Kenwood or Pioneer. If you can Alpine, but I dont think anyone sells it here??? Not sure that Caska would be any good! P*tco would be better than Adv*nce in terms of getting it installed. They do a much better job. -

I'd avoid Advance at all costs they are very shabby & careless. I'm still regretting going there to get my installation done. They will also try to convince you that what you have isn't good & try to get you to replace something. Pet#o might be better & Gilbert, though I have never visited them have had way better reviews & people say that they are underrated.

Isn't that a risky operation using brake oil? Getting it onto your paint work will seriously mess things up.

No I havent changed the blades. will try that next, thanks. But what I did do was wash the windscreen & I also tried physically scrubbing it with a sponge, along with washing the blades. So i thought that would actually take the oil off?

Hi All, I have a oily film on my windscreen that I cant seem to get rid of. Any thoughts? I have tried different wash liquids through the windscreen washer as well as direct application, glass cleaner, etc. Nothing seems to work. My wiper blades don't appear to be bad, as they do clear off the water. Any thoughts?

I think Car Care is really good in Wellawatte. They are very thorough. Getting a appointment is quite hard though since they are a small place but get loads of vehicles.

Ya stay away from Adv@nce they really mess things up. Known for breaking clips, not fitting beading's properly. Just a really shabby job overall though they brag about everything.

Hi Muditha, thanks for the feedback I wouldn't mind buying the genuine stuff do you know from where I can get them? Ya I heard that Bosch & Phillips are the way to go, though I havent seen them anywhere.

Searching on the net most say that 6000K is the way to go as higher the kelvin makes it harder to see through fog & rain. Has anyone ordered replacement bulbs off Ebay? Just wanted to know if they arrived in one piece or has the postal dept. improved? And more importantly was there duty?

Thanks for the comments & advice guys Yes 5am is from colombo, & here's hoping that I avoid most of the traffic. Hopefully i wont have to deal with too many large vehicles & those very annoying 3 & 2 wheelers . And will definitely keep a look out for animals too, even the two legged morons who suddenly decide to cross the road!!!!

Thanks for that Sifaan, when you say bad pacthes & taking it slow, what would the average speed limit be on that stretch? And how long did it take for you to get there? I am planning on leaving at about 5:00am
