  1. I hit 120kmph on my boss's Alto on Green Path on the way to work. I pray he's not reading this, but I actually didn't expect such good pulling from a Maruti! Car is very well maintained tho.. BTW, I never again got to drive it.. hmm..
  2. Signal whitening?? How does that help?
  3. Hi! CR41 and CR42 are very hardy vehicles and rarely give trouble. We have a CR41 and it can go almost anywhere. :-) Only thing is C41 comes with a 2C engine which I feel is slightly underpowered and it doesn't deliver the best fuel economy. On average 8kmpl city and 10kmpl out. CR42 comes with a 3C providing better performance and fuel economy. suspension also slightly different so lil more comfy. Still, both models have the tendency to bounce a bit at the back, unlike their predecessor.
  4. Hey! Sorry for pulling this topic up again.. What is this modification you are talking about Mr.Wijesinghe? How do I get it done? and Daredevil, did you go for a 42?
  5. I had a suzuki cultus a few years ago. I took off the wheels one by one and painted em myself. just cleaned the dust off and used a toa can. Gold. came out well. just that you'll notice the dust on it as you drive. Didn't peel off or anything.
  6. Saw this AD in H*T ADS bout some new extension for VIGOs to increase rear passenger space. Anyone knows what this is about or tried it?
  7. This is f**king hilarious! Let me be a silent observer...
  8. I'm freaking pissed with these meaningless laws! And see the explanation they give! Were terrorists dumb enough to think that there were cattle in the vehicles with tinted glasses?? This is so meaningless! With this heat also, 30% tint isn't sufficient. And also, there is a loss of privacy when everyone can look into your car. These morons have got their priorities wrong!
  9. Hi guys! Lemme tell you a lil story. I had this habit of not stopping when cops signal me down for speeding or crossing lines. If the road is clear, I usually fly off. Not that I commit these offenses often but it's just that even at these rare occasions, I dont feel like bowing down to em! Anyways, 2 weeks ago I went on a long long trip.. puttalam, the new mannar road, wilpattu, anuradhapura, madur oya, polonnaruwa, habarana.. 700kms in 2 days. :-) Tell you bout it later wilu.. On the puttlam road, there was a huge huge traffic block past marawila coz of some politician there who had won. the road was pretty much one way and the cops were not doing anything. with the greatest difficulty, I got thru that stretch, thanks to my headlights and horn and tactful driving! A few kilometers away, I start seeing cops every few 100m with speed guns and vehicles were signaling me to slow down. I avoided a few but then this one place, the cop signaled me. I slowed a bit and then fly off. Barely a kilometer did I pass, but I see a cop on a bike following me with his heads on. I freaked out a moment. then stopped. My dad made up a story bout my sis being sick and it urgent. the cop said the OIC was at the check point and that is why he had to follow. anyway, we turned and went back. because of my dad, I was saved a lecture. and also a court case! but I did have to pay a Rs.1000 fine for not stopping. paid it n went. My speed... 79KMpH! on the freaking puttalam rd wher you cud do 100+ and not feel a thing. good wide road. safe to drive. nothing close to reckless driving. I made a big mistake there by not stopping and if I had stopped, I doubt I'd be fines anything. Still, this is the situation today... CheerZZz
  10. guys, does anyone know the procedure to get a body permit? curious to know!
  11. W T F
  12. Could someone PLEASE get us a number that works? Viraj's phone is switched off!
  13. Ahh plastic melted ne.. Didnt notice that.. Well a good painter could sand it, level it, and paint it on a good coat of primer and it should look original for a long time!
  14. This is Sri Lanka bro!

    Assemble Vehicles

So you've seen em too I used to wonder whose vehicles these were! I wouldnt mind going for a vehicle like this as long it can be registered and the price is significantly different. They should be as good as the originals.
  16. Ford Fiesta?
  17. Really?? Must check it out. I bet it is atleast Rs.1Mn! :-)
  18. that looks pretty bad! but the good news is, like outlander said, a good paint job should make it look as good as new. no big scene.

    Assemble Vehicles

I think I've seen these vehicles.. I hope this isnt against the forum rules but, are the plates WP G 0880 or WP G 0800 or something to that tune? I've seen surfs, corollas, starlet, a van.. lotta vehicles. especially surfs. Are these really legal?
  20. Bloody hell guys! Look at where this topic went: From automobile accidents to language "accidents"!! :-) LOL Interesting!
  21. I've never crashed a car! I'm THAT good! :-) but us cousins were raching one day and my cuz, who was driving one car, crashed into a van. Ended up spending almost 50000 on both as the car didnt have documents nor insurance.. Learnt a good lesson there. Btw, I got this awesomely talented relative who flipped his Noah up-side down (God knows how!) about 3 years ago. Even he doesnt know what happened! And then just 2 months ago, he crashed his brothers Prado on a Police barrier and swung around to total a buddy truck coming on the opposite track and send it's driver to the hospital with a broken leg. Spent the night at the police and now reports to the cops every 2 weeks or so! :-) bloody hell of an experienced guy!
  22. CR41 came up to 1998 and CR42 1998 onwards.. I got a CR42 1998 which is pretty much a CR41 in every aspect. There is no issue I have heard of nor experienced with the 2C engine except that the van feels a little under powered. Maybe that is why toyota went for the 3c in 42. Good and hardy vehicles. ride is slightly bumpier than its predecessors using "leaf spring" suspension yet, its a good ride.
  23. Interesting.... They dont seem to have any mini's in the ports, do they? :-)
  24. Hey everyone! Been sometime ne! Last weekend, a cuz of mine (also looking for a mini) found this place at Kurunegala where there'z this guy who "joins" pretty much anything! :-) he had 2 lovely tiptronic Minis for 700k. both were already sold. When my cuz visited, the guy had been "pasting on" parts on 2 Town Ace Noahs and a Merc! :-) the guy had been kinda suspicious but eased out. Workmanship was excellent I heard! :-) But still, I'm taking you guys advice and not touching those stuff... To risky. Cant afford to have it impounded, nor spend time in jail!! But then again, I wouldnt mind a Merc... :-) hehe
  25. Since you arnt doing that much driving, I think a 320d would be nice. Its a classy car. maintainence wise, the subaru would certainly be cheaper to run. The subaru will give you power but you'll have a lotta trouble selling it. If I had that budget too, I'd have probs choosing too! dont go for Allions or Premio. Nice comfy cars but why be average ne? ;-) But thinking again, If I had the cash, I'd go for the Subaru!! Ahhh.. ok.. I'm confused n I'm confusin u. u decide. :-)
