macho, i would say stick to a car which cost around 1 - 1.3 Mn and easily marketable ..like AE100,FB14, eg8..try to find a well maintained one or else identify the defects before buying..even if you say its well maintained it might give some troubles as it is more than 18 years old...while fixing the issues you will get to know the in and out of the car and the mechanics around us...then go for the car you desired at whatever price.. or else you will be one of the persons who is hogging middle of the road with his priuss.. -

are u referring Morgan Engineering???....if that so....i would say they are getting more and more unprofessional...they wanted 5k to fix and paint my two door handles..i didnt agree and got it fixed for 1200..but they messed up with the lock..and couldnt fix with their workers..got it fixed in place at McCallum road for just 300 Rs..and painted it for 1000...pretty neat job though ... but they were cheap at once..when i fixed my bruised buffer for rs.1000 but it was nearly year ago

is it happening when u go downhill??...if so..i think its normal coz im having the same car with properly working thermostat...when i go downhill the needle in the heat gauge goes very low than the operating temp. ..even when i was having overheating issue due to a blocked radiator..but if ur car doesnt have thermostat better to fix one..doesnt cost much...i can remember i bought a one from agent for Rs.3500 recently and fixing it is not a huge deal ..my mech done it for free..- 17 replies

no macho..when i told cleaned radiator..it was done without removing the radiator...the experts directed by mech have flushed the radiator with some chemicals without even remove the radiator...last week i removed and cleaned the radiator with the help of my friend using only tap water...it had some serious blocks in some fins..but couldn't remove all the blocks..and now the car is not overheating...very next day drove to kandy...only took 1.5 hrs (very early in the morning on new year and redlined few times)...the gauge stayed below the half way through out the way...

no overflowing or air bubbles in the radiator even the small amount of water is disappearing from radiator and reservoir tank

im having the same issue...when i go around 120kmph for 1km or so..the katta shooting up to 3/4 of the meter.. chekced all the things..replaced thermostat.. new fan..cleaned radiator..but.. last suggestion i got frm my mech is fixinga a big radiator.. yes hondas having comparatively small radiator...but will it work??

not only the bulb bro...you would burn the holders coz of the heat generated by the high watts bulbs..try to fix a reliable holder with relay ..Motorcade sells an entire hella branded set for 3k with out bulbs..

since its 1992 at192 i assume its a 19- car...13.5 is very high price if it is a 19- car..and fuel consumption ..even though the AT192 and AE100 shares the same engine 5AFE..carina is bit heavier car than ae100 so i doubt u can get 10kmpl with ac in city driving.. get some thing like this http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=71970 its a sprinter little below the corrola market..

i hope you are meaning check engine light..at least that guy let the check engine light on ..there are people who turn OFF the check engine light even there is a notification to check engine.. well for problems....could be related to sensors..did u notice any miss in engine..rpm drops when accelerating? and try to do a green test and get the results...coz its a 20 year old 5AFE motor so at least a slight sludge is obvious if u dont feel any miss and rpm drops there is a possibility the engine has been changed and ecu has not mapped with new engine so make sure to cross check the engine no with the docs

im also getting a rattling like noise (bit like kara kara noise) when im accelerating.. not all the time but if i drove the car for more than 100km at a stretch or during hot whether. other time its normal(morning and night drives) experts pls help..
