  1. OK I Have no idea abt the prices but there's one reliable garage I found in Horana Road. If you're coming from Panadura bus stand along the Horana road, when you pass CTB bus depot, there's a road to the right named "Kaviraja Mawatha". Just travel for abt 200 mtrs and you will see the "Kaviraja Mawatha 2nd Lane" to your left. Just ride for about 10 mtrs and take the bend - you will find a Garage to your left. (Working hrs 9.30 am to 7.30 p.m)
  2. Usually inside the door upholstery where the window gets in, has some nuts n bolts to keep the stuff connected. What happens is when u take out the window for a repair, these nuts might get lose due to taking out the damaged window and once the new one is replaced the mech may have forgotten to tighten the screws.. This can giv a vibrating noise from the windows. you have to open the replaced window's upholstery and see whether any untightened screws causing this noise.
  3. Thank you for the extensive write up and clarification.. Helps a lot. So the FAN could not be fixed? I meant the electronics part? Have you also come-across the usual knock in GP1? There's a knocking experience when engaging and disengaging of hybrid system. For example, if you drive at a speed of 40 kmph in AV mode, it drives for about 400-500m then once the HV battery drains it switches back to Engine and at this point u experience a knock. On another thread, I saw someone recommending to replace EGV valve which would solve this but I was experiencing this since 20000 millage. So wondering whats wrong. For this there's no check engine light. Check engine would appear also if cylinders (mostly 2 n 3) misfire often (probably due to oil burning issue with some GP1s)
  4. Well well well.... Thanks for sorting out the "JAPAN" clause.. I was even thinking where the hell it came from.. And yes.. it was a Typo for VVTi... the back of the car, clearly displays "VTEC".. To hell wit, how did I even miss Honda is VTEC.. Jeez..
  5. City 2001 is a nice car.. I used one for 3 years. I can tell you my experience only. This Comes in 2 varieties - Japan & Thailand. Japan means usually these are imported from Singapore (This country of import clause only can be seen in 1st owner's book, once u register it, the new book only states its Made in Japan). KA - KD are the most common numbers on Japan mades. Thailand mades are brand new imports, thus go by H-J numbers. This stopped production in 2002 so if you can find a 2002 thats great. This has VVTi gear box and the AUTO gear model does not exceed 10km/pl in city running. Manual model, however, ppl say it does even 16 km/pl (which I doubt). All 4 disk brakes so good braking can be expected. Sometimes breaking has to do a bit harshly to apply. Engine wont give you any trouble if it has been carefully used. Any car that doesn't exceed 100K millage by now is susceptible for Odo reversal so be careful (Check Green certificate and oil change bills for this). If not used Honda gearbox oil, or if gearbox has a problem there can be HUM noises (Whistle like noise) that reduces after 44Kmph speed. Other than that this has suspension problems, caliper worn outs, bush, Rack issues... But a nice to drive car..
  6. The problem with Dual cluth gearbox is it can fail after 40k on odo. Therefore; You should change clutch oil (I think only 1l required n doesnt cost either) near this mileage. Even if you do, thrs still a possibility of getting a defective clutch. N constant aggressive driving cause this as well. U shud not keep on rev up n drive like a its end of the world. It can degrade the life of the box n strand u on road.
  7. Actually it says ur smart key battery is weak. Replace the battery wont cost u more than Rs. 150 for battery. Can do it by yourself as well.
