  1. This was a treat! Thanks for sharing bro!
  2. Finding projector light housing might be a tough thing if a general google search doesn't show you anything for your vehicle. There are a lot of arguments on the web and here in AL before about this. I will not worry about the arguments too much if I were you. I think it's a adjustment thing and you'll be fine after that.
  3. Guys, so far the sickest driving I've come across is this - For me it's more fun than drags Have you guys come across similar or better driving? Movies excluded

Machang, I can't imagine a better way to spend that extra 500k. Especially considering the comfort levels and luxuries those projector lights bring to your ride. How can you even see properly at night without those projector headlights?! And oh the shell! Don't even start. 500k is a bargain. And boy, Yaeeesh! Those lights! ... AND the shell!
  5. Absolutely no tint on front windows. Can go as dark as u want on all others. If you're related to a minister or knows higher ups, then you're excluded from this law that applies to all Sri Lankan citizens. I see more than a handful of vehicles with dark tints on front windows every single day during my daily commute.
  6. Reminds me of a joker that was trying to sell his 121 for 4mil, arguing that 121 is a better car than a brand new 141. When did SL started to be like the Indians?!
  7. If it's below the minimum level get it checked out because you might have a leak somewhere. I think if you don't know what type of oiled used previously, best thing is to flush it and refill. And don't drive without power steering oil since there's a good chance it'll damage the power steering motor.
  8. Funniest part is this bloke thinks it's not enough. Sigh.
  9. My experience with Tom Tom is not very nice. Ended up in no man's land about half a dozen times while trying to find some food joints. May be it needed a firmware upgrade or my food tastes should've been more modest. Was too lazy to check whether Toma needed a firmware upgrade. Not here though.
  10. And here I was thinking world hunger was a bigger problem
  11. Awesome bumper sticker of the day - Beer: Now Cheaper Than Gasoline. So Don't Drive ... Drink.

  12. Resale not as much mentality Peri. I think the atrocious figures for a 10 year old Toyota comes partly from it's reliability and the ability to get it fixed like getting a tea bunnis with a plain tea. It'll be really interesting to see how and what'll happen over the next few years with more and more Hybrids cleaning the environment around Colombo and suburbs! Maintaining the image ... that's a very small percentage ne machang.
  13. Twice! Gawd.
  14. OMFG! Speaking of the devil - http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=43321
  15. What in the world is a TATA Indika?! I'm sure it's one of a kind!

  16. Yes! Hope is on the way. There's are reasons no straight guy should drive one, ever. Unless you like random dudes hitting on you. Hope is on the way for getting rid of this queer piece of road hogger. It's gonna be legen ... wait for it ... dairy! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1351341/Relief-pumps-Revolutionary-hydrogen-fuel-cost-just-90p-GALLON-run-existing-cars.html
  17. Wish you a very happy birthday! Have a good one!
  18. Very nice car. A close relation used one for many years, on company petrol though Once it was sold, that bugger had to replace the engine mounts and he couldn't find those here. And for importing from Singapore, cost seems to be around Rs. 90k. So I've been told, not sure whether it's accurate. I've driven this car and liked the comfort and handling. I was actually looking for one a few months ago but failed to find one in decent condition.
  19. And look at that interior or should I say, the bar! Thanks hyacc for the link!
  20. Encore! Of course machang! I think it's because of you guys (hard core enthusiasts) that this forum is alive and has become the vibrant community it is now. I was just making a point to the average joe who's going to get his very first ride machang.
  21. I initially wanted to get a Euro or a Subaru and my dad vehemently protested for getting one. This was mainly due to he saying it's near impossible to resell the car. If you stop and think about it for 5 minutes it makes a lot of sense. When an average Sri Lankan guy, getting a lease/loan and buying a car and you're a bit tight on cash, resale value and how easy to sell your car plays a major role. Also, in the current economic situation here you'll never know when you'll be needing a considerable chunk of money. It's pretty clear to anyone reading the forum recently, that everyone jumps on how hip to drive a car that's having superior engineering and is different from owning just another boring Toyota. And couple of myth busters regarding Euros are hard to maintain, resell etc.. etc.. With recent experience from VVTi, it's quite evident that it's indeed very hard to resell a Euro. Fact. Also, for you guys before you saying I was flat broke when I bought my BMW, please bear with me until I finish my argument So, for an average bloke after a lease/loan if he doesn't have 5 - 10 lakhs of liquid cash lying around (pick your numbers here) and still want to get a Subaru 'cos it's fast and cool, that decision, according to my perception is just stupid. Owning a car that's easy to sell becomes a huge advantage in this case. I know many of you will jump at me saying you just resold your Subaru in a blink of an eye, I'm not talking about you guys here. I'm more or less talking about an average joe who's not very conversant with cars just getting one 'cos it's really hip and honk pass an Axio in a heart beat. When it comes to get a new set of seventeen inch low pro tyres ... man, it's worth it 'cos it look sexy right? Think twice and be smart. What I wanted to highlight is that no matter what kind of investment you do, you have to be smart about it. Assess your situation and make the right choice. Again, I'm not talking about people with diga Prados and cool STIs. Guys, by all means! Don't endup in stingy financial situations and wish all that torque should go up your nether.
  22. Wonder how many mineral water drinking chicks this would accommodate
  23. I get the drift machang. Did not know that hybrids should be handled in a special manner when met with an accident. Thanks for the details.
  24. This is just spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). "The EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) rate the Prius as among the cleanest vehicles sold in the United States based on smog forming and toxic emissions" - https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Toyota_Prius. There's plenty of authoritative info suggesting the environment friendliness of the Prius. Factual evidence contradict with your arguments. In future electronic gadget usage per capita will only increase. Look at how many folks are showing off their iPads on coffee shops here.
