  2. One look at that Vios and you get brain cancer so bad, you are almost immediately colorblind The Vios you posted was never discussed in the forum iirc. This one WAS...

  5. No buddy, that's NOT the Vios in question. That's NOTHING compared to this one. I believe this is the one we discussed (and was up for sale in classifieds at one point)
  6. Just voted for MasterDon for the Pericles memorial trophy May you have the strength to carry this tradition for years to come
  7. He knows. He's just testing you :-D
  8. Strange, because I had the exact opposite experience with these brands. I found LG was good, sony and samsung mediocre, and panasonic really pathetic. I am talking about lcd, led tvs. as far as agents go, abans is leagues ahead of softlogic in after sales service
  9. I owned a Proton Impian in the past, It's the European export version of Waja. It's probably the most comfortable car I have owned. It's built on the same platform as Volvo S40. YOM 2000 Waja has the 4G18 engine and the one I owned (YoM 2007) had the Campro engine 1.spare parts availability - No issue with engine spares for 4G18. Campro engine spares are relatively rare. Body parts are available in one or two shops in Delkanda 2.maintanance - Engine maintenance is not difficult. Suspension may give trouble if you use it roughly. 3.resale value - Get it for below 1 million if you can. Then you don't need to worry about resale 4.fuel consumption - Expect around 8km/litre.
  10. "1st Registered On 26-09-1989, 34233Km Done Genuine Mileage"... and I thought I've seen it all!

you do come across cars like that with extreemly low mileage. my uncle had a B310 which had done less than 29,000 since it was bought new in 1983. It was only used to travel to town. Never been outside the hometown.

WOW! I hope he hangs on to that gem for as long as possible! If it were for sale though, let us at the forums know first...

  11. Congrats on your new ride. There's plenty of info on Pugs in A/L. Do post some pictures of your car when you get some time. Cheers.
  12. Check the ATF level also. The same happened to me once and the culprit was a blown ATF hose.
  13. looks like a bandwagon eh? i wonder what would happen if trinity actually recommended buying a jag. just to clarify my post, jags are not bad cars and not cars one should avoid. they are one of the few pleasures a sri lankan car owner can have. but they need to be well looked after. they r not for folks who are worried about maintenance costs, fuel economy and especially availability of cheap counterfeit spares. u need to look for things like service history and ownership history more than anything else. machan nzer, i saw a lancer overheating few days ago. ought to tell Unit#d Mot#rs that lancers are not cars for sri lanka eh?
  14. driver and assistant:-)
  15. Seriously, the mere fact that you are asking the above questions mean that Jags are not for you. Take Trinity's advice. Go for something more mainstream.
  16. Belated birthday wishes, evil moderator.
  17. seriously? that must be one hell of a technology eh? especially if the batteries only feel nice and comfy when the AC is on.
  18. I meant the YoM in the registration book. In many cases, customs auctioned vehicles are without many documents. So the YoM in the registration book will be what the customs officers fancy (or what the buyer and them agree upon). Believe me, I came across an auctioned first-gen Integra with a KN-plate, where the YoM in the book was printed as 1994. Only trouble was the first gen integra ended its production in 88 or 89.
  19. If its a customs auction car, YoM may not be accurate.
  20. All you need is the chassis number and Uncle Google. Just search for the chassis code for STI models
  21. And this one is for all the speed freaks on this thread: http://au.news.yahoo.com/today-tonight/latest/article/-/15572762/slow-witted-fast-driver/ http://au.news.yahoo.com/today-tonight/article/-/13483817/australias-dumbest-hoons/
  22. Disco Cobra.... Classic!

  23. It's just a re-registration of the name of a defunct company. Smart way of making money!
  24. Papers are not an issue if its not dated. You only need one form from MTA-6 for transfer. Go to RMV Narahenpita, go thru the front gate, walk in to the building and you will see the inquiries counter right in front of you. There is a staircase behind this counter. Walk upstairs, turn to your right, walk straight in to the room which says 'Transfer of cars' (or somethign similar). Get a token from the token counter and wait for your turn. When your turn comes, give your papers and they will check and give you a payment voucher. Take the payment voucher and walk back to ground floor. Ask someone where People's Bank is. Go to People's Bank and pay the amount. Get the reciept and walk back to the counter in the first floor and give the receipt to them. Come back in the evening and collect your registration book. Talk ONLY to people wearing grey waistcoats with 'DMT' printed on them. If your Starlet is an English number one, then you have to get CP plates. If it is a WP-301-XXXX or something like that then you don't have to! Those are homemade plates! Hope I made it very clear
