does anyone who what happened to this monster? also since recently I'v been seen quiet a few 1st gen Cayennes on our streets.

you should change the cabin filter every 10,000km or when ever you are changing your air filter. In fact its advised to be changed at 10,000km even in Japan, so ideally we should do it sooner If you don't want to breath all the dust from our street I recommend you change it. also if you can't afford the genuine cabin filter go for a VIC or even Sakura!

try L*gacy Motors in braybrook place... they got Biolight bulbs.... thats what I got! its every difficult to find H8/H11 cos they mostly come with Korean parts, so you need to put Korean bulbs which are cheap but equals Japanese bulb quality.

Well the X1, a first sight is deff not the best car, but one that grows on the owner... Been using it as a daily driver for the past 4 months as it has been an absolutely brilliant car, and no, its not a hatchback, its a soft road SUV which has a better ground clearance (not approach angle) than a Kia Sorento. Recently went to Jaffna and along the Poonaryn Kilinochchi dirt track and was absolutely amazing in semi-offroad conditions, came out without a single scratch on the front lip. Also when it comes to performance and fuel economy very few cars in the market are able to complete with it. When I first got the car, I was regretting buying it cos of the lack of options, but that too is not bothering me any more, to be honest I don't need rain sensor wipers, automatic lights or reverse cameras with chinese multimedia head units that you get with jap cars. This is personal taste, but I don't find anything that is ugly in this car, to be honest its the perfect all round, daily runner I could think of for the price that is offered for the permit holders.

Only reason we buy Hybrids is because to the tax, its more affordable than a similar petrol alternative... however if diesels are at the same level of tax will we even think about hybrids. If you check the VW diesel engines they are so much more eco friendly, efficient, and more reliable than the Hydrids. However sports car designers like Ferrari and Porsche are using already proven Hybrid technology into further increasing performance, but don't think give monkeys about the enviroment.

It might be, but even if it was, would rather go for X6... but to be honest they both are ugly to my eyes.

Even I thought that, but recently went to see the new X1 and the 320d brought for the permit, and seen them right next to each the X1 was looking much prettier.. but its only slightly higher off the ground than the 320d. Also from the rear the X1 deff looks good. newer been a fan of the BMW 3 series tail lamps except for the coupes... Best looking out of the lot is the petrol A4 in white... thats a head turner!

so Porsche to drive and own, Ferrari to look at and admire... someone having both its like the whole package!

the brand new 318i is 10+ million, and the one given for the permit (320d) is 5.5 million. the diesel without an agument is a better car than its petrol simblings. so say your willing to pay another 1 million to retrofitlike 8.8"idrive with a new dashboard + front and rear PDC + Rear view camera, cruise cotrol (we got highways coming up),rain + light sensors, geniune HID xenon lights, and more... so for 6.5 million you can have a brand new loaded BMW 320d!

But if the potential buyer is not to be thinking about the resale value, there are other serious off roaders for that price, which includes the fully loaded (Incl; all exclusive options)Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid (more economical than a Diesel), Decent spec'd Range Rover, HSE Range Rover Sport, and Merc GL Class. You can also add the BMW X5/X6 and the Audi Q7, but they are not at all off roaders, more like vans with AWD... but then again you really have to have balls to take a Rs.30+ million SUV off road!

If I were you, would go for a Patrol version like Malla said, cos you get it fully loaded and a newer model, and more importantly its more than 12 million less which could be invested in the Stock market or put as a FD in a bank then pay for patrol and maintenance through the interest rate. and cum resale time you will be +12million!

you can't get down a disco for that permit. but if you get hold of a $50,000 permit you can import a LR Disco 4!

Don't know why you are even considering the Montero, cos its in a completely different class. Even the Disco 4 is to be compared with the Prado! and Land Cruiser 200 would complete with the Range Rover! Any way when it comes to everything the Land Cruiser 200 is well ahead of the Disco, I mean in built quality, ride comfort (air suspension version), off road capability, space, and more importantly suitability to SL. Discos are extremely unreliable! about the resale value; if you are getting a diesel I assume its over 30 million (unless its for a permit) so don't think its going to matter too much cos you can afford it...

what ever people say about the Panamera's looks, it is in my opinion the most classy four door sedan in Sri Lanka, if not the world.

Absoulutly Ferrari are far more superior to Porcshe when it comes to racing, Enzo Ferrari was only interested in winning races and not selling cars to Celebrities...

I'm not undermining brilliance of a ferrari... but Porsche has a longer history when it comes to cars... check Ferdinand Porsche the founder of Porsche he built the first hybrid probably when Enzo Ferrari was still peeing in his pants... he built the VW beetle, and many other things... Porsche has always been about innovation, they are more into designing things than making it them selfs... your right they use things from other manufacturers, but they actually make it even better...
