Help With Making A Decision On Buying 2Nd Hand Vehicle
Harry (aq) replied to gayanW's topic in General Automotive
Simple, Lancer EX or Mazda 3 -
1st of all Congratulations on your purchase. Do not worry about the mileage. Mitsubishi engines are not 150,000km engines. Petrol filter is 29,000 at U...Motors. I checked it about a week ago for my friend The tune-up should cost you about 20K-22K. Just put aside about 55-60K to be on the safe side (for both Tune-up and fuel filter). If I were you, I would do the tune-up, filter replacement and the service with all the filters changed (if required) with U... Motors so that you can start afresh without having much doubts in your mind. The servicing in U... Motors is not expensive as compared to most other Agents of popular brand, It only cost me RS 7000 odd for my Lancer Ex to be serviced (without air filter and fuel filter being replaced). I personally used genuine filters for my car. You can run about 20,000 km with the genuine air filter and the genuine oli filter is changed every other service at U... Motors (ie 10,000km).

One of my friends have bought a 2007 CS3 for 2.4 mil recently. given that I guess 2.3 is very good price. To add to what Trinity said, the price of a timing belt is 40,000 now. I checked for my friend. Engine tuneup will cost around 21k - 23k and the fuel filter is 29,000 wich needs to be replaced at 80,000km. if yours is replaced, no need to worry.

Does anyone have any experiance on the new Bridgestone Ecopia EP200 tyre?

Hi guys, Are there anyone using Roadstone tyres? I am looking for 205/60/16 tyres for my Lance Ex. currently running on GT Radials which are very noicy and stiff on the ride. My tyre guy recomended Nankang but from the comments it looks as if it is as same as GTs. I also heard Maxxis is a 5 ply tyre which is very stiff on the ride. And now I am back to squire one with no preferable brand. What I am looking at is a tyre which is comfortable and will do about 40,000 km. Please be kind enough to share your comments. Thanks

As correctly pointed out by Trinity, most of the Auto trannies of CS2s are imported reconditioned, thus with GDI engines. They are bit more troublesome than the Non GDIs which are imported brand new by the agents. There are few non GDI Auto trannies which were imported brandnew by the Agents but its hard to find. but if you want to check any details of a Car you can simply call the agents and ask for service records. you can get alot of information about the early stage of the car with them (most people maintain with the Agent initially) About selling, I used a CS1 for 3 years and when I wanted to sell it, I sold it with in 2 days of advertising in AL. Its all about quoting the right price. If you are looking for a 500k gain after 2 years from this car, let me tell you this in not the car for that. but with these cars you wont loose money in absolute terms. (In my case I made 200k on absolute terms in 3 years apart from the reliability and the saticefaction of owning and driving the car)

Name The Car You Felt Easiest To Handle
Harry (aq) replied to Uditha88's topic in General Automotive
Agree, handlingwise Lancer Ex is really really good for a front wheel driven car. but there is a huge blindspot in the drivers side A pillar. -
Hi VVTI, if you have a contact number for Noel, could you kindly PM me please..
-
I am attaching the warning lights I am getting when I put the ignition on (before starting). Non of the Picts I checked on internet didnt have this warning light.
-
Thanks VVTi, I did drive it tonight but the warning light didnt come on today. Should take it to the agents if it comes up again.
-
Nice to hear bro... please upload some pics and share your experinace later
-
Nope, Not either of them.
-
Thanks Crosswind. I will drive it myself today and see. I called the Mechanic, He told me the same thing.

Hi Guys, This is regarding my Fiat Punto 2007. Last night my father had noticed the attached warning light appearing when he was driving and asked me what it was, I checked the manual and it did not indicate what this light is. If any one of you know, kindly educate me what this warning light is. Thanks Harry

Why dont you look at Fiat Puntos? Its well with in your budget very good on fuel and good fun to drive.

I faced a similar situation with my old Lancer which had a light tint on front windows. The car was Grey in colour which Navy officers used mostly. When I was stopped I said this was bought from Navy and the tint was the glass not a sticker and I cant help with the situation. Then I was asked to go. That was the onlytime I was stopped for 3.5 years I had the vehicle. The Policeman said that one cannot see the reflection his face when looking through the front windows from outside. That was a hiddious argument since it was near the Tennis Club where the road was shady. IMO Its all personal interpritation even when it comes to Police.
