  1. I personally agree that there should be a code of conduct in any internet forum. Just like there are unwritten rules about how one behaves in public. And I do personally agree about all the 6 action points that you have posted. Imho, there should be a 7th item in that list too 7. How do we prevent members from posting irrelevant/misleading content in the forum
  2. Finally managed to check out some Sony phones within my budget at a phone shop. After doing a comparison with Xperia Sola, Xperia Neo L and Xperia U, my mind is more inclined towards the Neo L. It appears to have the biggest screen of the three and doesn't have the boxy shape of the other two. It also runs ICS out of the box. On the downside, the build quality of all Sony phones seem to be rather poor. Would anyone like to comment on the Neo L? Btw I am still open to the idea of getting a Samsung, HTC or a Motorola but didn't get a chance to take a look at them yet.
  3. and when you sell that multipla, consider me to be the first on the waitlist
  4. On the top right corner of this page, there's a search field. These cars have been discussed a gadzillion times so pls use the search function.
  5. Imho, somebody who knows about Liana/Aerio should be checking it. So I too, would suggest the agents. Whatever said and done, I have serious doubts about your car doing 10 on the city. Either you should resort to the fact of living with a figure of around 8 km/l or get some other car
  6. First up, this is how you measure fuel economy: 1. Fill the tank 2. Set the trip meter to zero 3. Run about 200km (or a fair distance to burn a few litres of petrol) 4. Top up the fuel tank and check how many litres were pumped 5. Divide the current trip meter reading by the number of litres that were pumped. I have a feeling you are measuring it wrong. Pls try it this way and see how it is. If you have cleaned the injectors et al once (assuming it was done properly), a second cleaning would hardly improve anything. Also removing the fart cannon will not improve fuel economy by 3km/ltr. Also, more often that not, a bust ABS sensor is a culprit for ABS and brake lights coming on. Some makabasses disconnect/break the sensor wires 'accidentally' when they do repairs. Get the sensor checked.
  7. And u believed it????? With intelligent people like you around, this country can go nowhere but up!
  8. How lucky sri lankan hybrid owners are. All they need is a village baas with a hammer and a spanner to sort out all their problems.
  9. I don't understand one thing here. If there is a break in current from the coil to plugs, did he check the coil pack and the HT leads? The problem could lie there. In fact this is a simple DIY. http://autorepair.about.com/od/troubleshooting/ss/coiltest-manual.htm
  10. Really? is that the reason why u don't want to buy a tesla? Not because of the simple fact that their products are not yet available in sri lanka? or because of the minor fact that even if it was available, the CIF value would be well over $50000 which makes it close to the price of a jaguar xf than that of your average toyota?
  11. machan nikan, i saw a really horrific sight - a prius emitting black smoke. and i thought i should inform you immediately. as the saviour of the environment and chief breather of clean air, could you pls go and save the environment for us?
  12. I don't actually mind a lightly used phone. any good sources for new/lightly used phones?
  13. Oh god... the last person I expected to give phone advice was Sylvi anyway did someone say its possible to get a galaxy S2 for that price (B/New)? Also Sola looks good. aren't HTCs in vogue anymore? I need to buy it from good ol sri lanka. any recommendations for vendors?
  14. Engine used in the Panda is a copy of Fiat FIRE engine. This engine is known for water pump issues.Worst part of it is the pump is driven by the T-belt. So it may be a bit of a b*tch to change. As long as you are covered by warranty, you should be alright.
  15. Apologies in advance if this post spoils the party. Consider me as a hopeless ignoramus when it comes to phones. Could someone pls recommend a phone with the following: 0. Budget - 40,000 max 1. touch screen only 2. android/windows mobile 3. biggest possible screen space within my budget 4. not so worried about the number of cores in the processor 5. good camera so any advices?
  16. Spotted these in the classifieds. Since you mentioned the word 'loan' if you can add a few bucks from hand, you might be able to get these: http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=89782 http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=87727 http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=82848 http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=77574 Also there are buddy vans for less than 2 mill if you are interested in those stuff. For unreg cars going thru a loan, the company will be able to claim VAT, so pls ask the seller to give a VAT invoice and clarify with your company if they are willing to give a loan of 2.5million excluding VAT.
  17. Happy birthday dude.

  19. Have to agree with Harshan. I too never had major issues with Exide. You mentioned that your batteries lasted for 2 years, which is just about the lifetime of an average battery. However, I am curious about the sudden death of one battery. I hope your maintenance work included cleaning the oxide in the terminals. Time and again I have had similar issues, and more often than not, it has been due to the frickin terminals. Also remember one thing. Battery shops will try to SELL you a battery no matter what, even if your problem is caused due to terminals.
  20. You are into experimenting with 'apertures'. Good for you
  21. Two observations: In Sri Lanka, 'compact car' means an 800CC vehicle with 12 inch wheels and less than 2 metres in length In Sri Lanka, 'dependability' means the car will run with the mysterious liquid, which contains urine, cowdung and saltwater for a period of 30 years through all the mud, dirt, dust, grime in humid and scorching weather without any serious issues which part of the above does your article address?
  22. There are two things to consider here. Govt is losing tax revenue because of low imports. On the other hand, govt is holding its FC reserves, which will otherwise deplete if the imports go up. So its a balance between the two. In my opinion, its the latter that is the real issue for the country. Not the loss of tax revenue (which can be overcome by other means).

    Prius Hybrid

Nano driver on a business mission perhaps?
  24. Yes.. in fact the taxes for Montero, Prado, X1, Sex2, 520G (Garandiya Edition) and all the permitmobiles will be made 0% Do u have any idea at all about the country's budget deficit and depleting FC reserves? How does a tax markdown help?
