i made a mistake in my earlier post, the bulb which is in the CS1 dash is the T5 twist lock type (neo wedge). yes u r correct T5, T10 denote the socket types, not the no of SMDs on it. The thing is due to practical problems, the T5 type is coming only with about 1 or 2 SMDs. even the 5 SMD T10 one which i used was too big to be pushed through the hole in the cluster. i had to insert it weirdly from the front side of the board and later fix its pins to the twist lock base.
-
The corners were lit by T5 LEDs (check the pics). They are the standard type for the CS1 cluster. But when u install them, the lighting is very poor. So I installed T10 LEDs just for the main meter modifying them to fit into the T5 socket. They play better since each one of them have about 5 SMDs facing all directions. Didnt go changing the corner ones to T10s. The actual lighting is kinda brighter than whats shown in the earlier pic so i decided to live with that for the time being. T5 LED (Twist Lock) T10 LED

i have a cs1 and i changed the bulbs to leds. check out the pic to see how it looks now. i know its no match for what you want but at least its brighter than the stock. and as siffan said, you need to replace the needles if you want them to be white.

as far as i know, switching the right signal for the incoming traffic at night is to indicate the right most edge of your vehicle to aid making a safe pass. i dont think its needed unless u have your heads in order (or else u have weirdly popped out side mirrors since now we have winkers). but i think switching the right signal to indicate not to overtake is somewhat a good practice. as of what i have experienced, mostly ppl who drive long vehicles or either ppl who have a long driving history tend to do that. it normally followed by a left signal to indicate now its safe to overtake. but i hardly practice this. i feel overtaking or not overtaking is their call, not mine. but i do practice switching on turn signals when i stop at a pedestrian crossing. depending on the side pedestrians are going you can indicate the vehicles in behind not to overtake mine from that side. you dont want to witness a pedestrian being run down by the vehicle coming behind just because you wanted to show some empathy

i think the 2nd thumbnail on that link has the answer but imo thats too cheap to be an 'option'...

yeah jd, every article ive read on the net involved this baking method. but to my surprise, the guy in the garage used a heat gun (something like a hair dryer) when i got this done. not sure of the temperatures machan but at least for me it 'felt' so much safer than putting the headlight inside an oven and keeping the fingers crossed that it wont get cooked. in the former way you can clearly see whats going on around and also can try prying them apart at your leisure to check whether the glue is melted. the guy used the same method to fix them back again and applied another thin coat of adhesive along the edge. btw great write up machan, thanks a lot and keep it up!

Alloy Wheel Repair Kits And Brake Calliper Paints
E L N I N O replied to JadeyBlitzen's topic in General Automotive
yup its in mt lav machan. u dont have to remove the calipers unless u want a superbly fine, flawless paint job. u can turn the tire a bit so the caliper body is more visible and then its easier to sand paper it as well. i painted it in matte black so didnt much cared about masking the surrounding neatly, but if you are spraying any bright colours you will have to take time and carefully do that. -
Alloy Wheel Repair Kits And Brake Calliper Paints
E L N I N O replied to JadeyBlitzen's topic in General Automotive
I also had the same problem with the alloys and I recently went to JJ Lanka to get it buffed. They said its gonna take few hours time so I postponed it for a weekend. No idea of the normal cost because I am getting it done for free since its still within warranty. About brake caliper painting, well any auto paint bas/shop will do it. I did with a TOA can, no big deal. -
straight or not i'd rather pick the highway. btw where can u whiz through busy traffic at 50?
-
yup exactly! think its pretty rare here... over to u machan...

Vehicle Tax To Increase In The Budget ??
E L N I N O replied to sudesh_col's topic in General Automotive
i heard they are getting down fart-o-meter gadgets to inspect farts along with those tint & hid measuring devices. the allowed levels are already on the gazette 1273/29.
