Fb14 & Fb13's also in this range & always check the vehicle by a well known mechanic before go for it. Good luck....

Vehicle is very economical, mainatance are very easy, spare parts available but space is bit not enough. but will be a good choice for a family 2.Nissan Cefiro :- As mentioned by whmsujith cefiro will not be a good choice since fuel consumpition is very low & second hand market also very low. but it s good sedan comfortable car 3.Toyota Passo :- Our A\L members have shared their experince on this few days back. you may follow the link. http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?/topic/12613-toyota-passo-information/page__pid__186186#entry186186 4.Nissan march beetle :- In this range this is a good car. economical, easy maintainance, good second hand market. but you need to find a well maintained one other than the mentioned 04 vehicles there are some options where you can go with your budget. 4. Hi, if there is no any oil leak what is the reason of replacing the sump cover?
  5. Hi NRX, as Mr Sylvi,NPP,Miniace state it's correct that these model of vehicles are coming with vacumm type brakes.its ON only when the engine is switch ON.When engine get off suddenly same time the breaks get off. as NPP said its work fine only for the first time after the engine off. after you need to give a big power to press the padel. If you feel that your brakes are low you can only check it when the vehicle is moving with engine on status.my opinion is not to do this because you will get failed to stop the vehicle in a immidiate situation. Others pls correct us if wrong. Good day....
  6. Windshield washer fluid is the better choice for me.but considering the market price a branded one will be bit high in price.if you used soap mixed water or shampoo water in a sunny day some times some water drops can be get dried in the windscreen corners in white colour. Glass cleners can be harm to your paint as well as to your wiper rubber blades as they contain some harmfull chemichals to auto paint & rubber beedings.
  7. Dear cooltnd, As Mr Sylvi & BIG_D & The Don state in above i also can suggest you to gor for a pertrol car since this is your first vehicle.with your 1M budget you can go for a 17- 18- or 19- YOM after 1985 petrol car.with this car you can get a good knowledge & experince on how to maintaining\reparing a vehicle.so my advice is to go for a well maintained pertol car. (better to check your car with a good mechanical before pucrhase it) Good Luck !!!!

  12. Motorists will risk having their driving licences suspended for up to a year under a Driver Improvement Points system to be implemented next year, a top official said yesterday. The regulations under the Motor Traffic Act had been worked out by Transport Minister Kumar Welgama but its implementation was likely to take time, Motor Traffic Commissioner B.D.L. Dharmapriya said. He said those who accumulated between eighteen and 23 points within 24 months would be given a warning by the Commissioner–General while those who exceed 23 points would have their licences suspended for a year. As for those holding instructor’s licences, two consecutive suspensions within four years would lead to the cancellationof their licences. The commissioner said there would also be provision for the remission of the period of suspension if the offender participated in a training programme. The offences that carry the highest number of ten points include failure to stop after an accident on a highway and to furnish relevant information, failure to report an accident to the nearest police station or driving a vehicle that is likely to cause danger or harm to people, property or other vehicles. Driving a motor vehicle on a highway recklessly or in a dangerous manner or at a dangerous speed will earn eight points. Some of the other point accumulations will be for exceeding the prescribed speed limits on a highway (6); trying to overtake other vehicles without a clear view of the road ahead (6); failing to comply with oral directions or hand signals given by a police officer or a traffic warden (6); driving a motor vehicle which has emissions above the prescribed standards (6); using or permitting to use amplifying equipment in a vehicle with a volume of sound above the prescribed standards (6); failure to wear a seat belt or failing to ensure the front seat passenger wear a seat belt (3); and failure to give way at a zebra crossing while a pedestrian is at the crossing (6).

  14. Hi, i just got this via an email from a friend of mine.so thought to share it with our A\L friends. Sri Lankan Cops - Useful Tips 1. A single Cop, CANNOT stop you on the road ! (it's prohibited and you are not suppose to Stop either !) 2. A single cop CANNOT seize your driving license ! 3. Only a 'traffic control' cop has the authority to request anything MORE than your NIC when you are behind wheels. 4. A single traffic cop NEVER can press charges against you. HE MUST HAVE A WITNESS IF DOES SO. 5.. That's why you always find 'two' cops together 6. Police is a peace controlling force. NOT AN ARMED FORCE !!! They are prohibited by LAW to carry anything more than a BATON ! (but due to the prevailing WAR, they are issued Guns by a supreme court ruling, till the war ENDS) 7. So, if a Cop pulls a gun on you, YOU CAN sue him !!! 8. If a COP claims that you are drunk, you have the FULL right to ask for a 'balloon test', if they DO NOT HAVE it in their possession on the time of your request, you can GO. 9. Only Traffic Cops have the RIGHT to stop any moving vehicle. (that's why you find at least 1 normal cop in every checkpoint even though they are manned by Army) 10. COPS, CANNOT ENTER YOUR HOME OR WORK PREMISES without a court Order. You have the FULLEST right ASK for it, if they try to enter and also DENY their entrance if you 'feel' like it. 11. A traffic cop CANNOT seize your driving license UNTIL he fully states the crime you have committed and the relating penal code violation. If he is unsuccessful in stating them, you can go free 12. If a traffic cop seizes your license by force and ask you to come to the police station to collect it. DO NOT GO ! Lodge a complain directly to Police commission or the 'Provincial IGP', YOU can get the cop SACKED for his misconduct and unruly behaviour. 13. (for girls), If a COP asks for your Identifications and (if you think he's doing it on purpose to harass you) you CAN deny his request. He cannot arrest you ! you have the RIGHT to request for a Female Police officer. 14. (for Girls) If you are asked to be Body checked, it's your right to get it done by a female cop. If they don't have one in present, DENY their action.
  15. Hello GKWKK, yes me too can guess its in a problem with your power stering rack. its this happen recently? or did you chnage your excisitng rack? it's adviceble to go for the stock parts when replacing for repeairs. if you keep this any more this will efect to other steering wheel equipments too. better to go for a reconditiond one. am not sure about the prices but i guess with the 2 rack ends, greese, rubber boots, new alignment & mechanic charges all will will get charge aroound 20k. Thanks....
  16. weel i saw only 2c ones. dont know whether 3c are availble or not.
  17. my experince is simply im not using this L & 2 other than going on a way like horton place to avoid brake bindings & give much more power to go up . it's not acceptable to shift to gears while moving the vehicle.as MINIACE state it can be done atleast in a 20kmph speed but i use to do it in a 0kmph.about the OD button am useing to keep it always on other than in a hill, traffic jam & it's giving me much more smooth drive to me.
  18. Dear KR 42, is this happening on D when cnaging gears ? & when was your last ATF chnage?
  19. dear all. well i got a bit dark area on this. if any one have a car\van can he/she do a tourist guide job? do he/she needs to get a national guide licene ? if any one did this w\o a licene what will happen? if we take a group of our foreign FRIENDS do we need that licene for that? Thanks...
  20. well am not an expert but my feeling according to my knowledge there are 2 rubber boots fixed on one sidde. one get fixed closer to weel & other from the rack. it there is a leak of GREASE it can be from the one which fixed closed to weel.either it can not fixed properly or got damaged. if it happen from the other boot it can be a power steering oil leak. & for the kncoking sound it may coming from your expired engine mount or check the lower arm bushes on both left & right side.you can do a test this by fring on a rough road.
