  1. And also agent recommend to change ATF at 75K along with Major service. Not sure they asked you to do it at 60K since its a petrol version.
  2. hi Kira, Im using a Kia Sorento 2014 model and my current mileage is 50K. I too checked with Kia sometime back and they quoted approx 75 - 80K for the Full Major Service which is including all regular servicing + transmission oil change. I know this is still to the high side. If you dont want to go through the Agents, there is a place close to Pannipitiya who does Kia , LR , Ssangyong etc. Prices would be 25 - 30 K cheaper than agents.
  3. Yes, you are correct. It was the Y10 model.
  4. Wingroad Y11 diesel was a solid car with CD20 engine. Used it for more than 5 years. Didn't had any major issues apart from usual servicing.
  5. Adv@#$e C@R Diag in Pannipitiya Malabe road. I think they now even bring down 3008 / 5008. Used to service our old Rexton with them. Now they are giving more focus on Land Rover / Kia and Pugs.
  6. Hi Dilan, I installed this module more than 4 years back. so original purchase link does not work now. And there are lot of new Bird eye systems in the market. The newest models are capable of displaying a similar 3D experience to New BMW systems. Also another thing to note is that, it may take close to 5 or 6 hours to properly install this system depending your vehicle. so if you purchase this from online, lot of audio shops will quote a very high price for installation.
  7. Just searched for the 1 and only silvia .... Indeed it was a sunny
  8. You should get a fairly decent image at night with the reverse camera. I too have a cheap chinese cam with moving guide lines. It outputs a good image at night.
  9. Highly doubt you will be able to get a decent projector for 15K. Even cheapest decent LED projectors are 200 USD upwards.
  10. ELM 321 v2.1 has some compatibility issues. V1.5 works fine. Most sellers on Al*Ex advertise this note now.
  11. nice car bro
  12. Kia service is generally good. but at one instance i found out that the Air filter was not replaced during the full service even though they have charged for it. I happen to check the filter by one of my friends comment on the same and whola! It was indeed a warn out and dirty filter just 3 days after service. Kia did not had any explanation as to how this happened and immediately replaced with a new filter. (But they do keep an old filter in the boot to prove the filter has been replaced). After this incident, i insist and go check filter change even though they generally dont allow customers to go inside the servicing area.
  13. I have used dash cams for more than 6 years now and all are with Lithium batts. Also park under direct sun. Never had a problem. If its from a quality supplier, i assume they do test for hot climates and conditions.
  14. its not a reverse camera. The back camera to be fitted in the back windscreen. Even inside the vehicle will be fine. Both cameras record simultaneously.
  15. I am using below item. Not everyone's cup of tea. But it has lot of features. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/6-86-inch-4G-Car-DVR-ADAS-Dash-Cam-Bluetooth-WIFI-GPS-Android-5-0-Dual/32828888451.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.411.650f3c00NIuQKy If you need something less visible, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Azdome-GS63H-Dual-Lens-Built-in-GPS-WiFi-FHD-1080P-Front-VGA-Rear-Camera-Car-DVR/32854013341.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.168.454d10baLpTCGu&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10152_10151_10065_10344_5723115_10068_5722815_10342_10343_10340_5722915_10341_5722615_10696_10084_10083_10618_10307_5722715_10059_100031_10103_10624_10623_10622_5722515_10621_10620-5723115,searchweb201603_50,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=85eee7cb-1013-4519-9b90-05db86dae46c-23&algo_pvid=85eee7cb-1013-4519-9b90-05db86dae46c&priceBeautifyAB=0
  16. You might also consider a option with a back camera. Having a cam record from the back also helps a lot.
  17. Ask for a copy of that CCTV footage asap. You never know, it may even get erased or did not record at all during the accident.
  18. you mentioned another vehicle was hit. So that person did not log a complaint with you? or does he has a dash cam ?
  19. To answer the original question. being driven in both cars (Pickme) ld gladly put my money on a Wagon R. More space to move around, comparatively less shakiness. To be honest with you, felt indian Alto Lxi is more roomier and comfier than Japanese Alto.
  20. Totally agree. When i put my Ford Mondeo for sale (which is considered to be a nightmare to sell and which i purchased against the warnings from everyone) i got a confirmed buyer which offerd me more than 2+ laks of my initial purchase price. Funny thing is even after i took an advance from him, 2 other genuine buyers was offering me 1lak more than the confirmed buyers to get the car. Sold the car to the original offer. The car being advertised ted below market price and being the full spec Giha model add to it. Bottom line is, if its a genuine car you will be able to sell it.
  21. Well ...haven't we all spoiled by the new features up to certain extent? Gone are the good old days where look over your shoulder to reverse. But now, being used to 360 overhead view and moving guide lines, even a normal reversing camera looks like yesterdays tech. Not to mention cooled seat feature with leather upholstery, your butt will thank you for it in a hot day ... Memory seats if more than 1 person use the vehicle ... auto cornering headlights ... etc etc .. These are not even the newest features by today's standards .. but probably would become standard like good old full option with power shutter / power mirror.
  22. This is just my 2 cents. Bought a brand new vehicle from the agents 4 years ago. That time there were not many gray imports for the Permits like nowadays anyway. So during the 4 years period (the agent warranty was only for 3 years / 60k KMS) did not had any issue which needed resolving with agent or warranty. Of course this is a gamble i understand. But unless if its a very high tech vehicle or unknown brand, should you pay close to 1mil as agent commission or go for a brand new gray import with more options. Also not sure apart from Porsche anyone else offers an extended warranty up to 10 years.
  23. This is great. But my paint is not perfect now. should do a cut and polish to restore the original shine. But then again, before applying the nano coating its required to remove the wax. How would this work? No point sealing with nano without doing a cut and polish.
  24. Anyone has done this ceramic coating DIY? Can get the kit off online for cheap. But not sure if we could pull it off without experience.
  25. Yes, as Davy said, get your car checked with a proper scanner. I got error codes relating to above sensors hence i changed them. I got a small scanner off AliExp. it was 20 odd dollars but really worth the price. With that you will be able to view the error codes with description and erase them temporarily. Below is a similar link for a reader. Cannot find the exact model i use as it was an older model now. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/LAUNCH-X431-CR3001-OBD-2-CAR-Code-Reader-Support-Full-OBDII-EOBD-Function-Launch-Creader-3001/32868967474.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.210.59ed6c42lUUUX6&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_5722815_10342_10343_10340_5722915_10341_5722615_10696_10084_10083_10618_10307_5722715_10059_100031_10103_10624_10623_10622_5722515_10621_10620,searchweb201603_25,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=13b25fb2-33d6-4bee-bffa-fbf0a87b1dc8-29&algo_pvid=13b25fb2-33d6-4bee-bffa-fbf0a87b1dc8&priceBeautifyAB=0 .
