  3. At least say 'nice try' or 'close'...this just makes me feel stupid cos I can't recognise random spare parts... Lol
  4. Lol Don't know if the engineers at Toyota are as stupid as you imply!
  5. Nissan Vanette? Mazda Bongo? Toyota Corolla Station Wagon?
  6. Is it a Kia Sportage?
  7. Hmmm....looks like a light. From some kind of car. What did I win??
  8. Please post pics when you're done. Lookin forward to seeing them in.
  9. As the value of metal goes up, obviously prices of vehicles go up and you should know that Toyota Carina uses particularly valuable metals (which is why Toyota is the BEST car brand in the whole wide world) which appreciate in value as time passes such as adamantium. Also, as your thread title suggests, these adamantium cars are influenced heavily by the black market. Just ask Wolverine.
  10. A lot of mechanics say tiptronic boxes are not reparable but I think this is more the case that they don't know how to do it. There is nothing inherently wrong with them, but you may possibly find that some buyers like vehicles without the frills to keep down future repair costs which could affect your resale. Just a thought. 4WD is unnecessary, however I see a fair few Monteros, Vitaras etc. in Yala, so if you are considering the vehicle for multiple purposes, then it would be useful. If you have the cash, I'd say go for it, better you have it and don't need it than you wished you had it when you need it I say. Colour? I assume you're asking that because you want to know about resale, well look at the common colours on the road and you'll get your answer. Personally I think you should go for yellow and wear some kind of banana suit when you use the vehicle. I say this because we need to look at future demand and as everyone knows, fruit themes are definitely the way forward (as you would already have noticed with Apple and Blackberry - both successful fruits). The next fruit is going to be banana, you need to get in on it early. Shintaro. Always helpful. Always shintaro.
  11. Well the acceleration has been great, It could easily top my old Wingroad in that dept. I did a run up through hilly terrain with 3 people (2 large, 1 medium), a full luggage area and more camera gear and baggage on the rear seat and overtaking wasn't a problem at all. The 1000CC has much less power, but can manage, I couldn't take all the noise it made though, so annoying. As I got the car, I was on baseline road and I got to that hill (coming back from wattala on the way to Borella junction, you know it right?), well I was at 40Kmph at the bottom and accelerated to 3500RPM and was at 100 when I got to the top. The differences are mostly cosmetic, but there are some versions with mechanical mods, for example mine has TRD suspension, but there are others with TRD exhaust, some have tiptronic and throttle sensitivity controls. The non-JDM (Yaris hatchback) has a turbo in the RS version.
  12. I agree, it's a good car. Had the use of one for a few months, very comfortable, spacious and had excellent acceleration. You could also consider a cefiro for spaciousness or a camry. Not sure how much these are going for these days.
  13. I love your posts dude! You just write anything, it's awesome! The 1000cc vitz can climb hills, so can the belta. I drove a 1000cc vitz and found it loud, noisy and inefficent, my friend has the same experience and gets 8km/l. I have a 1300 vitz RS now and it gets a bit noisy only after 3500 revs/min but it ain't that bad and the car is very efficient on fuel. Nippy too, almost comparable to my 1600 Sunny.
  14. Just love Mondays...

  16. Hey Jami!! Love your posts bro, I'm a big fan. You need to renew it before it expires. Its like asking 'how far after the expiry date can I drink that milk?' There's a Rs200 fine for expired renewals. Ok, now your turn!
  17. If you give it a little push, does it retract and then continue the whirring sound?
  18. Hehe what do you mean 'dull'?? There are people calling Cynoses 'sports cars'! its a laugh a minute up in here! @OP: dude, buy a Cynos, it looks aiight and they are economical to run, according to my friend who had one. Or you can buy an FB14 and become a drone.
  19. I know it can't be, but doesn't the tail light look like it comes from a Mercedes?
  20. Chrysler Cruiser?
  21. Escudo!
  22. Did the seller have glossy eyes and suffer from severe itching and ashy skin 'cos judging by the price he's asking he may be on crack. Tell your friend he can buy an N16 Auto for 1-2 lakhs more!
  23. I demand a clue!

    Corosion

Sounds like a good price to me and do it now cos it'll only get worse. Plus kudos on the depth of field on the corrosion shot.
