Vehicle Duty Going To Increase This Friday ?
CARBON B4 replied to sampath_fer's topic in General Automotive
Er.... this is ITN, sadly a lot of people may actually believe it.. Yes Unimo.... subsidiary of Uni*ed Motors.... -
I am sure you will find plenty if you walk around Darley Road..... I personally don't like seat covers... end of the day you buy the car to enjoy right ? , So whats the point in trying to protect it for someone else... But if you got little kids / pets who eat in the car and mess up the seats then it kind of justifies it... : )

Will The New Tax Policy Affected My Already Ordered Car?
CARBON B4 replied to chathu87's topic in General Automotive
That's bad.... But why not just buy it and try to sell it since your Rs 200k is sunk anyway..... and its not like the entire sales of Viva Elites are going to come to a stand still, there will be people still willing to buy. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=73785 -
Black Smoke + Carbon From Exhaust + Overdue Service
CARBON B4 replied to NRX's topic in General Automotive
He may have also neglected to change the air filter, which maybe be clogged. Doubt it could be anything very serious, would be good if he gets a tune up done in the process... -
Usually it takes about a month or two for the duty increase to really affect the second hand market..... actually you might be able to get a better price under these circumstances as people who are trying to upgrade will want to get rid of the old car sooner to pay for the new car. ( most car sales guys will sell their stock at the old prices ). So if you are planning to buy a second hand car this is the week you need to do it....

Some numbers does not add up..... but assuming these numbers are correct, the Insight Hybrid increase is lesser than the Alto ! ....... we might see a whole lot of Toyota Aquas in Sri Lanka by the looks of it. -

Pretty pathetic reply...... the accident happened 3 years ago you idiot ! and the turbos were done much after... just proves you are just a lying SOB.... So finding it difficult to put the money where your mouth is er ...? maybe your imaginary friend is shy to reveal himself.... Btw.... I sent you a very polite pm, ... I should have known buggers like u cannot be addressed in a decent manner.... well.. we all learn from our mistakes. Anyway, for anyone who is jobless, here is the pm, where I am begging and pleading with this assh*le ..... Listen MD, I think its best we clear this out. I am not sure of from where u are getting you info but I suggest u speak to Jehan directly and get it clarified. Yes, the chassis was bent but it was fixed, obviously its not going to be 100% like it came out of the factory and we all know that. The awkward thing u talk of is due to a bend rear arm, which I need to get fixed. Jehan is fully aware of that. The crack in the engine u mentioned maybe the time I was loosing oil, about 1 year back. Jehan wanted to swap the engine, but I wanted to rebuild it. Maybe this is what u mean by I was given the expensive option but I opted out. This is the time I went to Darin and got the overhaul done. We changed the pistons and a few other stuff and the engine is running well. I had some issues with the Turbos put by Darin, but it was latter fixed. Guys at Senok obviously did not like what I did for taking it elsewhere. Anyway the car is not for sale, and will not be for a long time, so you don't need to loose sleep over it. But if you have any valid points which I am unaware of please let me know, and I will thank you for that. I am not here for any popularity contest, neither do I want to make any enemies. -
VVTi is right.. there was another incident I know of where Pi* Stop messed up by trying to do a engine flush, this was on a Suzuki Vitara, cost the owner something like Rs 200k to get it sorted out, same thing like what happened to the Cefero as described.

I am not confused one bit, as I know who you are..... its pretty sad what has happened to you...... anyway, it not my business to drag your dirty skeletons out of the closet.... And I have no intention carrying on a conversation with a low life like u anyway. But since you mentioned " SOLID FACTS " lets see...... a) You say I tried to sell my car to a A/L member, and I was offered only Rs 900k - Why don't you tell the audience the name of this person ? If its a fact it should not be that hard right ? Car was condemned and SENOK said it was " Unrepairable " ? - News to me... but care to mention who told you this ? If anyone was to make that call it would have to be Jehan.... and I am pretty sure 3 years ago he did not say anything of the sort , He should know as he has looked after the car , and he has seen worse accidents on Stis.. do u want a list ? But of course.... u seem to know more than him.... c) Turbos Not working - funny how you seems to know what works or not... Turbos were fixed by Darin, and they are working great, if you have any doubt why dont you have a chat with him, he has driven the car and I am sure he knows a thing or two about turbos and if they work or not. Peri : Appreciate if you don't take down all these... as it would be good to see Mr MD " Proves " what he is saying... -

Hey... Jdent.... Jobless as usual I see.. ? And MD.... I too am sorry for insulting your rust buckets and your scrap yard... I am sure you will find the money to restore all of them like you dream.... Maybe someday you will have a car that actually runs and your daddy will be so proud of you. Maybe you will be able to buy back some of those exotics your dad sadly had to part with to give you a proper education..... -
Sorry, I dont know of any place in SL where u can get one, but you could search it on e bay and get one shipped. Since its a relatively small item this should not be too much of a problem. Most local body kit guys should be able to do the installation for you....

Vehicle Duty Going To Increase This Friday ?
CARBON B4 replied to sampath_fer's topic in General Automotive
There have been several ads in last Sunday papers advertising cars saying its the last batch of cars at the old prices ( If I remember correct there was a ad for the BMW X1 by Dim *o ) Not sure if this is to get rid of the old models or if these were the last few brought down prior to the steep increase in the Forex rate. Anyway if they do increase the duty tomorrow, car sales guys will make a killing as there is a tendency for lot of people to buy new cars prior to Avurudu. Also people doing business in cloths/electrical goods etc also have a lot of cash after the Avurudu sale which they will put down/invest on a new car. -
Correct me if I am wrong, but if coolant has a higher boiling point (Water boils at 212 degrees. A 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze boils at 223 degrees.) this means the overall heat of the water would be lesser when using coolant right ? which also means that the radiator fan will need to work less harder to keep the liquid at the correct tempreture, in turn saving energy/fuel for the car. ( It could be a very small benefit, but still something right ? ) Then you have the issue of visibility of a leak due to the florescent coloring... and the anti rust properties of coolant. So in a way you could say coolant is better than water, and its not like you replace it every month..

Just a suggestion.... If you can locate a roof air vent, like the ones on the Sti RAR, maybe you could do a installation done. Although it could be risky since you will need to cut a hole in the roof. The link shows a good DIY job. One of the issues of having the vent on the bonnet is that the air coming is heated up due to the engine, this is avoided by having it on the roof, so u get more cooler air. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=969272

Where Can I Buy Car Ornaments??
CARBON B4 replied to Milinda Lakmal Perera's question in Car Buying Information
All what you say is valid... but restraining the little fellows is not as easy sometimes..... Best option is to get a child car seat, but the good ones ( with the proper head support) are rather expensive, and the kids hardly stay in the darn thing anyway... -
Dont worry...... the guy lives at the Monarch, studied at CIS , runs a big liquor business and that's the picture of his actual A4. And I am the queen of England.....

Why did u take down Anjalie's picture..... ? I am missing her already
-
No, there is a guy in office having it.... seems ok and cannot see any difference as its a clear tint. Although you cannot say how it will be after say 3 or 4 years time, after some reaction to the sun and heat.... some discoloration is possible, but 3m would have done their research...
-
Dont be so sarcastic.... he is asking about the clear tint for the windscreen. Its a little expensive Rs 12k for the full windscreen, Kle*npark has a unit where u can test it yourself by holding it to a heat lamp. I have checked it out and there is a noticeable reduction in the heat. So if you are someone who drives a lot in the mid day heat its a good investment and will also protect the dash plus help the a/c. I dont think there are any other clear tints available in the mass market other than 3M, and cannot guarantee if they work.

The sound is only when the engine is at idle ? could be that your rpm is low which is causing the vibration.
