  1. They open only in Saturday weekends I guess and Saturdays are totally busy with a lot of cars better go early in the morning...
  2. A few years back I used to go to MJR Peris which was just opposite the Indra Traders Mahayyawa. They did a pretty good job.
  3. CJ5 is perfectly correct. These things should have been monitored One of my friend bought a set of Japanese Dunlop tires, but it didn't last for 20000km as he hasn't done any wheel alignments
  4. Currently using Yokohama A Drive Indonisian made. Done 25000+ kms, still looks GREAT looks like nothing worn out. Bought from Unit#d Mot#rs they said it will last until 50000+ kms. Costs me 9000+ LKR with the special discount for 185/60 R14
  5. It seems same noise starting to hear slightly again after running 500-600kms, and there is tappet noise as well if accelerated suddenly. Even when you go 4th gear around 50kmph and suddenly accelerated you can hear "taka taka taka" noise. The noise is not going away while you keep accelerating, It goes away when you release the accelerate and again press again slowly.
  6. Some mechanics says it is ok to use 15W-40 engine oil for the manual gear boxes as well. Any idea regarding this?
  7. That U shaped mount is also not in good condition in mine as well, but I checked a few weeks ago in Teck they told me around 2800 as I remember but it is Malaysian or thailand I dont remember exactly. They didnt have genuine or any Japanese one But is there a point of replacing such rubber things like mounts with Thailand or Malaysian ones? Will it last long?
  8. Issue fixed. It was due to the too tightened T-Belt. H.C you mean Rohan? Hmmm regarding the Thermostat Value, most of the mechanics not saying that is a must to have machan. I have asked from several mechanics before removing my one due to a blockage in the value. But personally I would like to have it replace it rather removing. But still I couldn't go to teck to buy a new one after removing the old one a few months back.
  9. Yeah personally agree with you and I was a person exactly thinking like you sometimes back. But you know creature called woman has no idea what is called T-Belt, Piston and values. So no point of explaining them to those.... Anyway couldn't do anything these days as I was not well, going tomorrow to see Rohan Kesbewa.... Will see what he finds out....
  10. You mean the left side front mount? U shaped mount? Where did you buy the new one geniune or thailand and the cost?
  11. Weekend I went down to Matale and came back now the noise has become very annoying, now it has all the time.
  12. Hmmm but they said it is nothing to do with the T-Belt by removing everything out ne.
  13. Don do you know such a mechanic? Now I have fade up with these both mechanics I was used to go.
  14. I dont see any over heating. And there is no coolant leak as well. And where did you get the repair done?
  15. Actually It is like this. I replaced the T-Belt at Kesbewa some times ago. At that time mechanic said no need to replace oil seals as there are no leaks and they looking good. I asked him several times but the answer is no need. So after the T-belt & tensioner only replacement I ran around 20k kms and noted a oil leak T-Belt side. So this time I thought not to go to the previous mechanic. I usually go for another mechanic near to my working place as going Kesbewa is not easy every-time. So went there this time and removed T-Belt cover to identify oil leaks, but actually two oil seals were again good no leaks from them. So he suspect the leak from oil pump. So removed it and replaced the seals. But once we removed tje T-Belt cover noted that T belt was too loosy and can be removing without loosing the tensioner as well, further noted that no labels are visible and belt is shinning a lot. So he sugests me it is not good to run like this and better replace the T-Belt coz he thought it was not an genuine one. So this time replaced T-Belt and both oil seals, but not the tensioner as it was replaced last time and working ok as per the mechanic. So I have no idea if the tensioners is genuine.
  16. A few years back my radiator top tank was got cracked. Then replaced it with a Malaysian made plastic top tank. Ran around 25000kms without any problems. Then one day engine over heated due to small leak near thermostat vale and bad radiator cap. Radiator cap didn't allowed to move extra tank water into radiator. So I ran until radiator got empty while extra tank is full with water. After the heating thing again I noted that water is leaking near the joint of plastic top tank and aluminium core. Then took to the same place. He removed the top tank again and cleaned then fixed with some glue. (Dont know what that is). But now running another 25000kms with out any issues.... Best thing is replaced the plastic top tank it is the cost effective and maintainable method.
  17. Hi, This is become real headache now. It was just only 2 weeks after replacing the T-Belt and Seals. Now a few days back I noticed a some unusual sound (chiki chiki) just like a belt touching with some metal part at around 2000 rpm. IN higher RPMs it rarely here due to the noise of the engine. So I again took the car to the garage. They removed everything just like two week ago replacing T-Belt. But nothing was wrong. Then re fixed everything. But the sound is same. The only their guess is water pump. But they said no need to replace it now as it is looking good. (I dont know how to say it is good by looking it at) SO I had to returned with the same sound. Need your expert idea will a water pump caused to make such a noise? Thanks,
  18. I have changed the gear box oil too.. but that sound is still there... and that sound comes for reverse gear as well.
  19. I'm having same issue. That sounds comes even I release the clutch very slowly cant avoid it.
  20. Hi All, Today morning while driving on the parliament road towards Colombo suddenly I heard that radio was going off and noted that meter panel lights on and next second turned them off and again radio was back to normal. This happened very quickly car was going in 1st and 2nd gears very slowly. Above scenario happened 4 times. with in 5 minutes duration then everything back to normal. There was a loose connection in terminals a few months back and it was tightened by keeping aluminum (I have doubts if aluminum is good for it) And another thing I noticed with in last month while car was moving around 60-70kmph suddenly speedo meter indicator came to 0 position and back to normal. Any ideas above strange behaviors? Many Thanks.
  21. I dont think you can get contacts from evergreen, he has not logged in since Oct 14 2011 03:43 PM
  22. But Don, getting empty the extra tank in 4-5 days is a question isn't it? That should not happen right?
  23. Thanks for the detailed explanation, But the issue is most of the mechanics has no patience to perform the method of elimination as you mentioned. They asking me to replace the distributor first. Thats how they perform elimination. Where do you repair you car? Do you have any good mechanic for me to recommend? If so can you please PM me?
  24. Hi Guys, Still water in radiator extra tank is reducing. There was water leaks in two places. One was joint between core and top tank other was hose near the thermostat value. For the first one I re fixed the top tank by cleaning the tank. And for second one removed the hose and fixed again with some glue. Now both leaks are gone. Further I removed the thermostat value also it was not working correctly. But still water in extra tank become empty in 4-5 days. Now engine heat is not increasing. I have replaced the cap also a month ago. I drove the car around 60km with maintaining speed 60-70kmph, but engine heat is stable. Any idea why water is reducing? Can be a gasket leak? But engine heat is stable. There is an engine jerk also in lower rpms. In higher rpms it is not noticeable.
  25. Hmmm there is a jerk in low rpms Don. My normal mechanic suspects it is Distributor, he tried to find a one to replace the distributor and see, but he was unable to find a matching one. My car is 96 ferio. It has 7 wires flat plug in the distributor. I need to have a check on it coz I had issues after I replaced the distributor oil seal a year back. How ever it is adjusted there is a ignition sound even in 1st gear and I feel torque is also not reasonable.
