enthusiast to take that path. That's a lot of Ifs in my post though. Hopefully schiffer will be able to give us some first hand info tomorrow...

if it cant be rescued, ill volunteer to buy the owner a couple of toyota badges.
  4. Yoohoo Cali.... Cali where are you....?

      where, where?!

  6. What you need is a brand new vehicle with a warranty. If you can't afford a B/N Vitara, get a B/N Maruti or something. Because you are expecting a brand new vehicle's performance from a decade old car. 110000 is not a high usage. In another thread I talked about a 90s Ford Laser with 381000 on the clock and the car runs like it left the production line yesterday. And what's even more ironic is the fact that, that particular engine was made in Thailand or Malaysia (though rest of the car was made in Japan).
  7. You must be joking. On the contrary, odometer adjusters are mushrooming now.
  8. Sorry I got the letters mixed up. The local specs are LX and GLi. Im not too interested in corollas so someone who knows them better might answer.
  9. 1. Get rid of that picture u got as the signature. Its eating up bandwidth 2. The two versions in Sri Lanka are XLi and GLi. Both are available as 1.6 Petrol or 2.0 Diesel. GLI is the higher spec 3. Singapore version of 141 is called altis. There is a LX in the singapore version
  10. This is probably the '510'

could it be possible that the car was converted to diesel and the cheap ass owner 'forgot' to register it.. anyway i am quite skeptic about it having the original engine. would such a cheapo pump petrol for a 6pot?
  12. Only a special kind of idiot will make a buying decision on a vehicle, based on its odometer reading.
  13. Can't recall which post u r referring to... but let me make it clear... KDH MAY BE able to do 160 or even 180... But that doesn't mean that you should try that, because its a vehicle with a fairly high center of gravity and very poor handling. You are risking serious injury by trying it.

    406 Vs Gen 2

Gen2 is a heavy car. Even 1.6 engine is not powerful enough for that car. 1.3 engine is good if u drive like a grandma. your belief of smaller engine giving better fuel economy is a myth! In most cases, 1.5 versions of the same car gives better fuel economy than the 1.3 because it gives better power to weight ratio. All Reconditioned Gen2s are singapore-imports. In some cases, the registration book may give country of origin as Japan but that's false info. Go for a Gen2 which is imported Brand New. Also if you are concerned about fuel economy, Gen2 is not the car for you. No matter what the seller says, Gen2 will NEVER do more than 9. A likely figure (which I have verified with the agent's service advisor) is 7-8km/ltr.
  15. PM Forum member Vishkid. He knows Axelas inside out. As for Familas, the 1.5 variant should give about 9-10km/litre. Edit: Just found this http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/7190-mazda-familia-fuel-economy/
  16. NO. Believe me, I found out the hard way.
  17. Holy mother of god! sylvi, u do realize that a gas cylinder, even an empty one, can cause an explosion...
  18. Has cali actually lost his marbles??? his last few replies are totally irrelevant gibberish...

Didn't have any marbles to start with.

  19. woke up too early, thanks to the frickin cats in the neighborhood. felt guilty to bash them up so wanted to bash cali instead...
  20. Interesting... Peri said: There have been AWD SUVs that can get 10-11 for years on years. They were called diesels. and then Cali says: Interesting. I didn't know a diesel six cylinder luxury SUV exists that could match hybrid fuel economy, especially in stop and go city driving. Now look whos talking out of context here... only thing Peri said was 10-11 fuel economy and AWD... and cali *imagines* the words six cylinder, luxury, hybrid fuel economy AND stop-go driving in that sentence... Cali, who is so fond of accusing everyone else for talking out of context is doing exactly the same thing here... international-standard stupidity, I believe!
  21. Mr. Nikan's quest to convert Autolanka to international barbie girl standards is really annoying

    1. Californikan

      Californikan

Actually, the vast majority of AutoLanka members are at or above international standards.

    2. Californikan

      Californikan

And by the way, what is "barbie girl standards" to you is called 'civility', something most AL members already practice.

  22. Your TTAC website mentions the following also: No copypaste: Do not copy material from other sources, and do not post them as a comment. Brief quotes, with the source acknowledged, are ok. ... now what original content have you posted in the past??? your international-standard posts have always been copy-paste or downloaded pics The bottom line is, if you are in Autolanka, follow Autolanka standards, not your international barbie-girl standards. If you preach about those international barbie-girl standards, follow them to the book, before preaching.
  23. Don't forget the fact that Opels are German machines
  24. Did anyone hand over the ownership of autolanka to this monkey with a computer??? If not cali, why are u bothered about the standards of autolanka???? its Madz and the mods who need to be bothered about it, not you... and btw what are those international standard car forums that you are a part of???? and correct me if im wrong, in your international standard car forums, random members post pics of vehicles off the net, along with some info from wikipedia, an automotive website or a news site and all the other ponces members go aneeee shoiiiiiiiii.... ela ma kiri machan.... over it!... is that how you and the other barbies maintain international standards?
